00:00I think lots of us, when we think about how we live our lives today, a lot of the things
00:04that we do, from doing our shopping to organising a night out with friends, we do at the touch
00:12of a button. And the NHS feels so 20th century. The fact that people still get letters through
00:19the front door, sometimes multiple letters about the same appointment, sometimes getting
00:25letters after the appointment has arrived, shows that the NHS that's always been changing,
00:31evolving, has been stuck in the mud when it comes to the everyday technology we use to
00:37organise our lives. And that's why what we're doing with the NHS app is really exciting.
00:42It means more ease and convenience, choice and control for patients. It's also going
00:47to make sure we put about 50 million fewer letters in the post. So big saving and making
00:52sure that the investment the Chancellor is giving us for the NHS, and frankly, you the
00:58public are giving us to invest in your NHS, and make sure we're spending every penny on
01:04the things that will really make a difference for your care, at the same time making the experience
01:08of using the NHS more easy and convenient like other aspects of our lives.
