00:00I really hope that Krusty's still not bitter that he lost in ratings to Channel Ocho.
00:04Here's a look at the brand new Jack specific, this Simpsons, Bumblebee Man.
00:22Here we have, folks, a man dressed as a bumblebee.
00:25And I'm sure in a moment, Bumblebee Man will be telling Ethan, the director, that it's the same old tired gag.
00:29But I haven't grown at all tired with what we've been getting from Jack specific.
00:32They've been knocking out of the park when it comes to the Simpsons figures.
00:34And when you look at a character like Bumblebee Man and you realize how early into this series that we've gotten him, that's pretty good.
00:41That's pretty good indeed.
00:42Now, of course, when it comes to Bumblebee Man, he is part of this same wave of the Carl and the Barney Gumbel that we've already had a look at.
00:49The only figure that we haven't yet looked at from this four figure wave is a reuse of the Bart Simpson.
00:54Now, this part, though, that's part of this wave.
00:56Still, while having, though, the skateboard, I feel like that probably could have been an opportunity to give him something different.
01:01I mean, come on.
01:02Does he need to have a skateboard every single time?
01:04He is, though, going to have the Malibu Stacy treatment.
01:06Instead of having the regular red outfit shirt, he's going to have a blue one instead.
01:11We're going to be looking at that one a little bit later on.
01:14Back, though, to Bumblebee Man.
01:16Whereabouts do we want to measure this guy?
01:17To his antenna or to his head?
01:20Technically, the head is where the figure will stop.
01:22The antenna is just essentially a thing on top of his head.
01:24Maybe what we'll do is we'll go to the top of his head.
01:27While I'm doing this as well, I'd also like to thank Popeye the Toy Man.
01:31A Facebook seller on Facebook, of course.
01:34And I actually ordered this or bought this directly from him.
01:37Bumblebee Man apparently is going for some stupid money online.
01:39And he'd have to luckily pay as stupid of that money from Popeye the Toy Man.
01:43So thank him for that.
01:44As for Bumblebee Man's height, you're looking at the figure standing four and a quarter inches in height.
01:48That's, of course, not including the antenna.
01:50That translates, though, to a figure that's ten and a quarter centimeters tall.
01:54Speaking of Bart Simpson, even though it isn't blue shirt Bart, here's what the figure looks like with Bart Simpson than we've gotten before.
02:00Careful not to be around Crusty O'Connor in case he steals your shtick.
02:04Here's what the figure looks like with him.
02:05And while, of course, we're bringing in a couple of characters known for their TV roles, here's also what he looks like with both Itchy and Scratchy.
02:11Now, Itchy and Scratchy were released in the 2.5-inch scale.
02:15I can't imagine anybody that didn't pick up these figures specifically to be displayed with a larger scale.
02:20Here's also what he looks like, speaking of characters that maybe would be watching his series on TV if they're not watching Crusty the Clown.
02:27Here's both Milhouse and Lisa Simpson.
02:29Of course, if you're going to have a TV personality, you're going to need a TV camera.
02:32The figure does come included with a camera, although sad to say, unfortunately, there's no possibility at all.
02:37It does, though, look like it's probably two pieces put together.
02:39I mean, if you wanted to, I don't know if you would really want to try to detach this, even if you were to detach this, what would you then really do with it?
02:46I think working on a tripod works a little bit better.
02:49The tripod, surprisingly, for how little of a footprint it actually has, seems to bounce pretty good.
02:56It is also a little bit painted, so they've got itself the red light here on the front.
03:00Hey, you're on camera right now.
03:02Nah, I'm just kidding.
03:03Or am I?
03:04So, again, the camera looks okay.
03:06It does, again, look like it's probably detachable, but I don't want to be the guy that says, yeah, it is detachable.
03:10You pull this off, you break it in the process, and then you go ahead and blame me.
03:14Don't blame me.
03:15I didn't tell you.
03:16Well, I guess I did technically tell you to try to pull it.
03:18Don't do it.
03:19Don't do it, whatever you do.
03:20So that's the only accessory, really, that comes included with Bumblebee Man.
03:23I guess a little to that, obviously, the figure does also come included with his wings.
03:27The wings are something that were attached on the back of the figure's body.
03:30You could remove them, really, if you want to.
03:32They just basically plug in place on the back.
