so we're in the old school and this house belongs to and that be you so you're kind
00:23
of event organizer as well aren't you yes i am what part of a small team yeah organize the arts trail
00:30
every year how long has it been going for now the arts trail oh right probably about eight years
00:36
yeah um started being you know we had a few years before covid and then a break and then
00:42
since then and how many different venues do you have roughly across the across the town
00:46
we've got about 33 venues yeah uh well over 70 artists wow and they're generally all kind of
00:54
fairly local artists as well aren't they they are that that's the idea of the of the trail
00:59
yeah local artists and is it is it strange having strangers just wandering into your house or is it
01:07
quite nice to show off this beautiful property it's lovely yeah we have such interesting conversations
01:12
with everybody yeah about about the house and the art so was it an old school literally it was yes
01:19
so how long ago was it a school roughly oh probably over 100 years ago i'm just wondering if you remains
01:24
in the in the back garden yeah i'm just wondering if you ever have kind of people going in going
01:29
my nan used to come to school here do you know what i mean not yet not yet no no well there's always
01:34
time and um we've got one of your artists featured that's me that's me fanfare what's your name madam
01:43
my name's linda kemshall so you'll seize them she's only just down the road isn't it really
01:47
this is just a few miles away this is my local town cool so just grab a couple of pieces of your art
01:53
then talk us through what you're kind of what you're all about then well i do watercolors so um i've got
01:58
some paintings here yeah that's a magnolia stellata from my garden beautiful yeah i've got a few
02:05
stitched um textiles as well so you can oh that's stitching oh nice yeah of course now you've said it
02:12
oh where was that this is my first arts trail here yeah and it's the first time i've ever shown my
02:20
paintings so there's quite a selection of paintings here so what so it's it just a hobby for you you do
02:27
the paintings and they're kind of this has been my bread and butter for a long time yeah i've been
02:33
teaching online mainly oh wow so how is it to be exhibiting then well this is fun i exhibit all over
02:41
the place all over the world actually but maybe my quilts this is the first time with my paintings
02:46
oh i've got you okay there are a couple of quilts here as you can see oh so this is your quilt as well
02:50
that's um i'll tell you what then go on just to come over so okay so what's um what's the story
02:57
with the writing then that's around it around the edge on this one this one is do you know i wasn't
03:03
meant to be bringing my quilts but yeah i was told i could exhibit on top of a grand piano
03:07
yeah i thought i needed to to push in it to protect the piano so i just bought one of my large quilts
03:13
this one's called to the brim it's inspired by um a painting by paul clay an austrian painter
03:21
yeah and his painting is called ad marginum which means to the brim so you can't see much of it
03:27
because there's all of my paintings sitting on top but well we can see it's it's it's a large quilt
03:33
it's quite elaborate quite complex yeah a lot of stitching so let's have a look at some of these
03:39
paintings so it's very much kind of uh the paintings nature isn't it then and nature is my inspiration
03:45
so it's either the birds i see in my garden or the plants and things you know the peonies and
