00:06:34Grazie a tutti.
00:07:06Wow.
00:07:09Wow.
00:07:15Wow.
00:07:17That's a beautiful sight.
00:07:24Wow.
00:07:31That's a beautiful sight.
00:07:39And it's a beautiful sight to be with you in a place called Fort Bragg.
00:07:43It's called Fort Bragg.
00:08:13So, yeah, yeah.
00:08:14That's a great day.
00:08:16for that awesome display of pure, unrival, American military mind.
00:08:23I just saw something that was crazy.
00:08:26You don't want to mess.
00:08:28I've been saying a long time, we have the best.
00:08:30Nobody even comes close, but they just gave me a display
00:08:32that you might be lucky not to see it, because it's a little scary.
00:08:38It was beautiful to watch.
00:08:40Let's hear it for the Army Special Operations and Command
00:08:44and the 82nd Airborne Division and the 18th Airborne Corps.
00:08:51What a show it was and what a show it continues to be.
00:08:55And Saturday is going to be a big day in Washington, D.C.
00:09:00You know, a lot of people say, we don't want to do that.
00:09:03I say, yeah, we do. We want to show off a little bit.
00:09:06You know, recently, other countries celebrated the victory of World War I.
00:09:11France was celebrating, really.
00:09:13They were all celebrating.
00:09:15The only one that doesn't celebrate is the USA,
00:09:17and we're the ones that won the war.
00:09:19Without us, you'd all be speaking German right now.
00:09:25Maybe a little Japanese thrown in.
00:09:28But we won the war.
00:09:30And we don't celebrate, but we're going to celebrate on Saturday,
00:09:33and we're going to celebrate from now on.
00:09:35We're going to celebrate our greatness and our achievements.
00:09:38This week, we honor 250 years of valor and glory and triumph
00:09:43by the greatest fighting force ever to walk the face of the earth,
00:09:48the United States Army.
00:09:50For two and a half centuries, our soldiers have marched into the raging fires of battle
00:09:59and obliterated America's enemies.
00:10:03There's never been anything like it.
00:10:04There's never been a force like this.
00:10:07And I rebuilt it.
00:10:08I gave you so much money for four years.
00:10:10It was crazy.
00:10:11And we just approved our largest budget for military operations,
00:10:18over $1 trillion.
00:10:21We've never even come close.
00:10:26But our army has smashed foreign empires, humbled kings, toppled tyrants,
00:10:33and hunted terrorist savages through the very gates of hell.
00:10:37Our soldiers do not rest until they win.
00:10:42You know that better than anybody.
00:10:43From June 1775 to June 2025, those foolish enough to challenge America's army
00:10:52have been met with unyielding strength, unbreakable spirit,
00:10:55and unstoppable, overwhelming force.
00:10:59Time and again, our enemies have learned that if you dare to threaten the American people,
00:11:05American soldier will chase you down, crush you, and cast you into oblivion.
00:11:12That's what happens, unfortunately.
00:11:14That's not what happens.
00:11:18It doesn't sound very nice, but it's true, isn't it?
00:11:21The last sound you ever hear will be the chilling howl of Black Hawks
00:11:26and the dead of night, the thunderous boom of artillery fire
00:11:30or the ferocious roar of a U.S. Army infantry brigade
00:11:34charging over the horizon.
00:11:36That brigade is going to charge like you've never seen before,
00:11:40and hopefully I can keep you out of that.
00:11:43But if I don't, you're ready.
00:11:44Is that right?
00:11:44If I can keep you out of it,
00:11:46If I keep you out of it, that's okay.
00:11:49But if we need it, you're ready.
00:11:52You know, it's called peace through strength, isn't it?
00:11:55Peace through strength.
00:11:57For our adversaries, there's no greater fear
00:12:00than the United States Army.
00:12:02They all fear us,
00:12:03and we have the greatest force anywhere on Earth.
00:12:05You know, you read different stories
00:12:07that others are building and building and building.
00:12:09We have a force like no other.
00:12:11They said it would take five years to defeat ISIS.
00:12:14We did it in four weeks, four weeks.
00:12:17We let him go.
00:12:18Unlike other of your leaders, I let him go.
00:12:21And we had General Raisin Cain,
00:12:24who's now the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
00:12:27because I liked him.
00:12:28He was a warrior.
00:12:29He was a great warrior,
00:12:30and now he's been rewarded for his incredible work.
00:12:34But they said it would take five years,
00:12:36and we did it in four weeks.
00:12:38Someday I'm going to ask him to explain that one to me.
00:12:41But it was the television generals that said that.
00:12:43the real generals got out and fought,
00:12:46and nobody fought like them ever.
00:12:49But for the American people,
00:12:50there's no greater pride
00:12:52because you are the righteous sword of American justice
00:12:55and the ultimate shield of American freedom.
00:12:58This week, we remember that we only have a country
00:13:02because we first had an army.
00:13:05The army was first.
00:13:07In fact, the army was even before the country.
00:13:09You know that, right?
00:13:10one year before the country.
00:13:11After 250 years,
00:13:14we still proudly declare that we are free
00:13:17because you are strong.
00:13:18You are so strong.
00:13:20We're safe because you are brave,
00:13:23and America's flag will never fall
00:13:25because America's army will never, ever fail.
00:13:29Never going to fail.
00:13:30Every branch of the armed forces
00:13:32has played a critical role in protecting our nation,
00:13:36but no one has done more fighting,
00:13:38bleeding, and winning than the U.S. Army.
00:13:40Nobody's done that.
00:13:42The army has earned more combat medals
00:13:44and more battle ribbons than any other service,
00:13:47and 70 percent of all of the medals of honor.
00:13:51We give away medals of honor all the time
00:13:54at the White House to incredibly brave people,
00:13:56but you have 70 percent of them.
00:13:59Army soldiers and especially our army paratroopers
00:14:02truly go all the way.
00:14:05You know that expression, all the way.
00:14:07It's one of your beautiful expressions.
00:14:12As President of the United States,
00:14:14let me express my undying gratitude to our nation
00:14:19for every soldier here today,
00:14:21for every veteran and their families,
00:14:23those incredible families that are with us
00:14:26and all across America,
00:14:28and for every patriot who has worn the uniform
00:14:32over 250 years.
00:14:35Can you imagine that?
00:14:36We thank you from the absolute bottom of our hearts.
00:14:41Few places loom larger in army lore
00:14:43than where we are gathered today.
00:14:47The one and only Fort Bragg.
00:14:49The one and only Fort Bragg.
00:14:51But remember, it was only that little brief moment
00:15:01that it wasn't called Fort Bragg.
00:15:03It was by the Biden administration, not Trump.
00:15:06I had nothing to do with it.
00:15:08You know, we got it changed.
00:15:11We said, you know, I came here numerous times
00:15:14and everybody, they kept saying,
00:15:16Fort Bragg, Fort Bragg.
00:15:17I said, you know, it's not the name,
00:15:19but then I was making a speech.
00:15:21I said, what do you think I should call this place?
00:15:22Call it Fort Bragg.
00:15:24I said, Fort Bragg, how you doing?
00:15:26We won a lot of battles from this place,
00:15:28and that's the way it is.
00:15:29It wasn't even close.
00:15:30When Pete and some of the generals came to see me,
00:15:33I said, not even close.
00:15:35Not even close.
00:15:36This is the home of the Green Brace,
00:15:40the Sky Dragons,
00:15:41and the All-American 82nd Airborne.
00:15:45We know what 82nd Airborne Division is.