03:34I mean, if you're only really looking at the figure from the front, and you're not checking out the back,
03:38you'd be unbeknownst to you, you'd notice that there's holes on the back of his body.
03:42These wings themselves are all done in a translucent kind of bluish plastic,
03:46and all they basically just do is plug in place like this.
03:48Now, when you are putting them in, you can kind of see for yourself.
03:52See how this side's flat, and this side's a little bit more round.
03:55You kind of want to keep the flat parts together.
03:57That way, you can have the wings closer together.
03:59So, you just plug in the one, and you plug in, yeah, the other.
04:03Now, the wings will only go so far.
04:05Obviously, that's as far down as they go, unless you really want to try to overlap them,
04:08but that's only just going to pop out one of the wings.
04:11Also, too, if you really try to bring the wings out, that's about as far as you can really go.
04:16Anything after that, it kind of looks like somebody's glasses.
04:19Anything after that, basically, will just force the other wing out.
04:22So, there's only so much that you can really do with them.
04:24But at least they move.
04:25I mean, that's still something.
04:27Now, looking at Bumblebee Man, one thing you may notice right away is the coloring of his shirt
04:30isn't really quite jiving with the coloring of his lower shorts.
04:33That is right.
04:34If you go back and really watch any of the things that Bumblebee Man has appeared in,
04:38technically, really, his shirt is a lighter yellow,
04:41and the darker colors, kind of that darker, warmer yellow is always in his trunks and always in his shoes.
04:46Bumblebee Man is actually a caricature of Al Chaputin, I think Chapulin, Colorado,
04:51which was the red grasshopper, a character created and portrayed by Mexican television comedian
04:56Roberto Gomez Balanos.
04:59So, he has sort of kind of taken a cue from that, and that's the creation of Bumblebee Man.
05:03I really like the look of Bumblebee Man.
05:05I'm so, again, surprised at the fact that we actually got ourselves a character like this so early into this line.
05:10Of course, he does have the antennas on the top.
05:12Those, unlike his wings, maybe they are something that were attached separately.
05:16I guess it would probably make the most sense, instead of molding an entire head like this with the antennas,
05:21maybe the antennas are something separable.
05:23Again, I'm not going to push you in the direction of trying to remove those.
05:26It's only just going to end up breaking the figure.
05:28But overall, like, he does look pretty good.
05:30Because, of course, the top of his outfit probably has been painted over top.
05:34I mean, maybe they probably would have been smart enough to paint the black parts and not paint the yellow.
05:39Because if you paint it yellow over black plastic, you'd have to, my friends, put several coats of paint on that,
05:44because you'd see the black bleeding through.
05:45No, it does actually look like they probably would have painted the black stripes on the yellow plastic.
05:50But again, like, the colors being off like this is really technically correct.
05:54Unfortunately, though, I did notice getting Bumblebee Man out of the packaging,
05:56not only were his legs kind of really loose, but also his knees were really loose as well.
06:02Unfortunately, though, when it comes to Jack-specific stuff,
06:04I'm not really here to just kind of say, like, the bash Jacks.
06:07But, like, certain kinds of figures that they've released, like, I've noticed with the Simpsons especially,
06:11loose thighs and loose knees seem to come with the territory.
06:16Yeah, you can still rotate.
06:17The figure does have some decent levels of posability,
06:19and he does also have pegles and bums of his feet.
06:21We have yet to really see any display stands included with these figures.
06:25But again, if you want to use a display stand from another figure company,
06:28those would just technically plug onto the bums of his footwear.
06:32For the figure's articulation,
06:33Bumblebee Man pretty much has the same as all the other figures,
06:36where there, unfortunately, is some limitations.
06:39Just with the size of his head like this,
06:40you can't do a full rotation.
06:42I mean, when you get to about here,
06:44and you get to about here,
06:46there's resistance telling you to go no further.
06:48If you want to go any further, don't blame me.
06:51I didn't tell you to do that.
06:52This time, I actually didn't tell you to do that.
06:54Upper torso is going to be also on a ball joint.
06:56Nice to say, at least, that it's not actually loose.
06:59I was actually wondering,
07:01oh, maybe it isn't.
07:02I thought maybe that they may have used the top of the torso for Barney.
07:06Obviously, he would have had different legs.
