Transcript
00:00Thank you for stopping by.
00:02Well, you know the WSB is always happy to collaborate with the PCPD.
00:06How can I help you with your case?
00:08Uh, yeah, it's not a case.
00:10In fact, this is not official police business at all.
00:14It's entirely personal.
00:22Towel?
00:24Hey.
00:28Didn't know that you worked here?
00:30I worked here last summer as a pool boy and did the lifeguard training,
00:34so they hired me on this year as a lifeguard.
00:36We're a little short staff today, so I'm pitching in, doing a little bit of everything.
00:40I can't believe you had time to train or even look for a job,
00:43considering everything you've got going on.
00:45I need the money.
00:47I can't stay with you and your grandmother forever, am I?
00:50Yes, you can.
00:52Look, I will text her right now, and I bet she'll tell you so.
00:55No, don't you do that.
01:00Just let me think this over.
01:02Yeah, no pressure.
01:05How is everything with your family?
01:09I mean, did you get all the answers that you needed?
01:11How's your leg feeling now that it's plaster free?
01:18Pretty good.
01:19Bipel locomotion's a beautiful thing.
01:22I'm curious as to where we're going.
01:25Here.
01:29Your table awaits.
01:31Oh.
01:32Oh.
01:33Oh.
01:34It's beautiful.
01:37What's the occasion?
01:39Getting your cast off.
01:41I thought you'd appreciate a change of scenery.
01:44And, uh, you and I have a lot to celebrate, too.
01:51Thank you for meeting with me, Sonny.
01:54I was afraid that you wouldn't be able to, because today is Michael's divorce hearing.
01:59It's today, right?
02:00Yeah.
02:01Uh, we all felt it was better if I stayed away.
02:05I mean, I want to help, but I don't want to be a distraction.
02:09So, whatever it takes for Michael to get custody of my grandkids, I'm...
02:15I understand.
02:16I really do.
02:18Speaking of grandkids, congratulations.
02:22It's a bit complicated.
02:24I know it is, Sonny.
02:26That's actually why I wanted to meet with you.
02:29I'm afraid that this thing could have huge repercussions for our entire family.
02:35Of course Rocco saw it.
02:37It was all over the internet.
02:40Dante came by this morning to confirm that Gio is Rocco's half-brother.
02:49Hang on.
02:50Someone's banging on my door.
02:59Gracie, I'm gonna have to call you back.
03:04What do you want, Brooklyn?
03:05I want to know why you blew my son's life to hell.
03:10Miss Jax, I'll ask you again.
03:12Isn't it true that your sister-in-law's only desire is to be a good mother to her children?
03:19Honestly, I don't know.
03:21Unfortunately, we aren't close, so she never explained anything to me.
03:26Although, I do recall one thing she said last night at the nurse's ball.
03:32And what was that?
03:33Well, we ran into each other in the ladies' room.
03:37And she told me that nothing was more important to her than being with Drew.
03:42That was a terrible mystery.
03:43That was a terrible mystery.
03:44You're a terrible mystery.
03:45That's without a loss.
03:46You're a terrible mystery.
03:47I have to
04:16admit, having a cast on my leg
04:19has kept me from doing a lot of the things that I
04:21love. Oh, yeah? Like what?
04:24Dancing
04:24with you.
04:26In fact, I told myself that
04:28when I got the cast off, I would talk
04:31you into dancing with me again.
04:33Talk me into it? I mean, I would never say
04:35no to dancing with you.
04:36In fact...
04:39No, no, no. I didn't mean
04:40right here right now.
04:42No, why not? I mean, it's
04:43a beautiful day. Here we go.
04:46May I have this dance?
04:52I did get a couple of answers
04:58from Sonny. He said that he had
05:00no idea that I was his grandson, but then
05:02I went back to the Quartermains to grab the rest
05:04of my stuff, and
05:05I ran into Brooklyn, Lois, and Gloria.
05:09Wow, that must have been interesting.
05:11It was World War III.
05:14But Lois did confirm that Brooklyn didn't
05:16know that I was her kid.
05:18That's good.
05:19It means that she didn't lie to you.
05:22Yeah.
05:23But it doesn't change the fact that she didn't
05:25want me.
05:28I'm sorry, Gio.
05:29Yeah, this whole thing's really been messing with my head, but
05:34I don't know who or what to believe aside from you.
05:41The only other person that I trust right now is Sonny.
05:45Now I'm not even sure about that.
05:47I don't know if you're aware of the tension between
05:51Lulu and Dante right now.
