Stephen Graham has emergency surgery on a plane after 'weeing blood'
Transcript
00:00So then after about two and a half hours into the flight,
00:02I go to the toilet and I can't wee.
00:07And I'm like, and I'm like, oh, this, this, this,
00:10this doesn't feel right.
00:11Right.
00:12Cause you definitely need to, you know you have to.
00:15Well I knew I had to, and then silly Stephen thought,
00:19oh well if I go back to my seat and I just keep drinking
00:21water at some point it will happen.
00:22Oh yeah, that seems like, yeah.
00:25Yeah, so I went back to my seat, I asked for more water,
00:28went three and a half hours into the flight now.
00:31And then I goes to the toilet, tries to go to the toilet
00:33and I'm there and I'm, it's not coming out.
00:36But you know, when you're pressing, you know,
00:37when you're dying to go that situation and I had to look down,
00:40it was like a little pregnant belly.
00:42Yeah.
00:43And then all of a sudden, anyway, long story short,
00:45all of a sudden I went, but it was just pure blood.
00:48Well that's that good.
00:50Yeah, it was very scary.
00:51Yeah.
00:52And so, and I couldn't stop this trajectory of blood
00:55and I was like, oh, and I'm having a slight panic attack.
00:58A slight?
00:58Yeah, yeah.
01:00A slight panic attack.
01:02I'm very British still, you know, Seth.
01:04So I've got myself together and I'm cleaning it up,
01:06I'm cleaning the mess up.
01:07Oh, you are so British.
01:09Well, yeah, and you don't want the next person to come in
01:11and go, oh my God, what's happening?
01:13So I'm doing it and then all of a sudden,
01:14I look out the window and I'm about to cry,
01:16I'm having a bit of a moment and I look out the window
01:17and all of a sudden I just get this overwhelming feeling
01:21of calmness and I meditate and I kind of hit that stage,
01:25but it was really peaceful.
01:27And I remembered there was a doctor on board
01:31because you know when you get on the bus to go to your plane?
01:33Yeah.
01:34I just took a selfie with this doctor.
01:37He told me he was a doctor anyway,
01:38so I'm thinking, I'm all right, there's a doctor on board.
01:41So anyway, I told the woman this embarrassing situation,
01:44she put it over, we have to check with air traffic control
01:46and blah, blah, blah.
01:47Next minute, the doctor comes around the corner
01:50and he goes, Stephen.
01:52And I'm like, Doc, hello.
01:55And I explained the situation
01:56and he had another friend with him who was a surgeon.
02:00So I'm there, I explain, he's like, okay.
02:02And the surgeon, Dr. Hadji says, okay, we can work this out.
02:07He gets the emergency kit and they sterilize the whole area.
02:10You know what, on a plane, the way you go to the posh seats,
02:13which is that way, and you go to normal seats,
02:15which is that way.
02:16So there's a lounge in the middle and they sterilize the area.
02:19And basically there's a catheter in the box.
02:24Did they, I hope they asked everyone to leave the lounge.
02:28Well, there was no public there, but the staff were there.
02:32So Claire, who was the air stewardess and she was the manager
02:35and all the cabin crew were in the room as well.
02:39And they're holding curtains at the exit.
02:41And Dr. Hadji asked me, would I lower my pants?
02:45So I dropped me kex, I get on the couch
02:49and he performs a catheter operation there and then.
02:53And fine?
02:55Well, the relief was unbelievable, as you can imagine.
02:59But it was a little clot that had got stuck behind.
03:01Well, not little, but you know, it was a clot
03:04that had got stuck behind my urethra.
03:06But then you were fine, but like when you walked off the plane, fine.
03:08Well, then I went to the toilet and it was one of the nicest experiences,
03:12me and my penis.
03:13Yeah, yeah.
03:14I mean it in that right way.
03:15Yeah.
03:16You know, one of the finest experiences I've ever had with my...
03:18Yeah.
03:19Yeah, that's great.
03:20Apart from pleasurable, I mean, do you know what I mean?
03:23Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:24So anyway, so that was that, that was that.
03:27And I went in and I came running in like a child who'd just been...
03:31Remember when you trained your kids to go to the toilet?
03:33Yeah.
03:34And that face they'd come running out with.
03:36So I came out to the cabin crew and I was like, I'm done it, I'm done it.
03:40And then they all clapped.
03:41We don't have to describe the face, you took a photo and that's the face.
03:48Yeah.
03:49And, and Dr. Ola, Dr. Ola and Dr. Hadji, they were the two wonderful people who performed
03:56the surgery.
03:57Unbelievable.
03:58Yeah.
