00:00The offseason is well underway, and the Dallas Cowboys have finally begun minicamp just over a month out from training camp.

00:12How is something like this different from OTAs, you might be asking?

00:16The organized team activities were all voluntary, but ones like this one are mandatory, even for the veterans.

00:23Now, players like cornerback Trayvon Diggs were even here today.

00:26Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said he was the first player that he saw in the building.

00:31And you also have a player like defensive end Micah Parsons.

00:34Nope, we're still not there with that new contract, but even he was there on the field without a helmet and not really practicing much,

00:41instead really just talking to Jerry Jones on the side.

00:44But all in all, it was perfect attendance across the board for all of these Dallas Cowboys players.

00:50That perfect attendance statistic goes to show the dedication and serious level of every player on the team.

00:55In the words of coach Schottenheimer, there are tangible benefits for the return of key players, specifically Micah Parsons.

01:02The number one reason of importance is being a connection piece.

01:05There are a lot of new guys, and getting Parsons acclimated and more familiar with Joel Milton and George Pickens and the other additions a lot better.

01:13Coach Schottenheimer stated that you want your best players to be excited and buy into what you're doing,

01:17because those are the guys that your younger players are looking up to.

01:20Even general manager and owner Jerry Jones spoke with Parsons at practice and said he's so appreciative of him stepping up and being a leader.

01:28It's the final bit of work before late July.
