His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, King and Queen of Malaysia, have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students who perished in a tragic bus accident in Perak, early Monday (June 9).

00:09have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the 15 University Pendidikan
00:14Sultan Idris students who perished in a tragic bus accident in Perak on Monday morning.
00:19In a Facebook post shared on the King's official page, Their Majesties conveyed deep sorrow
00:24over the tragedy and offered prayers that the bereaved families be granted strength,
00:28patience and ease during this profoundly difficult time.
00:32Their Majesties also prayed for the swift recovery of those who were injured
00:36and are currently receiving treatment.
00:38The fatal collision occurred at Kilometer 53 of the East-West Highway
00:43near Tasikbanding in Geirik at around 1.10 a.m.
00:46The crash involved a chartered bus ferrying the University students back to their campus in Tanjongmalim
00:52and a multi-purpose vehicle travelling in the same direction from Geirik to Geirik.
00:57A total of 48 victims were accounted for, including 15 who perished.
01:02Seven victims remain in critical condition and have been admitted to the red zone at Geirik hospital,
01:08while 20 are being treated for semi-critical injuries and six for minor injuries.
01:14Police said a special task force has been formed to investigate the incident.
01:27A female's second task force has been attempted for an obstacle.