05:53Well, I know Dante's upset the way Lulu handled things, but I hope...
05:57Sorry to interrupt.
05:59I wasn't expecting me to run into you again today.
06:02Are you keeping tabs on me or something?
06:05I just had yet another ugly encounter with my son.
06:10And let me guess, you're here to take it out on the wicked witch
06:12responsible for everything that's wrong in your life.
06:15If the broom fits...
06:16It doesn't.
06:17I'm not the one who gave Gio up for adoption, and I'm not the one
06:20who lied to Dante about his son's existence.
06:23No, but you are the one who went digging into things that are none
06:26of your business.
06:27And you are the one who's responsible for Gio finding out in what
06:31might be the worst way possible.
06:33I mean, Lulu, you went at it with my mother backstage at a citywide
06:37charity event where anyone could overhear you.
06:40And if I could change what happened at the nurse's ball, I would.
06:44But no matter how he found out Gio is suffering because your mother perpetuated a huge lie,
06:50that's not on me.
06:51Believe me, I blame my mother and my grandmother.
06:54But you cannot deny your disgusting part in all of this.
06:58And you are no way off the hook.
07:00You are taking what I said completely out of context.
07:05Tell him the rest.
07:06Mrs. Carinthos, sit down.
07:08And please refrain from any further outbursts.
07:12Ms. Jacks, was there anything more with your conversation with Mrs. Carinthos?
07:18You see, it's a little bit fuzzy after that because things escalated.
07:25Drew actually barged into the ladies' restroom and threatened me.
07:30He told me to stay away from Willow and that Michael would lose his kids.
07:37No further questions, Your Honor.
07:40Ms. Miller, you may call your next witness.
07:43Thank you, Your Honor.
07:44I call to the stand Michael Carinthos III.
07:59Mr. Carinthos, did you love your wife?
08:03Yes.
08:04I only ask because you not only married Willow Tate and made her your wife,
08:09but you also made her the adoptive mother to your biological son, Wiley.
08:13Yes, that is correct.
08:15Well, that's kind of a big deal.
08:17You must have held her in the highest esteem.
08:19I did.
08:21And do those feelings continue today?
08:24When I married Willow, I was very much in love.
08:28Looking back, I think that love may have blinded me to certain red flags about my wife.
08:35What kind of red flags?
08:37Willow grew up in a cult called Dawn of Day.
08:39And though she seemed unaffected, I have come to believe that she suffered more from that upbringing than I initially realized.
08:45Objection, Your Honor.
08:46Speculation.
08:47Mr. Carinthos is not a psychologist.
08:49Mr. Carinthos may not be a psychologist, but he has direct insight into his wife's character.
08:55I'll allow it.
08:56You mentioned that you think that Willow was more deeply affected by her upbringing than you initially realized.
09:03Could you elaborate on that?
09:05She was taught not to think for herself, but rather to bend to the will of others.
09:10That's exactly what she did with her cult leader, Shiloh.
09:13That's what she's doing now.
09:15It's my uncle Drew.
09:17And she is willing to do whatever he wants, even if it's to the detriment of our children.
09:21Can you give us some examples of that?
09:25Willow was once diagnosed with stage four leukemia while she was pregnant with our daughter, Amelia.
09:30But she didn't tell me until many months later.
09:33Why on earth would she have kept that a secret?
09:36She had a lot of excuses.
09:39But what it comes down to is she is simply a very damaged person.
09:46And again, it's understandable.
09:50Now, she's dealt with a lot of emotional upheaval in her life.
09:53Anyone would have issues from that.
09:55But unless and until those issues are resolved, I do not believe Willow is capable of providing a safe and stable home for our children.
10:04Professor Dalton.
10:18Emma Scorpio Drake.
10:20I thought I spotted you here earlier.
10:22It's nice to see you again.
10:26Henry Dalton.
10:28Never heard of him.
10:30Oh!
10:32That surprises me.
10:34He's a world-renowned physicist who's working on what seems to be a highly classified project right here in Port Charles.
10:42So, top secret.
10:44Yeah, up until about a year ago, he was working at Northern Coastal University in Berkeley, California.
10:51Okay.
10:52And he had a secure and rather restricted lab where a group of student protesters tried to break into and vandalize.
11:02They tried to vandalize it.
11:04Well, yeah, so apparently the security caught them before they were able to do any real damage.
11:11And whatever it was that Dalton was working on was so classified that the university, rather than risk any kind of exposure, they had the students sign NDAs and expelled them instead of pressing charges.
