Love your school, the Grange, Shrewsbury.

00:01Jolly, a wonderful school. First of all, we ask all of our headteachers this when we arrive.
00:06What's the thing that you love most about your school?
00:08Oh, goodness me, where to start? There are so many things.
00:11It's got to be my Grangers. My Grangers are amazing, full of life, energetic, keen to learn.
00:19Every day is different, but, you know, my staff are so passionate and dedicated.
00:25Our learning environment, I just, you just need to come and have a look.
00:29When you come and have a look around, you'll understand why Grange is such an amazing place.
00:33One of the things mentioned already that you have a big focus on is nurturing the kids.
00:37Tell us more about that and how you aim to do it.
00:39Well, our whole curriculum is based on nurturing.
00:42You know, staff that come and work at Grange are nurturing people.
00:46It's one of the key things that we look for is, you know,
00:49we want our children to build connections and relationships with our children.
00:53And, you know, we have a nurture unit.
00:55But just walking around school, you know, everyone talks to each other really kindly.
01:02And it's an expectation that, you know, everybody looks after each other.
01:06We're all Grangers. We're all in this together.
01:08But even within our curriculum, we are learning about nurture.
01:13And, yeah, it's part of everything that we do.
01:17You've got great, expansive facilities.
01:19Tell us some of the things that are going on here.
01:22What do the kids love the most, really, when they come to school?
01:24Well, our curriculum was written with the children.
01:28So we make sure, you know, we've heard from them that they want to have practical learning.
01:33They want to be outside, that they want to have hands-on experiences.
01:37So our whole curriculum is based on those things.
01:39So you'll see children out and about in Forest School.
01:42I've seen children playing golf this week outside.
01:45We have football tournaments.
01:46There's so much going on.
01:48We use the whole facility here.
01:50We've got a really lovely hall.
01:52We've got PE coaches.
01:54We've got so much going on.
01:56Children out and about.
01:57We've got children on trips.
01:59We've got people going on a residential this week.
02:02And our year sixes are out and swimming.
02:04There's so much going on.
02:06It's vibrant and busy.
02:08And, yeah, I'm so proud of everything that we do here.