07:08Maybe they did actually use the lower half of his body,
07:10this piece right here, for Barney Gumbel,
07:12because it looks like he has similar mass.
07:15Of course, when it comes to his arms,
07:16his arms come out comfortably at 90 degrees,
07:18or that T-pose.
07:20The wings do obviously get in the way
07:21when it comes to kind of rotating the arms all the way around.
07:23They're going to hit here.
07:24They're going to hit here.
07:25You really have to kind of move the wings out of the way
07:27for him to do a full rotation.
07:29Figure does have a swivel in his bicep.
07:31A single hinge for the elbow.
07:33The hands, of course, rotate all the way around.
07:35The waist swivels.
07:37Again, there's also a ball joint,
07:38so technically you could move it up and down as well.
07:40Legs split out, but they only split that far.
07:42I mean, oh yeah!
07:43I don't know if you'd really be able to move his legs
07:44any further like that anyways in the cartoon.
07:47Of course, being that he also has these socketed sections
07:50allow the legs to move forward.
07:52So if you want to have Bumblebee Man sitting down
07:54or if he's hunched over,
07:56having a lobster pinched onto the back of his body,
07:58if he thinks the shtick is a little old,
08:00obviously just replace it with a big giant mousetrap.
08:02Oh!
08:04For his legs, again, like the legs split out,
08:06you can have him in seated position.
08:08There is technically also a swivel right here,
08:10or just really above,
08:12or I should say just below the short part of his shorts,
08:16where the shorts attach to his leg.
08:18Those rotate all the way around.
08:20The figure does also have a knee bend.
08:22You want to just kind of keep control,
08:24keep track of where everything is.
08:26Yeah, the lower boot does also rotate all the way around.
08:29There is an ankle pivot up and down.
08:31There's a bit of an ankle rocker there as well.
08:33Short of really just having the looseness
08:34that he seems already to have developed
08:37so early into opening this guy out of the packaging.
08:39I mean, I've had Bumblebee Man maybe out of the package for...
08:42I don't really want...
08:44Not that I've clocked myself at all.
08:45I'm just kind of looking at the time right now.
08:47Oh, I'm going to have to change that time.
08:49It's probably been maybe like half hour
08:51that I've had this guy and been playing around with him.
08:53He does also, by the way, have a tail.
08:55There doesn't seem to be any posability possessed in his tail.
08:58But yeah, the only thing that's unfortunately a bit of a bummer
09:00with some of these figures that I've been getting lately here from Jax
09:03is that they are loose getting them out of the packaging.
09:06Crusty the Clown actually, surprisingly,
09:07speaking of rivals on TV,
09:10while unfortunately he didn't really have...
09:12I guess he's got enough of a hinge on the back of his leg.
09:14He hasn't had any looseness at all.
09:16And you would think that a character
09:17having such large clown shoes like this
09:19would have a lot looser legs.
09:21But again, obviously, if it comes to displaying these guys,
09:24I'm going to be putting them on the shelves together.
09:25And again, bringing back in itchy.
09:28Well, itchy and scratchy.
09:29There's itchy, there's scratchy.
09:31Yeah.
09:33You know, again, like somebody had asked me before,
09:35which line do you like more?
09:37What we've got from Super 7, Jax Pacific, or Playmates.
09:40Playmates always really kind of benefit also from having dioramas.
09:43If this was like, for example, a Playmates set,
09:46it would also have the interaction with the audio clips,
09:49which didn't always work.
09:50I mean, we've done a couple of reviews of them here on this channel.
09:52You know that those voice chips never really worked properly.
09:56But at least to the credit of Playmates,
09:58they always had really cool diorama sets,
10:00like little, you know, places, studios, for example,
10:03that you could have put your characters with.
10:04We don't get stuff like that yet with Jax Pacific.
10:07They seem to really have kind of split the line
10:09in that 2.5-inch are the ones that are kind of getting things
10:12like dioramas that you can have the character sitting in.
10:15The 5-inch scale,
10:16the ones that we've really kind of primarily looked at more
10:18here in this channel,
10:19haven't gotten stuff like that at all.
10:21It's nice and good to get things like cameras,
10:23but I really want to see stuff,
10:24other things get released
10:25that you can display these characters with.
10:27Kind of see a longevity
10:28where people are picking up not only the figures,
10:30but then they can pick up things
10:31that have the figures displayed in.