00:15:50This is where the GIs who won the Second World War
00:15:54learned to pack their parachutes
00:15:57and push howitzers
00:15:59and go right into those C-47s with lots of arms
00:16:04and push them right out those big, beautiful doors
00:16:07and wheel their bayonets
00:16:09and pry the enemy from the hedgerows
00:16:12of the French countryside.
00:16:15France needed us badly.
00:16:17We were there.
00:16:18A lot of people needed us badly.
00:16:20They still do, maybe worse than ever.
00:16:23It was here in the soil that the Army forged,
00:16:25the metal that held strong at Bastogne.
00:16:29It was here the mighty paratroopers earned their wings
00:16:32before they rained down death from above
00:16:35to liberate Sicily, Normandy, and even the Netherlands.
00:16:40That's right.
00:16:41We saved the Netherlands.
00:16:43Every inch of this base is steeped in the legacy
00:16:46of those warriors who have said with pride,
00:16:49sir, I trained at Fort Bragg, sir.
00:16:54That was pretty cool.
00:16:55And that is why we restored the historic name
00:16:59of this very, very special place.
00:17:01I don't know if it could be the same place.
00:17:04Fort Bragg is in.
00:17:06That's the name.
00:17:08And Fort Bragg, it shall always remain.
00:17:11That's never going to be happening again.
00:17:19And for a little news for the fake news back there,
00:17:22the fake news, ladies and gentlemen,
00:17:24look at them, look at them all.
00:17:25what I have to put up with.
00:17:27Fake news.
00:17:31What I have to put up with.
00:17:34But they're all right.
00:17:35They've been very nice today.
00:17:36They were impressed with that display,
00:17:38I can tell you that.
00:17:39I think it took them a little by surprise.
00:17:41But for a little breaking news,
00:17:44we are also going to be restoring the names
00:17:48to Fort Pickett, Fort Hood, Fort Gordon,
00:17:52Fort Rucker, Fort Polk, Fort A.P. Hill,
00:17:57and Fort Robert E. Lee.
00:18:05We won a lot of battles out of those forts.
00:18:07It's no time to change.
00:18:09And I'm superstitious, you know?
00:18:11I like to keep it going, right?
00:18:13I'm very superstitious.
00:18:15We want to keep it going.
00:18:17So that's a big story.
00:18:18We just announced that today to you for the first time.
00:18:20They said, why didn't you wait until Saturday?
00:18:22I said, I can't wait.
00:18:23I got to talk to my friends here today.
00:18:27This is a record crowd.
00:18:28You know, you never had a crowd this big.
00:18:30That's an honor.
00:18:31You think this crowd would have showed up for Biden?
00:18:34I don't think so.
00:18:35I don't think so.
00:18:36I don't think so.
00:18:37Maybe I'm wrong.
00:18:39Maybe I'm wrong.
00:18:41I want to thank so many great leaders here today,
00:18:44including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth,
00:18:47who's been great.
00:18:48By the way, Pete, thank you.
00:18:49Thank you.
00:18:53And he went through the wars, you know?
00:18:54Pete went through the wars.
00:18:56He had to get through a very hostile group of people
00:18:58that I think really don't want to see America be great again,
00:19:02maybe, or something.
00:19:03But he persevered, and he got there,
00:19:06and he's doing a fantastic job.
00:19:08Great job, Pete.
00:19:09Thank you very much.
00:19:10Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins,
00:19:13a fantastic man.
00:19:15Thank you, Doug.
00:19:15You're doing a great job.
00:19:19Doing a great, great job.
00:19:20Way, way up from the last administration,
00:19:24veterans of Veterans Administration.
00:19:27It's way up.
00:19:28You saw the recent poll.
00:19:29The people are happy.
00:19:30They weren't happy a couple of years ago.
00:19:33They were really happy five years ago.
00:19:36But it went downhill from there.
00:19:38We did so much.
00:19:39We got you medical.
00:19:40If you had a wait, if you had a delay at all,
00:19:42you go out to see a private doctor,
00:19:44we pay the bill you take care of.
00:19:45You don't wait for six months
00:19:46and end up getting very sick on something
00:19:48that could have been done with a little shot or a pill.
00:19:52We did that.
00:19:53Then they wanted to drop that.
00:19:54I said, we're not dropping it.
00:19:55But, Doug, I'm proud of you.
00:19:57I just heard some great things.
00:19:58Thank you very much.
00:20:00The Secretary of the Army,
00:20:02a really brilliant young guy,
00:20:05went to Yale, can't have everything.
00:20:08Top student.
00:20:09Dan Driscoll.
00:20:11Thank you.
00:20:12Thank you, Dan.
00:20:13And we have your senators,
00:20:21Senator Ted Budd and Senator Tom Tillis.
00:20:24Thank you, fellas.
00:20:25Congressman Richard Hudson,
00:20:35Pat Harrigan.
00:20:36Where's Pat?
00:20:37Pat?
00:20:38Good, Pat.
00:20:39You're doing great.
00:20:39You guys are amazing.
00:20:40And we have the big brass,
00:20:43General Andrew Pappas.
00:20:46General, thank you.
00:20:47Thank you, General.
00:20:49You're doing a great job.
00:20:52General John Braja.
00:20:55John.
00:20:56Thank you.
00:20:56Great job.
00:20:57Thank you for today, John.
00:20:59General Greg Anderson.
00:21:02Thank you.
00:21:03Thank you, Greg.
00:21:05Thank you.
00:21:06Thank you.
00:21:06Sergeant Major of the Army,
00:21:09Michael Wymer.
00:21:15And before going further,
00:21:16I want to say a few words
00:21:17about the situation
00:21:19in Los Angeles, California.
00:21:21Have you heard of the place?
00:21:23Where I've deployed thousands
00:21:25of National Guard troops
00:21:26and hundreds of Marines
00:21:28to protect federal law enforcement
00:21:29from the attacks
00:21:31of a vicious and violent mob.
00:21:33and some of the radical left,
00:21:35they say,
00:21:36oh, that's not nice.
00:21:37Well, if we didn't do it,
00:21:38there wouldn't be a Los Angeles.
00:21:39It'd be burning today,
00:21:40just like their houses
00:21:41were burning a number
00:21:42of months ago.
00:21:44Generations of Army heroes
00:21:46did not shed their blood
00:21:48on distant shores
00:21:49only to watch our country
00:21:51be destroyed by invasion
00:21:53and third world lawlessness
00:21:54here at home,
00:21:56like is happening in California.
00:21:59As Commander-in-Chief,
00:22:00I will not let that happen.
00:22:02It's never going to happen.
00:22:03What you're witnessing
00:22:07in California
00:22:08is a full-blown assault
00:22:10on peace,
00:22:11on public order,
00:22:13and a national sovereignty
00:22:14carried out by rioters
00:22:16bearing foreign flags
00:22:18with the aim of continuing
00:22:20a foreign invasion
00:22:21of our country.
00:22:23We're not going to let that happen.
00:22:25Remember, millions of people
00:22:27were allowed to come
00:22:28into our country
00:22:29totally unchecked
00:22:31and unvetted
00:22:31by stupid people
00:22:32or radical left people
00:22:34or sick people.
00:22:36But regardless,
00:22:37open border policy,
00:22:39the dumbest policy yet.
00:22:41I would say even dumber
00:22:42than men playing
00:22:44in women's sports.
00:22:46Transgender for everyone.
00:22:49and even dumber than that,
00:22:52they're hurling bricks
00:22:55and cinder blocks
00:22:56at law enforcement.
00:22:58Did you see?
00:22:59They're breaking up
00:22:59the sidewalks
00:23:00and the curbs,
00:23:01breaking it up
00:23:02with big, strong hammers.