11:29And then Dalton, within the month, he left his tenure position at Northern Coastal and he wound up here.
11:38He's here.
11:40So you actually don't know what it is Dalton was working on.
11:44I mean, it could be completely innocuous.
11:46You and I both know that this man's actions, it has all the earmarks of someone trying to avoid scrutiny.
11:57He specializes in cold fusion.
12:00Well, what do you think is going on, Ender?
12:04My gut is telling me that Dalton is working on something big.
12:09Something potentially dangerous.
12:14Gio, I asked Sonny to meet me.
12:18I mean, getting together here was my idea.
12:21I'm sorry.
12:22I'm sorry.
12:23I'm on overload.
12:24No, you know what?
12:25It's just, everything's just confusing right now.
12:28Yeah.
12:28Anyway, have you met the mayor, Laura Collins?
12:31Yeah.
12:32She, uh, is Rocco's grandmother.
12:35It's very nice to meet you.
12:37It's nice to meet you too.
12:38And I have been meaning to reach out to you, uh, to thank you for what you did for Rocco the night that he had alcohol poisoning.
12:46You were a very good friend to him that night.
12:50I wish I could have done more.
12:53Now I realize he's my half-brother.
12:57And I know that he's really looking forward to getting to know you better.
13:02I better get back to work.
13:07I'm sorry again.
13:14That young man is clearly in so much pain.
13:17I just wish there was more I could do to help him.
13:21How many times did I ask you to back off?
13:24But you had to keep digging into the most painful thing in my life, even though I told you how much it could hurt me and my son.
13:31But I suppose hurting me was the point.
13:34It wasn't.
13:35I promise.
13:36But once I suspected that Gio could be Dante's son, I couldn't drop it.
13:40How did you figure it out?
13:42I got suspicious the night Rocco got alcohol poisoning.
13:47Dante was ripping into Gio for not taking Rocco to the hospital.
13:51And then your mom got super protective of Gio.
13:54Like, over-the-top protective.
13:56So?
13:56She's protective of everyone she loves.
13:59I know.
13:59But then things just started falling into place.
14:03And then, especially once I found out that Camilla was never pregnant.
14:07You should have just stayed out of it.
14:08Is that really what you wanted?
14:12To not know that Gio was your son and for him to not know that you're his mother?
14:19Mr. Corinthos, you've alleged that my client is incapable of providing a safe and stable environment for your children due to her upbringing.
14:29Perhaps we should look at your own.
14:34You were raised by Sonny Corinthos, a well-known crime lord.
14:39Your Honor, I will withdraw.
14:47Setting aside what your father does for a living, there's no denying that you grew up surrounded by violence.
14:54Is it true that you were shot in the head as a child with a bullet that was meant for your father?
15:01Yes.
15:03And your brother, Dante, has already testified that you were caught in a firebombing in your father's penthouse.
15:09Which is why you've been absent from your children's lives.
15:12Is that correct?
15:13Correct.
15:14So even if you weren't the target, that doesn't seem like a very safe and stable environment for children to grow up in, does it?
15:32This isn't the first time that you've manipulated the legal system in order to exact revenge.
15:37Why don't you tell the court about the time you sued your own father for custody of your half-sister, Avery.
15:44And finally, I'd like to revisit the topic of Claudia Zaccara.
15:50I mean, after all, conviction of involuntary manslaughter is a very serious crime.
15:56This has all been so amazing.
16:10Thank you for going to so much trouble.
16:14No trouble?
16:14I've thought about this since we were kids.
16:20What?
16:20A picnic in Exevo?
16:22This is just the setting for the main event.
16:27Just the setting.
16:30So, what is the main event?
16:33How do you know so much about this break-in if all the students signed NDAs?
16:46I just did a little digging.
16:50Any particular reason?
16:51Or just because M is one of the students in question?
16:54Yeah, well, look, this is why.
16:56This is personal to me.
16:58I see.
16:58I would investigate him myself if I could.
17:03But you have more resources, more latitude than I do.
17:07I just know.
17:09I know I'm onto something.
17:12You can say it's because I'm a former agent, and I'm an agent, and I'm a mother being overprotective of her darling granddaughter.
17:18And I just can't help but wonder how that's impairing you to get the research assistant job.
17:23And, uh, I mean, I had no idea that the job made that much to you, so.
17:30Yeah.
17:31I mean, you have no idea how jealous I am that Jocelyn gets to work so closely with you.
