00:02The Top 10 Richest People in the World June 2025
00:07Elon Musk added $36 billion to his fortune in May, as he stepped down from his distracting
00:13role as head of President Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.
00:19That plus Tesla's announcement that the launch of its robo-taxi is scheduled for June, sent
00:23shares of Musk's most valuable asset soaring by 23% over the last month, further cementing
00:29Musk's status as the world's wealthiest person by far, worth an estimated $423 billion at
00:37the start of June.
00:39As a group, the Top 10 kick off June worth $1.9 trillion combined, up $140 billion since
00:47May 1st.

01:03Forbes tracks the daily changes on our real-time list of billionaires.
01:07Forbes has been keeping track of the world's billionaires since 1987.
01:11In April 2025, we found 3,028 of them for our annual list.
01:17Musk isn't the only billionaire who got richer in May.
01:20In fact, 8 of the world's 10 wealthiest people saw their fortunes grow over the last month,
01:26including the next biggest gainer, Meta's Mark Zuckerberg.
01:30A $34 billion jump in Zuckerberg's fortune moved him up one spot to the world's second-richest
01:36person, with $224 billion, and overtaking Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
01:43The Meta CEO grabbed the number 2 spot after his company's shares soared by 18%, despite
01:49an 11% increase in Amazon's stock price, which boosted Bezos' net worth by $19 billion to
01:55an estimated $220 billion, landing him in the number 3 spot.
02:01The rise in fortunes of the world's top 10 richest came as the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 rebounded
02:07from a volatile April.
02:09The stock indices climbed by 10% and 6% in May, respectively, as corporate earnings for
02:15the first quarter of 2025 came in better than expected.
02:20Tariff-related trade tensions eased between the US and key trading partners like the EU
02:24and the UK, and US consumer confidence improved moderately for the first time in six months.
02:31Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, ranked number 10 last month, overtook Spanish fast fashion
02:37mogul Amancio Ortega of Inditex, known for its Zara chain, to move into the number 9 spot.
02:44Ballmer's fortune grew by $15 billion to an estimated $133 billion, thanks to a 16% increase
02:51in Microsoft's stock price.
02:54America's net worth barely budged, inching up $600 million to an estimated $124 billion,
03:00as shares of Inditex remained relatively flat.
03:05Warren Buffett was this month's biggest loser.
03:07His fortune fell by $9 billion to an estimated $158 billion, due to a 5% slide in the shares
03:15of his conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway.
03:18The decline came after the 94-year-old, who is known as the Oracle of Omaha, announced in
03:23early May his planned retirement as CEO at the end of this year.
03:28French luxury goods tycoon Bernard Arnault's net worth also dropped by $3 billion to an
03:33estimated $144 billion, as shares of his conglomerate, LVMH, dipped by 2%.
03:41Both Buffett and Arnault keep their spots from last month, at number 5 and 6, respectively.
03:47After Musk, Zuckerberg and Bezos in the 1-2-3 positions on our list, and at number 4, keeping
03:52his rank from the prior month, is Larry Ellison, the co-founder of software firm Oracle, with
03:58a net worth of $206 billion.