00:23:04These guys are professionals.
00:23:05These are not amateurs.
00:23:07They're breaking it up
00:23:08because they took
00:23:08the bricks away from them.
00:23:10They came in with bricks,
00:23:11red bricks,
00:23:13that they could throw
00:23:13at our military
00:23:14and at the police
00:23:15in L.A.,
00:23:17who are very good,
00:23:18but they weren't aggressive
00:23:19like our soldiers.
00:23:20Our soldiers really
00:23:21were aggressive,
00:23:22but they all worked together.
00:23:24But they came in with bricks.
00:23:26They were taken away
00:23:27and they had hammers.
00:23:29Oh, wow,
00:23:29how did that happen?
00:23:30And they're pounding
00:23:31the sidewalk.
00:23:32I said,
00:23:32what the hell is he doing?
00:23:34And he's breaking it up
00:23:35and making it into
00:23:36concrete bombs,
00:23:39in a way,
00:23:40and they're dropping them
00:23:40on our military.
00:23:41They're throwing them
00:23:42at our military.
00:23:44Pretty good arms
00:23:44they had, too.
00:23:46Hits guys right in the face.
00:23:47Big chunk of concrete.
00:23:49Worse than a brick.
00:23:50They're taking them
00:23:51up to the bridges
00:23:52and they're dropping them
00:23:52in the cars
00:23:53that are going by.
00:23:54These are animals.
00:23:56But they proudly carry
00:23:57the flags of other countries,
00:24:01but they don't carry
00:24:02the American flag.
00:24:03They only burn it.
00:24:04Did you see?
00:24:04a lot of the flags
00:24:05being burned?
00:24:06They weren't being burned
00:24:08by people from our country
00:24:11or from people
00:24:12that love our country.
00:24:14People that burn
00:24:15the American flag
00:24:17should go to jail
00:24:18for one year.
00:24:19What they should be doing.
00:24:21One year.
00:24:23And we'll see
00:24:23if we can get that done.
00:24:25We're going to try
00:24:25and get that done.
00:24:26We're working
00:24:27with some of your senators.
00:24:28I know Senator Josh Hawley
00:24:30is very much involved.
00:24:32And I know
00:24:33the two senators from here,
00:24:34I think you guys,
00:24:35are you guys in favor of it?
00:24:37Boy, would this be a bad time
00:24:38for them to say no.
00:24:41I got you.
00:24:42I got those two votes.
00:24:44The agitators
00:24:45are throwing firebombs,
00:24:47Molotov cocktails,
00:24:49lighting vehicles ablaze.
00:24:50You saw all the cars
00:24:51that were burning,
00:24:52mobbing police officers
00:24:53and ICE officers
00:24:55who are the toughest people
00:24:57you'll ever meet
00:24:58and they love our country
00:24:59and they're getting
00:24:59really tried to,
00:25:02they want to stomp on them
00:25:03but they're too tough.
00:25:04They don't allow it.
00:25:05And attempting to infiltrate
00:25:07and occupy federal buildings
00:25:09wearing armor
00:25:09and face shields.
00:25:11The best money can buy
00:25:12somebody's financing it.
00:25:14We're going to find out
00:25:14through Pam Bondi
00:25:16and Department of Justice
00:25:18who it is.
00:25:19They're already on it.
00:25:20Who's financing
00:25:20all this equipment?
00:25:21very professional.
00:25:24Under the Trump administration,
00:25:26this anarchy will not stand.
00:25:28We will not allow
00:25:29federal agents to be attacked
00:25:30and we will not allow
00:25:32an American city
00:25:33to be invaded
00:25:33and conquered
00:25:34by a foreign enemy.
00:25:37That's what they are.
00:25:39A lot of those people
00:25:39were let in here
00:25:40by the Biden administration.
00:25:42They just poured right in.
00:25:44They came from prisons.
00:25:45They came from jails
00:25:46from all over the world.
00:25:47They came from mental institutions.
00:25:49They were the leaders of gangs
00:25:51and they were drug lords
00:25:52allowed to come into our country.
00:25:55Their countries threw them out.
00:25:57Their countries would bus them
00:25:58or drive them
00:25:58right to our border
00:25:59and say,
00:26:00go in there.
00:26:00You ever come back,
00:26:01we're going to kill you.
00:26:02And we got them
00:26:03and we're getting them
00:26:04out of here.
00:26:05I want to applaud
00:26:06the courage
00:26:07and the strength
00:26:08of the incredible troops
00:26:10who are right now
00:26:11standing guard
00:26:12to protect federal property
00:26:14and personnel
00:26:15and uphold the supremacy
00:26:18of federal law.
00:26:19That's what they're doing.
00:26:20They're protecting
00:26:21our ICE agents.
00:26:23They're protecting
00:26:24the police in Los Angeles.
00:26:26The head of the police
00:26:28in Los Angeles,
00:26:29a good man,
00:26:30I hear a good man,
00:26:31but he was actually saying
00:26:32we really did need this help.
00:26:34It had gotten away from them.
00:26:36It had long gotten away.
00:26:38And we gave it to them.
00:26:39Not only are these service members
00:26:41defending the honest citizens
00:26:43of California,
00:26:44they're also defending
00:26:45our republic itself.
00:26:47And they are heroes.
00:26:49They're in there,
00:26:49they're heroes.
00:26:50They're fighting for us.
00:26:51They're stopping an invasion
00:26:53just like you'd stop an invasion.
00:26:55The big difference is
00:26:56most of the time
00:26:57when you stop an invasion,
00:26:58they're wearing a uniform.
00:27:00In many ways,
00:27:01it's tougher
00:27:01when they're not wearing
00:27:02a uniform
00:27:03because you don't know
00:27:04exactly who they are.
00:27:05In Los Angeles,
00:27:07the governor of California,
00:27:08the mayor
00:27:09of Los Angeles,
00:27:11they're incompetent.
00:27:18And they paid
00:27:19troublemakers,
00:27:21agitators,
00:27:22and insurrectionists.
00:27:23They're engaged
00:27:24in this willful attempt
00:27:27to nullify federal law
00:27:28and aid the occupation
00:27:29of the city
00:27:30by criminal invaders.
00:27:33That's what it is.
00:27:34They're invaders.
00:27:35No different.
00:27:35Their position
00:27:37is that the rioting
00:27:39will not stop
00:27:39unless ICE withdraws
00:27:41from Los Angeles
00:27:41and ceases the enforcement
00:27:43of federal immigration law.
00:27:45In other words,
00:27:45they came in here illegally.
00:27:47Many of them
00:27:48came out of prisons
00:27:49and jails,
00:27:50the most heinous people.
00:27:52They came from
00:27:53all over the world.
00:27:53They came from
00:27:54the Congo and Africa.
00:27:55They came from Asia.
00:27:57They came from
00:27:58the prisons
00:27:58of these places.
00:28:00They were put
00:28:01into the United States
00:28:02and allowed to stay here
00:28:04because we had
00:28:05a grossly,
00:28:06grossly unfit
00:28:09president
00:28:10who listened
00:28:12to whoever
00:28:13was operating
00:28:13the auto pen.
00:28:15And they allowed
00:28:16these people to stay.
00:28:17And by the way,
00:28:18I've known this guy
00:28:18for a long time.
00:28:19He was never
00:28:20the sharpest bulb.
00:28:21But you know what he was?
00:28:23He wasn't a radical
00:28:24left lunatic.
00:28:25He never dreamt
00:28:26about open borders.
00:28:27He never said that
00:28:28when he was of sound mind,
00:28:30which actually was
00:28:31a very long time ago.
