00:00The childhood of Prophet Moses. A long time ago, in ancient Egypt, a cruel pharaoh ruled the land.

00:07He feared the growing number of Israelites and ordered that all newborn Israelite boys be killed.

00:13In this dark time, a brave woman gave birth to a baby boy. She loved him dearly and wanted to save him.

00:20She placed him in a basket and gently set it afloat on the Nile River, praying for his safety.

00:25The baby floated down the river until he was found by the pharaoh's daughter.

00:29She felt compassion for the crying child and decided to raise him as her own.

00:34She named him Moses, meaning drawn from the water.

00:37Though raised in the palace, Moses never forgot his true people.

00:41His birth mother, by the will of God, was chosen as his nurse, so he learned of his heritage from a young age.

00:47Moses grew up wise and strong, full of kindness and justice.

00:51Even as a child, Moses showed signs of greatness.

00:54God protected him and guided his steps, preparing him for the future.

00:59One day, this boy would grow to lead his people out of slavery and speak to God on the sacred mountain.
