00:00Okay, my name's Max Wakeman. I'm very, very proud to be the headteacher of Goldsmith Primary

00:05Academy here in Blakeneau. This is our black and gold palace here in the centre of our community.

00:12We are very, very privileged to serve nearly 500 of the wonderful citizens of Blakeneau,

00:19ranging from two years old all the way up to year six and 11 years old. Our school is a haven for

00:26technological advancement. We are extremely proud of our Apple Distinguished School status

00:31and the advancements that we've been able to make with regards to teaching digitally. Coupling that

00:37with our superb Teach Like a Champion techniques that we've been able to embed across our school

00:43to really improve progress and attainment across the whole school. In 2024, Goldsmith actually achieved

00:5014% above the national average for end of key stage 2 attainment, which is incredible.

00:56We also serve more than double the national percentage of disadvantaged pupils in our school,

01:01so it's a real achievement for us. We're really proud of our work with sustainability. You'll see

01:07in our school that we have composting, we have solar panels, we have lots of different ways to make

01:13sure that we leave our planning in a better place. Civically, we are supporting our community by opening our

01:19aspirations community hub. In there, we are going to be able to host different stakeholders from the

01:25community, such as the NHS and the Blockswitch and Blakeneau partnership. We are going to be

01:30able to offer workshops for our parents, not only of our pupils, but of the wider community too.

01:35Goldsmith is an absolute pleasure and a privilege to lead, and I really hope that you get the opportunity to

01:43come and visit us at some point, or indeed your children get to come here and work with some of

01:47the amazing pupils and staff that are already here.