00:28:32It's so sad
00:28:35what they've done
00:28:35to our country.
00:28:37I will say that
00:28:38without question,
00:28:39however,
00:28:40you're seeing
00:28:40the financial numbers.
00:28:42We've now got
00:28:43the hottest country
00:28:44anywhere in the world.
00:28:46And six months ago,
00:28:48it was the coldest country.
00:28:50We're being laughed at
00:28:50all over the world.
00:28:52I was in Saudi Arabia,
00:28:54Qatar, UAE.
00:28:57We brought back
00:28:57$5.1 trillion
00:28:59into our country.
00:29:00And all three leaders,
00:29:01they're great leaders,
00:29:02all three said,
00:29:04you know,
00:29:04you are presiding
00:29:05over the hottest
00:29:06country anywhere
00:29:08in the world.
00:29:09And they said
00:29:10the exact same thing
00:29:11they said six months ago.
00:29:13It was the coldest country.
00:29:15I'll tell you,
00:29:15it changed on a date.
00:29:16You know what
00:29:16November 5th was?
00:29:18It was the election
00:29:18of a president
00:29:19that loves you.
00:29:21And that's when
00:29:21it all changed.
00:29:24That's when it all changed.
00:29:26within the span of a few decades,
00:29:30Los Angeles has gone
00:29:31from being one of the
00:29:33cleanest, safest,
00:29:34and most beautiful cities
00:29:35on earth
00:29:36to being a trash heap
00:29:38with entire neighborhoods
00:29:40under the control
00:29:41of transnational gangs
00:29:43and criminal networks.
00:29:44It's horrible
00:29:45what's happened so quickly.
00:29:47As the entire world
00:29:49can now see,
00:29:50uncontrolled migration
00:29:51leads to chaos,
00:29:52dysfunction,
00:29:54and disorder.
00:29:55And you know what?
00:29:57They have it in Europe, too.
00:29:58It's happening
00:29:59in many of the countries
00:30:01of Europe.
00:30:02They don't like it
00:30:03when I say it,
00:30:04but I'll say it
00:30:04loudly and clearly.
00:30:06They better do something
00:30:07before it's too late.
00:30:09Very simply,
00:30:10we will liberate
00:30:10Los Angeles
00:30:11and make it free,
00:30:12clean, and safe again.
00:30:13It's happening very quickly.
00:30:15The one big,
00:30:16beautiful bill,
00:30:17you've heard about it,
00:30:18we call it the one big,
00:30:19you know,
00:30:19I was on one of the
00:30:20television shows,
00:30:21I think,
00:30:21to face the nation.
00:30:22Ladies and gentlemen,
00:30:24deface the nation.
00:30:26It's actually called
00:30:27face the nation
00:30:27for those of you
00:30:28that are smart enough
00:30:29not to know,
00:30:30because you're better off
00:30:30not knowing.
00:30:31But I was on one of the shows
00:30:33and I said,
00:30:34we've got to get a great bill.
00:30:36They said,
00:30:36would you like it to be one bill
00:30:38or would you like it
00:30:38to be seven or eight bills?
00:30:40They said,
00:30:40I want one big,
00:30:42beautiful bill.
00:30:43And the Republican Party
00:30:44liked that statement.
00:30:44They called it
00:30:45one big, beautiful bill.
00:30:46So that's good.
00:30:47And that's what it is.
00:30:48It's great.
00:30:50And it's currently
00:30:50before Congress.
00:30:51that provides
00:30:52all necessary funding
00:30:53for ICE,
00:30:54for Border Patrol,
00:30:55and for the Department
00:30:57of Defense.
00:30:57And I told you,
00:30:58at a level that we've never
00:30:59had before,
00:31:00over a trillion dollars.
00:31:01We better get that bill
00:31:02approved.
00:31:04Otherwise,
00:31:04your helicopters
00:31:05and your planes
00:31:05and your equipment
00:31:07is going to start
00:31:07to look a little bit old,
00:31:08General.
00:31:09You better push
00:31:09your favorite congressman.
00:31:11You better push
00:31:12these two senators.
00:31:13I think they're
00:31:13in good shape, however.
00:31:14But we've got to get it
00:31:16approved.
00:31:17And those congressmen
00:31:18by you are all 100%.
00:31:20I don't even have
00:31:21to talk to them.
00:31:22They've been so great.
00:31:24So I want to sign this
00:31:25into law immediately.
00:31:26And with the signing,
00:31:28so many great things
00:31:29will happen to our country.
00:31:30No tax on tips.
00:31:32Think of that.
00:31:33No tax for seniors
00:31:36on Social Security.
00:31:39No tax on overtime.
00:31:41They're going to pay
00:31:42for themselves.
00:31:44And if you get a car,
00:31:45and if you borrow money
00:31:46to buy the car,
00:31:47we're going to let you
00:31:47deduct the interest payment
00:31:49if it's a new car
00:31:50made in America.
00:31:51Only if it's made in America.
00:31:52If it's made in Japan
00:31:53or China
00:31:54or any place else,
00:31:55we're not really interested
00:31:56in your deduction.
00:31:59I was elected winning
00:32:01all seven swing states,
00:32:02the popular vote
00:32:03by millions and millions
00:32:04of votes
00:32:05in all counties
00:32:06throughout America
00:32:07by 2,750 to 525.
00:32:11That's what I call
00:32:12a big number.
00:32:14But this is a mandate
00:32:16from the people
00:32:16to restore the sovereign borders
00:32:18of the United States.
00:32:20And that is exactly
00:32:20what we're doing.
00:32:21Not only the borders,
00:32:23the financial institutions
00:32:25and our country itself.
00:32:27We will not be deterred.
00:32:30And the mob
00:32:30in Los Angeles
00:32:32or anyone else
00:32:33anywhere else
00:32:34will not succeed.
00:32:36They don't even have
00:32:36a little chance.
00:32:38And I will be calling you early
00:32:39as I see this happening
00:32:41because, you know,
00:32:42in theory,
00:32:43I guess you could say
00:32:44a governor could call,
00:32:45but they don't call.
00:32:46They let their city burn
00:32:47like in Minneapolis
00:32:49with this guy
00:32:50who ran for vice president
00:32:52against J.D.
00:32:53That was a good debate.
00:32:54J.D. against this guy.
00:32:55Remember how bad he was?
00:32:57That was one of the...
00:32:58I said, J.D.,
00:32:59there's never been a man
00:33:00like you're competing against.
00:33:02This is the worst.
00:33:03I think he's running
00:33:03for president, too.
00:33:04Can you believe it?
00:33:05But he's a radical left lunatic.
00:33:08And I'll never forget,
00:33:10in Minnesota,
00:33:13that city was burning down.
00:33:16Minneapolis was burning down.
00:33:17It was going to burn to the ground.
00:33:19And he wouldn't call the guard.
00:33:20and I waited for a long time
00:33:23and I called the guard
00:33:24and I saved it,
00:33:25but I wish I would have called it
00:33:26the first day.
00:33:27And I said,
00:33:27you know,
00:33:28if this ever happens again,
00:33:30because I was thinking about running
00:33:31because the election was rigged
00:33:32and stolen,
00:33:33we all know it.
00:33:34He said,
00:33:35we're going to run again
00:33:36and if I win,
00:33:37which I hope,
00:33:38remember,
00:33:38too big to,
00:33:39we're going to make it
00:33:39too big to rig.
00:33:41But we did.
00:33:42We won by millions
00:33:43and millions of votes.
00:33:44So beautiful to watch.
00:33:45That was such a beautiful...