10:34Because I knew I butchered the poor guy's name.
10:36Bumblebee Man said in this review already
10:37was a caricature of El Chapolin, Colorado,
10:40which translated to the Red Grasshopper.
10:42He was a character created and portrayed
10:43by Mexican television comedian Roberto Gomez Balanos.
10:48Now I didn't butcher it,
10:49or maybe some would still say that I did.
10:51Love the look of Bumblebee Man, though.
10:53I mean, again,
10:53while unfortunately having loose in the knees,
10:56that seems to be something
10:57that with a lot of these Jack-specific figures,
10:59they seem to have loose knees
11:00so quickly out of getting them out of the packaging.
11:03It's one thing, though,
11:03I really think that Jacks
11:04needs to really seriously work on.
11:06Not that it causes stability issues with these figures,
11:09but you would really like to think, though,
11:11when you get a Simpsons figure fresh out of the box
11:13and you've opened it for the first time,
11:15ah, you smell that?
11:17That's the smell of new plastic.
11:19But once you get these guys out of the packaging,
11:20you like to think that the joints
11:22would be all in these figures,
11:24all really tight.
11:25You really don't want to be disappointed right away
11:27getting them out
11:27and noticing that Bumblebee Man
11:29and some of the other Simpsons figures
11:31already have loosies in the knees.
11:34Again, outside of that,
11:35this one is going to be a little harder
11:37to find of a figure.
11:38From what I've heard, though,
11:39Bumblebee Man, I think,
11:40is maybe a one per case,
11:41which may justify then
11:43why he's so much more expensive
11:45when trying to find him online.
11:46I tried the right of going on eBay.
11:49That was a bad no-no.
11:50What I did, though, instead,
11:51was I went back to one of my go-to,
11:53seems to be, for sellers
11:55on Facebook Selling Group,
11:56Popeye the Toy Man.
11:57Sure enough, he had just stalked
11:58not only Carl, but also Bumblebee Man.
12:01As you already know,
12:02by the fact I've done the review of Carl,
12:03I picked him up,
12:04and at the same time,
12:05I picked up Bumblebee Man.
12:07So a big thank you
12:07to Popeye the Toy Man for that.
12:09What do you guys, though,
12:10think of Bumblebee Man?
12:11Let me know down below
12:11in the comments section.
12:12Are you also as surprised as I am
12:14that we got this figure so early
12:16into this line that we have?
12:17I mean, like, what's Bumblebee Man?
12:18He's like, wave six?
12:20Maybe he's even,
12:21maybe he's a little later than wave six?
12:22This wave, by the way,
12:23we're almost completed.
12:24The only one I've still yet to pick up
12:26is blue shirt Bart.
12:27When we do eventually,
12:28when I do eventually pick that one up,
12:30we are going to be having a look at that Bart.
12:32I know, again, like, it's a double dip.
12:33I mean, how many,
12:34is it a double dip?
12:35Is it a triple dip?
12:35I think it's probably now
12:36like a triple dip of Bart.
12:38Some would say, again,
12:39like the Mal's Boo Stacy treatment for Bart.
12:41But technically, like,
12:42Bart has had different colored shirts
12:43in the series
12:44and through, like,
12:45promotional marketing for The Simpsons.
12:47He's had, like, orange shirts, red shirts.
12:49I think he's also had, at one point,
12:50a green shirt and a blue shirt.
12:52So, I mean, like,
12:53it makes the most sense
12:54that they also would have given us
12:56more releases of Bart.
12:57It's not a bad thing.
12:58I mean, again,
12:58if you're getting unique characters
12:59like a Bumblebee Man,
13:01I don't mind that it comes
13:02at the price of getting yet another Bart
13:03to fill in that space.
13:05But again, if you guys did enjoy this video,
13:07yeah, do it as all.
13:08Throw it a like.
13:08You guys want to stick around for more?
13:09I hope so.
13:11Hit that subscribe, everybody.
13:13Please make sure, of course,
13:15you're turning on the bell notification
13:16so you're going to get those reminders
13:17every single time a new video drops.
13:19And, of course,
13:20making sure you're coming back
13:21peepers peeled, I hope,
13:23because there's going to be
13:23no new videos coming your way.
13:25As always, thanks for watching.
13:26See you guys next time.
13:28See you guys next time.
