Father and Daughter Duo Steve Zahn and Audrey Zahn Gush about Working Together in Her Feature Film Debut, She Dances

She Dances stars Steve Zahn and Audrey Zahn were all smiles on the red carpet for the Tribeca Festival premiere at the SVA Theater in New York City last night. Steve Zahn who plays opposite his daughter also served as writer on the film that follows a father and daughter as they attempt to repair their relationship and reconcile a shared tragedy against the backdrop of the "Young Miss Southeast Regional Dance Finals.' Director, writer and producer, Rick Gomez and the cast including Dance Mom 's Mackenzie Ziegler and Sonequa Martin-Green were also there to chat about the new dance flick. 00:13It was so unique experience to work with your daughter, but at the same time, my compliment

00:19to her and the project was, it was like any other gig, too.

00:23Because she's a pro, and we were prepared, and we knew what we were doing.

00:28It was like working with another great actress.

00:31He's taught me everything I know.

00:39I got the privilege to be in She Dances, and my character is named Kat, and she is almost

00:44identical to me, so it was really, really fun to play her and learn her a bit, and also

00:50getting to dance again was like the most special thing for me because I grew up dancing.

00:54I don't get to dance as much just because I'm always balancing other things, but I think

00:58that's why this project was so special for me because it kind of brought out this newfound

01:03love for dance for me again, which was so special.

01:06I play her dance teacher that has been with her, has been a sort of second mom to her her

01:14whole life, and I'm based on a real person named Jamie.

01:17His name is Jamie Harviner, and he was her dance teacher from when she was wee little.

01:21It's like stepping into a family, and they've treated me that way, and I'm so grateful.