00:33:469.02 in the evening.
00:33:48He said,
00:33:50ladies and gentlemen,
00:33:51Donald Trump
00:33:51is projected to be the winner.
00:33:53I said,
00:33:54wow.
00:33:56You think that was easy?
00:33:58I don't think these ladies
00:33:59from North Carolina
00:34:00think it was easy.
00:34:01You know,
00:34:01they followed me.
00:34:03I don't know what happened
00:34:04to their husbands.
00:34:05They're married
00:34:05to very nice people.
00:34:07But they've been to,
00:34:08what,
00:34:08138 rallies.
00:34:11They said more.
00:34:12And they're from North Carolina.
00:34:13It's nice that we have one
00:34:14nearby, finally, right?
00:34:16They go all over the country.
00:34:18I don't know
00:34:18what the hell's going on,
00:34:19but they're great.
00:34:20They're North Carolina,
00:34:21beautiful, wonderful woman.
00:34:23And we appreciate it.
00:34:24Like 130 rallies
00:34:26or some crazy number.
00:34:28Are your husband
00:34:28satisfied with that?
00:34:29Are they okay?
00:34:30Oh, here he is.
00:34:31He showed up.
00:34:32One of them showed up.
00:34:34That's great.
00:34:36Congratulations.
00:34:36Great women, actually.
00:34:38The great patriots.
00:34:39We will use every asset
00:34:41at our disposal
00:34:42to quell the violence
00:34:44and restore law and order
00:34:45right away.
00:34:45We're not going to wait
00:34:46seven days
00:34:47and eight days
00:34:47and wait for a governor
00:34:48that's never going to call
00:34:49and watch cities burn.
00:34:53And let me tell you,
00:34:54if we didn't do this,
00:34:55Los Angeles would burn,
00:34:56it would be burning
00:34:57to the ground right now,
00:34:58just like the houses
00:34:59burned to the ground
00:35:00just a few months ago.
00:35:03And the only flag
00:35:04that will wave triumphant
00:35:06over the streets
00:35:07of Los Angeles
00:35:07is the American flag.
00:35:09so help me God.
00:35:11The American flag
00:35:13is the one
00:35:13that's going to wave
00:35:15triumphantly
00:35:16over the streets.
00:35:19And now let's get back
00:35:20to the true reason
00:35:22we're here today
00:35:23celebrating 250 years
00:35:25of unbreakable
00:35:26army courage.

00:35:33but a turning point
00:35:35in the history
00:35:36of the world.
00:35:36that's how important it is.
00:35:39When the Continental Congress
00:35:40created the army
00:35:41and appointed
00:35:42its first commander,
00:35:44name happened
00:35:45to be George Washington.
00:35:46Has anybody heard of him?
00:35:47George Washington.
00:35:49Are you okay, darling?
00:35:51Are you all right?
00:35:52Take your time.
00:35:53Please.
00:35:54Doctor, please.
00:35:55Doctor.
00:35:56Doctor in the house.
00:35:58Thank you.
00:36:00Thank you very much.
00:36:03These are great people.
00:36:04They've been waiting here
00:36:05a long time.
00:36:06General, so, you know,
00:36:09we want to give them
00:36:10all the time
00:36:10they need, right?
00:36:12Thank you very much.
00:36:13Thank you very much.
00:36:29Greatest people in the world.
00:36:30They are amazing.

00:36:33Oh, good.
00:36:40Thank you very much.
00:36:42Thank you.
00:36:48Okay, honey.
00:36:49Thank you.
00:36:51Beautiful young person.
00:36:54Beautiful young person.
00:36:56We have a lot of young people.
00:36:57You know, they have...
00:36:59We want young people,
00:37:00old people,
00:37:01and everything in between.
00:37:03It's sort of nice.
00:37:03I remember they used to say,
00:37:05but Trump doesn't have the young people.
00:37:07We want...
00:37:07We want everything.
00:37:10Thank you very much, Doctor.
00:37:12Great job.
00:37:13When the Continental Congress
00:37:15created the army
00:37:16and appointed its first commander,
00:37:17General George Washington,
00:37:19they sent the fierce spirit
00:37:20of a free nation into battle
00:37:22under a rallying cry
00:37:24that echoes to this day,
00:37:27give me liberty
00:37:28or give me death.
00:37:29Have you heard of it?
00:37:30Quite a beautiful statement.
00:37:34Think of what that means.
00:37:35Give me liberty
00:37:36or give me death.
00:37:37I know exactly what that means.
00:37:39Just three days
00:37:40after the birth
00:37:41of the army,
00:37:42the great patriot,
00:37:44founding father,
00:37:45Dr. Joseph Warren,
00:37:47was on the front lines
00:37:48as their soldiers
00:37:49stood totally outnumbered
00:37:52and outgunned
00:37:53at Bunker Hill.
00:37:54They had a group of soldiers
00:37:56against them
00:37:57that was supposed to be,
00:37:58in that day,
00:37:59unbeatable.
00:38:01Warren's mother
00:38:02had begged him,
00:38:04son, please don't do it.
00:38:05She said,
00:38:06please, please don't do it.
00:38:07Don't risk your life
00:38:08for even the patriot cause.
00:38:11please.
00:38:12And he replied,
00:38:14wherever danger is,
00:38:17dear mother,
00:38:19there your son will be.
00:38:21I will either
00:38:22set my country free
00:38:23or shed my last drop of blood
00:38:25to make us so,
00:38:27so beautiful,
00:38:28so,
00:38:28the words are so beautiful.
00:38:30At Bunker Hill,
00:38:31Warren kept his vow
00:38:32fighting and fighting
00:38:33and fighting
00:38:34and loving his country
00:38:35until he fell,
00:38:37drenched in blood
00:38:38and gave his life.
00:38:39At the very young age
00:38:41of 34,
00:38:42exactly 250 years later,
00:38:46we are joined
00:38:46by Dr. Warren's
00:38:48great, great,
00:38:49great, great,
00:38:49great grandson.
00:38:52And it's
00:38:52seven generations down.
00:38:55And now,
00:38:56an Iraq war veteran,
00:38:58retired army specialist,
00:39:01Scott Warren,
00:39:02is here with his daughter,
00:39:05Sergeant E-5 Carrington Sanders
00:39:07of Fort Irwin.
00:39:09I want to just,
00:39:09where are you?
00:39:10Where would you be
00:39:11in this big crowd?
00:39:15Thank you very much.
00:39:16What an honor.
00:39:19What an honor.
00:39:20You look great, too,
00:39:24by the way.
00:39:25You really look great.
00:39:26Thank you very much.
00:39:28What a great family.
00:39:30But you carry in your veins
00:39:31the love and devotion
00:39:32of a martyr
00:39:34for American liberty.
00:39:37Please stand.
00:39:38Just put that hand up
00:39:40once more for the people
00:39:41because they want.
00:39:42Thank you very much.
00:39:43You're looking good.
00:39:45Looking good.
00:39:46Good genes.
00:39:46Good genetics.
00:39:49Thank you both.
00:39:51Thank you very much.
00:39:53The life of a soldier
00:39:54is not just a job.
00:39:56It's a calling
00:39:57and a sacred tradition
00:39:59passed down
00:40:00from father to son,
00:40:01brother to sister,
00:40:03and one generation
00:40:04to the next.
00:40:05At every hour of danger,
00:40:07our noblest citizens
00:40:08have answered that call.
00:40:11Kiss their loved ones goodbye
00:40:12and run to the sound of guns.
00:40:15You run to the sound of guns.
00:40:17You're running right into them.
00:40:18You're going to win.
00:40:20When the British tried
00:40:21to reconquer
00:40:22our young nation in 1812,
00:40:251,000 Americans
00:40:26at Fort McHenry
00:40:27fought off
00:40:28a British invasion fleet,
00:40:305,000 strong.
00:40:32They say it was unstoppable.
00:40:35Lieutenant Francis Scott Key,
00:40:37you all heard the name,
00:40:38watched from Baltimore Harbor
00:40:40as the Army kept
00:40:41old glory flying high.
00:40:44and many people died.
00:40:46Deeply inspired,
00:40:47he wrote a poem
00:40:48in tribute to Army courage
00:40:50and American pride
00:40:51known today
00:40:52as the Star Spangled Banner
00:40:55or our National Anthem.
00:40:58Great.
00:40:59Eight generations later,
00:41:00we're joined by
00:41:01a descendant of Francis Scott Key
00:41:04who has spent
00:41:05two decades in uniform,
00:41:07Major Kyle Key
00:41:08of Army National Guard fame.
00:41:13Please, Major,
00:41:15where are you, Major?
00:41:19Thank you.
00:41:21Thank you.
00:41:22Looking good, too.
00:41:23What's going on here?
00:41:24These guys are...
00:41:25They all come from
00:41:27a very fine strain of blood.
00:41:30That's great genetics is right.
00:41:32Thank you both very much.
00:41:33Major Key,
00:41:35thank you for helping
00:41:36to keep this
00:41:37incredible land of ours
00:41:39free
00:41:39and the home of the brave,
00:41:41and that's what it was.
00:41:43Through the decades
00:41:44that followed
00:41:45the Army conquered,
00:41:46the great frontier,
00:41:47won the war
00:41:48that restored our nation
00:41:49and broke
00:41:50forever the chains
00:41:52of slavery.
00:41:53A generation later,
00:41:55the Army's Rough Riders
00:41:56stormed up San Juan Hill
00:41:58with Colonel
00:41:59Theodore Roosevelt
00:42:01and swept the last
00:42:03foreign empire
00:42:04from the American Hemisphere.
00:42:08Forever, forever swept.
00:42:10In World War I,
00:42:12our doughboys fought bravely
00:42:14in the Valley of the Marne
00:42:15and in the Argonne.
00:42:19There in 1918,
00:42:20a devout Tennessee Christian
00:42:22named Alvin York,
00:42:23you know that name,
00:42:25charged across an open field
00:42:26towards the German machine guns.
00:42:29They were firing
00:42:29at levels at that time
00:42:32that nobody had ever seen before.
00:42:34They were knocking down
00:42:35everything in their way,
00:42:36including giant trees
00:42:38were coming down.
00:42:39The enemy mowed down
00:42:41more than half of his platoon
00:42:44almost immediately.
00:42:46The platoon was going down
00:42:49like nobody's ever
00:42:51thought possible.
00:42:53But York pressed on
00:42:55into the jaws of death.
00:42:56He slayed German after German
00:42:58and returned with 132 prisoners
00:43:01from behind the enemy lines.
00:43:03And he had the option
00:43:05of killing them
00:43:06and he didn't want to do that.
00:43:07And that's okay, isn't it?
00:43:08Right?
00:43:09It's okay.
00:43:11But he brought 132 back
00:43:13and his actions
00:43:15and the actions
00:43:17of that great day,
00:43:18a crazy but great day.
00:43:20Sergeant York earned
00:43:21the Congressional Medal of Honor
00:43:23and became one of the most famed
00:43:25and decorated heroes
00:43:27of the First World War.
00:43:30Very famous, actually,
00:43:31because of the movie
00:43:32that was made.
00:43:34And we're joined today
00:43:35by Sergeant York's grandson,
00:43:36Army Colonel,

00:43:53Thank you, Gerald.
00:43:54At his grandfather's funeral
00:43:56in 1964,
00:43:57Gerald was told
00:43:58by the Command Sergeant Major
00:44:00of Fort Bragg
00:44:01that it was about time
00:44:03he joined the Army.
00:44:05And he volunteered
00:44:07for combat in Vietnam

00:44:29And in World War II,
00:44:31the Army once again
00:44:32came to the Free World's
00:44:34rescue.
00:44:34Among the millions
00:44:36and millions
00:44:37who volunteered
00:44:37was Henry Armstrong.
00:44:40He enlisted six months
00:44:41before his high school graduation
00:44:43and did basic training
00:44:45right here at Fort Bragg.
00:44:47By the next year,
00:44:48he was in Normandy.
00:44:50He fought his way
00:44:51across France
00:44:52as part of Patton's Third Army,
00:44:55crossed the Rhine
00:44:56into the heart of Germany
00:44:57and helped liberate
00:44:58a Nazi concentration camp.
00:45:00He was a brave person.
00:45:02Command Sergeant Major
00:45:04Henry Armstrong
00:45:05is here with us today.
00:45:06He's 100 years old,

00:46:00staff sergeant
00:46:01in the 82nd Airborne
00:46:03right here in Fort Bragg.
00:46:05He could right now run for office,
00:46:07I think.
00:46:07He's very popular.
00:46:09In Korea,
00:46:09our warriors held the front line
00:46:11in the battle against communism
00:46:13and liberated millions and millions
00:46:15into the light of freedom.
00:46:17To Vietnam,
00:46:18we sent some of the toughest men
00:46:20who ever wore army boots
00:46:22and olive drab.
00:46:25One of them was Joe Marm of Pennsylvania.
00:46:28He was 23 years old
00:46:30when his platoon was ordered
00:46:32to rescue soldiers
00:46:33surrounded by the enemy
00:46:34in the battle of Yadrang.
00:46:39Lieutenant Marm charged into heavy fire,
00:46:43killing four enemy soldiers in the brush
00:46:45before sprinting across 40 yards of open field.
00:46:48His teammates could not believe
00:46:51he was doing it, actually, they said.
00:46:53He then tossed a grenade
00:46:55that killed eight Viet Cong gunners,
00:46:57plunged into the trenches,
00:46:58and killed still more
00:46:59before being shot in the jaw,
00:47:03badly in the jaw.
00:47:04He successfully cleared the way
00:47:06for his men to save their stranded comrades,
00:47:10and frankly,
00:47:10for his men to save their own lives.
00:47:13He was unbelievable.
00:47:14For his exceptional bravery,
00:47:16Lieutenant Marm received
00:47:18the Congressional Medal of Honor
00:47:19and retired as an army colonel
00:47:22after 30 years of service.
00:47:23Colonel Marm is here today
00:47:25with his two sons,

00:47:28both army rangers.
00:47:31What a great family legacy.
00:47:32Please stand up.
00:47:36How's your jaw feeling?
00:47:41All right?
00:47:42The jaw?
00:47:42It's all right.
00:47:43It looks pretty good.
00:47:45I wish mine looked that good.
00:47:46It's very good.
00:47:48Thank you very much.
00:47:49Great family.
00:47:50Appreciate it.
00:47:51Real heroes.
00:47:52In the modern era,
00:47:53soldiers have charged
00:47:55into the darkest caves
00:47:56and ventured into
00:47:57the most God-forsaken places
00:48:00to vanquish the forces
00:48:01of radical Islamic terror
00:48:03from the face of the earth.
00:48:05In 2007,
00:48:07Chief Warrant Officer Eric Phillips
00:48:09was stationed at a remote outpost
00:48:12in the Afghan mountains
00:48:14when a massive Taliban force
00:48:16attacked from all sides.
00:48:17He thought he was finished.
00:48:20For three hours,
00:48:21he led a hellacious counter-assault
00:48:23to successfully repulse the enemy
00:48:25in close combat.
00:48:26in the same deployment,
00:48:28Eric again repelled an attack
00:48:30by a vastly larger enemy force,
00:48:32saving countless lives.
00:48:34For his spectacular gallantry,
00:48:36Chief Phillips earned
00:48:38the Distinguished Service Cross
00:48:39and the Silver Star,
00:48:41becoming among the most highly decorated warriors
00:48:43of any branch
00:48:45in the war on terror.
00:48:48Actually,
00:48:49he is the most decorated
00:48:51and it's not even that close.
00:48:54Many, many battles,
00:48:55many, many medals.
00:48:57And he's with us today,
00:48:58Chief Phillips.
00:49:00You did us all proud.
00:49:01Please stand up,
00:49:03Chief Phillips.
00:49:04Thank you.
00:49:05Thank you very much.
00:49:06Thank you.
00:49:08You are Army strong.
00:49:15Thank you very much, Chief.

00:49:21is the tale of an unbroken chain
00:49:23of American patriots
00:49:24who gave all they had
00:49:26for this country.
00:49:28It is the saga of epic men
00:49:31like Washington and Jackson,
00:49:33Grant and Custer,
00:49:35Pershing and Eisenhower,
00:49:36Patton,

00:49:40Wild Bill Donovan
00:49:41and the great general
00:49:42William Yarborough,
00:49:44father of the Green Berets.
00:49:46You know that,
00:49:46the Green Berets?
00:49:47You know that,
00:49:48William Yarborough?
00:49:50It's the story
00:49:50of fabled units
00:49:51like the Old Guard,
00:49:54the Iron Brigade,
00:49:55the Big Red One,
00:49:56the Buffalo Soldiers,
00:49:58the Harlem Hellfighters,
00:50:00the Tuskegee Airmen,
00:50:02the Screaming Eagles
00:50:03and George Patton's
00:50:04Hell on Wheels.
00:50:05They called it
00:50:06Hell on Wheels.
00:50:07When he was after you,
00:50:08it was not good.
00:50:10The weapons of war
00:50:11have changed
00:50:11with every generation,
00:50:13but the unflinching loyalty
00:50:15of the American soldier
00:50:16has always remained the same.
00:50:20The Army has always stayed true
00:50:21to its motto,
00:50:23this wheel defend.
00:50:25You know that,
00:50:25this wheel defend.
00:50:28Army warriors
00:50:29who have laid down
00:50:30their lives for America
00:50:32rest by the thousands
00:50:34in the sacred soil
00:50:35of Arlington
00:50:36and Gettysburg,
00:50:38Anzio and Manila,
00:50:40and to far-off places
00:50:42known only to God.
00:50:45We owe everything to them.
00:50:48Today, we renew our devotion
00:50:49to the cause of liberty
00:50:51for which they
00:50:52so selflessly lived
00:50:54and fought
00:50:54and so bravely died.
00:50:56there could be
00:50:58no greater tribute
00:50:59to their memory
00:51:00than to prepare the Army
00:51:01to dominate America's enemies
00:51:03for the next 250 years
00:51:05and more than that.
00:51:07That's why,
00:51:08under the Trump administration,
00:51:09we're focused on restoring
00:51:11the spirit
00:51:12of the U.S. armed forces.
00:51:14No soldier ever volunteered
00:51:16for the Army
00:51:17to be lectured about
00:51:19transgender diversity
00:51:21or inclusion.
00:51:22You don't want to hear that.
00:51:25Transgender for everybody.
00:51:27We don't do that.
00:51:29America's patriots
00:51:30joined the Army
00:51:30to kick down doors,
00:51:32storm beaches,
00:51:33kill terrorists,
00:51:34and win America's wars.
00:51:35That's what we want.
00:51:36And that's what you want.
00:51:45And to that end,
00:51:47we're making that record investment,
00:51:49but not only in the Army
00:51:51and the other forces also
00:51:53because you work together
00:51:54as a team
00:51:55and we're including in that
00:51:57and across the board.
00:51:58Now, you don't have to take this
00:51:59if you don't want.
00:52:00You could be great patriots,
00:52:02say,
00:52:02I don't want a raise.
00:52:04I do not,
00:52:04I will not accept it.
00:52:05Let it go back
00:52:06into our country.
00:52:07Let's give it to Gary,
00:52:09Gavin Newsom
00:52:10so he can waste it
00:52:11in Los Angeles.
00:52:13No, we don't want to do that,
00:52:14but we're giving you
00:52:15across the board
00:52:16raise for every single
00:52:18service member
00:52:18in the U.S. armed forces.
00:52:20we're giving you
00:52:20across the board
00:52:21and you deserve it.
00:52:27You know,
00:52:27we spend so much money
00:52:28on things
00:52:29that we shouldn't
00:52:29be spending it on,
00:52:31but I think those days
00:52:32are stopping Mr. Senators
00:52:34and congressmen
00:52:35that are with us.
00:52:36As part of our
00:52:37one big, beautiful bill,
00:52:38we are also investing
00:52:40over $1 billion
00:52:41to update
00:52:42your on-base housing
00:52:43and we're building
00:52:45a state-of-the-art
00:52:46missile defense shield
00:52:47to protect our homeland
00:52:48and it's called
00:52:49the Golden Dome.
00:52:50It's going to be
00:52:51all made in America.
00:52:55We've done it for others.
00:52:56We're now doing it
00:52:57about time, right?
00:52:58We're doing it
00:52:59for ourselves.
00:53:00After years
00:53:01of recruiting shortfalls,
00:53:02this is, to me,
00:53:03maybe the most exciting
00:53:04things.
00:53:05We're setting
00:53:06the strongest
00:53:07peacetime recruiting records
00:53:08ever.
00:53:09just think of this.
00:53:12Six months ago,
00:53:13we couldn't recruit
00:53:13anybody to join
00:53:14the military.
00:53:15Nobody wanted to join.
00:53:17It was six months ago
00:53:18and then we had
00:53:20the election
00:53:20of November 5th
00:53:21and now we have
00:53:23the strongest
00:53:23recruiting numbers
00:53:25in the history
00:53:26of our country.
00:53:27Can you imagine that?
00:53:29Can you imagine that?
00:53:33We've already
00:53:34surpassed
00:53:34our recruiting targets
00:53:35for 2025
00:53:36and we're not done yet.
00:53:39and I'll tell you,
00:53:40it doesn't make you
00:53:41feel good
00:53:41when you had to hear
00:53:42six, seven months ago
00:53:44that nobody wants
00:53:45to join the army,
00:53:46they don't want
00:53:46to join our military.
00:53:47Frankly, they didn't
00:53:48want to join our police,
00:53:49our firemen.
00:53:51They lost confidence,
00:53:52they lost faith
00:53:53in our country
00:53:54and just a short
00:53:57number of months later,
00:53:59we're setting
00:53:59all-time records.
00:54:01In fact,
00:54:02your job might be
00:54:03in jeopardy.
00:54:03Somebody else may come
00:54:04in and take it.
00:54:05That was bad.
00:54:06We'll get you out of here.
00:54:07You have to be good.
00:54:08We're getting the best
00:54:09people that you've
00:54:10ever seen.
00:54:10We're getting people
00:54:11that like,
00:54:13I don't think we've
00:54:13ever seen anything
00:54:14like it.
00:54:15Great people
00:54:15are coming in.
00:54:16Doesn't it make you
00:54:17feel good, though,
00:54:18you have something
00:54:18and you're doing
00:54:19something and other
00:54:20people want to join you?
00:54:21Isn't that a great
00:54:21feeling?
00:54:23Now, wasn't it a lousy
00:54:24feeling just a short
00:54:25time ago when they
00:54:26announced, you know,
00:54:27you're a soldier
00:54:28and you're proud
00:54:29of your country
00:54:30and you're proud
00:54:31of the army
00:54:32in your case
00:54:33and you're reading
00:54:34stories about nobody
00:54:35wants to come in
00:54:36and join the military,
00:54:37right?
00:54:37Isn't that lousy?
00:54:38even the ladies
00:54:39from North Carolina
00:54:40were not happy
00:54:41with that.
00:54:42But then we had
00:54:43a great election.
00:54:44It was amazing.
00:54:45Too big to rig.
00:54:47We had a great election
00:54:48and all of a sudden
00:54:49the people
00:54:51are pouring in
00:54:52and we have
00:54:52incredible people
00:54:53like Pete
00:54:53and the others
00:54:55that are here,
00:54:55Dan.
00:54:57I think they made
00:54:57a big difference.
00:54:58I really do.
00:54:59So thank you very much.
00:55:00All of you guys,
00:55:01I think you've really
00:55:01made a big difference.
00:55:03The army will soon
00:55:04be stronger,
00:55:05bigger,
00:55:06and better
00:55:07than ever before.
00:55:09And every new soldier
00:55:10that joins our ranks
00:55:11will kindle
00:55:12the same fighting spirit
00:55:14exemplified by the likes
00:55:16of Sergeant Major
00:55:17Jim Schmidt,
00:55:18who's no longer
00:55:20with us.
00:55:20At 15 years old,
00:55:22after lying about his age
00:55:24because he wanted
00:55:26to get in so badly,
00:55:28Jim trained at Fort Bragg
00:55:29to fight in World War II.
00:55:32When Jim's middle school
00:55:33wrote to ask
00:55:34if he would attend
00:55:36his eighth grade graduation,
00:55:37he wrote back,
00:55:38that will be impossible
00:55:39as I'm rather busy now.
00:55:43I'm in the hinterlands
00:55:45hunting down Germans,
00:55:47and I have to say this,
00:55:48and Italians.
00:55:49I know there are a couple
00:55:50of Germans and Italians here.
00:55:52As a paratrooper,
00:55:53he made the famous drops
00:55:56at Sicily and Salerno
00:55:57while still a young boy,
00:55:59too young to be in.
00:56:01The Army kicked him out.
00:56:02They found out about it.
00:56:03They kicked him out.
00:56:04They discovered
00:56:05he was way underage.
00:56:06They said,
00:56:07Jim, you've got to get out of here.
00:56:08You're a hell of a soldier,
00:56:09but you've got to get out.
00:56:10But that didn't stop Jim.
00:56:12He enlisted in the Navy.
00:56:14But the moment
00:56:15he turned 18,
00:56:16he came right back
00:56:17and he joined
00:56:19the 82nd Airborne.
00:56:20How about that?
00:56:25He went on
00:56:26to fight at the
00:56:27Chosun Reservoir
00:56:28in Korea,
00:56:29a rough place.
00:56:31Saw combat in Vietnam
00:56:32and ended his career
00:56:34right back at Fort Bragg,
00:56:36having earned
00:56:36two silver stars,
00:56:38three bronze stars,
00:56:39and two purple hearts.
00:56:41With us today
00:56:42is Jim's widow, Peggy,
00:56:44and their beloved grandson,
00:56:46Army specialist,
00:56:47Christian Forbes,
00:56:48who is currently deployed
00:56:49at our southern border,
00:56:51defending our country
00:56:52from an invasion.
00:56:54Whether we like it or not,
00:56:55it's an invasion.
00:56:56But I don't know
00:56:57if you've heard,
00:56:59the invasion
00:56:59was 99.9% stopped.
00:57:03Did you hear that?
00:57:0399?
00:57:04Could even be more right.
00:57:0599.999% stopped.
00:57:09That invasion is stopped.
00:57:10So I think he's in good shape.
00:57:13Specialist Forbes,
00:57:14I want to thank you
00:57:14for defending America.
00:57:15and you've obviously
00:57:17done a good job
00:57:18because that invasion
00:57:19has been stopped
00:57:20and we appreciate
00:57:21you being here.
00:57:21Thank you,
00:57:22wherever you may be.
00:57:24Thank you very much.
00:57:25Thank you.
00:57:26Very much.
00:57:27Great.
00:57:28We stopped that sucker,
00:57:29didn't we, huh?
00:57:31We stopped it.
00:57:32Thank you very much.
00:57:34Each and every one of you
00:57:35here today
00:57:35carries in your souls
00:57:36the love, strength,
00:57:38and courage
00:57:38of millions upon millions
00:57:40of Army patriots
00:57:41who came before you.
00:57:43and your uniforms
00:57:45bear the same stars
00:57:46and stripes
00:57:47that our ancestors
00:57:48carried to victory
00:57:49at Yorktown
00:57:50across the Great Plains
00:57:51and over our Rockies
00:57:54up the Missionary Ridge
00:57:56down through the streets
00:57:58of Paris.
00:57:58That's right.
00:57:59We went down
00:57:59the streets of Paris.
00:58:01We've got to help
00:58:01our allies, don't we?
00:58:04Across the sands
00:58:05of North Africa
00:58:06and onto the shores
00:58:07of Omaha Beach
00:58:08into the blood-soaked hills
00:58:10of Korea.
00:58:12And it was a West Point
00:58:13graduate named
00:58:14Buzz Aldrin
00:58:15who first planted
00:58:17our great American flag
00:58:19on the face of the moon.
00:58:20We know that.
00:58:21Now it's your turn
00:58:22to carry that flag forward
00:58:24and to add your own
00:58:25daring deeds
00:58:26into this chronicle
00:58:28of triumph
00:58:28and legends.
00:58:30Now it's your duty
00:58:31to shield
00:58:32the flame of freedom
00:58:33that was first lit
00:58:34250 years ago
00:58:37by the heroes
00:58:38of Concord Bridge
00:58:40and Bunker Hill.
00:58:41standing before you today
00:58:43I am more confident
00:58:44than ever
00:58:45that in the days ahead
00:58:47and every generation
00:58:49to come
00:58:49the U.S. Army
00:58:50will heap glory
00:58:52upon glory
00:58:53upon glory
00:58:55upon us all.
00:58:57You will protect
00:58:58every inch
00:58:59of U.S. soil
00:59:00and you will defend
00:59:02America
00:59:02to the ends
00:59:03of the earth.
00:59:05Wherever danger is
00:59:06there
00:59:07the U.S. Army
00:59:08will be.
00:59:10Another beautiful phrase.
00:59:13Whatever peril
00:59:13comes our way
00:59:14whatever menace
00:59:16threatens our people
00:59:17you will stand strong
00:59:19you will be proud
00:59:20you will charge hard
00:59:22and you will keep
00:59:23that flame lit.
00:59:25That beautiful
00:59:26beautiful flame
00:59:27you're going to keep it lit.
00:59:28You will hold
00:59:30the flag high
00:59:31and
00:59:31you will do something
00:59:33that's become
00:59:34quite a famous
00:59:35little phrase also
00:59:37but you're a hell of a lot
00:59:39braver than me
00:59:40you will fight
00:59:41fight fight
00:59:42and you will win
00:59:43win win.
00:59:44Thank you
00:59:45God bless you
00:59:46God bless our soldiers
00:59:47and God bless
00:59:48the U.S. Army
00:59:49thank you very much.
00:59:51Thank you everybody.