17:36I spoke to Gio earlier.
17:39I guess that we can keep building ourselves.
17:42He knows that he can come and talk to you.
17:45I think that's everything for him right now.
17:47He's very upset.
17:49Poor Dante.
17:51I know that he had a terrible fight with Lula.
17:55I mean, so bad that, uh, I expect there'll be friction between them for...
18:00I think that it might be kind of important for both of us to keep an eye out for Rocco.
18:09I don't know, I just...
18:10No.
18:11You can at least stop acting like what I did was the worst thing to ever happen.
18:15Oh, what's up there?
18:16And you are not the heroine of this story.
18:19And just to answer your question, yes, I would much rather be in the dark if it meant sparing Gio from this pain that he's feeling right now.
18:28I truly hate that Gio is in pain right now, right?
18:32But at the end of this, he will have a family.
18:34For the first time, he will have a father and a brother.
18:40He's pushed me and Dante away, and I think that's ever going to change.
18:45Well, that must have been comforting for you.
18:48Did Willow facilitate these conversations?
18:51In fact, since her adultery was exposed, geared toward separating you from your children, is that correct?
18:57Into Washington, D.C.
18:59Now, your mother has testified that you were not advised of this trip.
19:03That's correct.
19:04Have you been advised, Mr. Carinthus?
19:07Tear, Willow signed and fired.
19:10No further questions for this witness, Your Honor.
19:12However, I would like to submit 9A.
19:17Photos of congressmen who took a trip with Drew Cain has testified that you were not advised of this trip beforehand.
19:27Is that correct?
19:28Yes, that is correct.
19:29That on April 14th of this note, documents appointing Drew Cain as the children's guardian in the event that anything should ever happen to her.
19:42No, I was told nothing about that.
19:45No.
19:45Two further pieces of evidence for the record.
19:52Exhibits and 9C.
19:56Drew Cain, who has recently been appointed guardian of my client's children, engaging in a frolic, a romp, with a woman who has been convicted multiple times for solicitation.
20:11And finally, if I may draw the court's attention to the monitor, proof of Ms. Carinthus' adultery with her uncle-in-law in the children's nursery playroom, no less.
20:32Oh.
20:38I rest my case.
20:39I apologize that you were subjected to viewing that video of your daughter and congressman Cain in what was obviously meant to be a private moment.
20:59You've seen that footage before, though, haven't you?
21:02Yes, at the Quartermain Christmas party.
21:04Hmm.
21:05Not exactly a holiday fair.
21:06How did it come about?
21:10Tracy Quartermain accidentally played it from Michael's phone.
21:15What was it doing on Michael's phone?
21:16It was an app because Michael secretly installed a nanny cam in the nursery playroom without my daughter's knowledge.
21:27Well, that's misleading.
21:29Did you find it odd that Michael knew about the affair, but he never said anything to Willow about it?
21:35Yes, it was very odd.
21:36But it's not the first secret that Michael has kept from Willow.
21:40And earlier, we heard Carly Spencer's version of what went down at the gatehouse that night at the party.
21:45Do you agree with it?
21:46No.
21:47I mean, it is true that Willow and I wanted to leave with the children, and Carly did try to stop us.
21:53But when Willow insisted that her children needed to be with their mother, Michael very willingly gave his permission.
22:02He never put up a fight.
22:04So the children weren't upset, as Ms. Spencer claimed?
22:07No, absolutely not.
22:08In fact, Wiley was so happy, he yelled, yay.
22:12So, from what you've seen firsthand, would it be fair to say that Willow loves her children and they love her back?
22:22Willow is the best mother that I have ever seen, and her children adore her.
22:30And what's your opinion of Michael?
22:32He doesn't really want custody of his children.
22:37He's just angry.
22:39He wants to punish Willow for falling out of love with him.
22:44Ms. Reeves, when was the last time you actually spoke with your son-in-law?
22:53Well, I tried to speak to him at the nurse's ball, but he was too busy snatching up my grandson and running out of the room.
23:01Please, just answer the question.
23:04I haven't talked to Michael since before he was hospitalized.
23:08Oh.
23:09And that was the same night that he filed for custody, yes?
23:13Yes.
23:14So, your opinion on my client's motives for asking for custody, that's just pure speculation, is it not?
23:23Yep.
23:25Yes.
23:26Yes.
23:32Knock, knock.
23:33Are you busy?
23:34Oh, well, I'm never too busy for you.
23:37What's up?
23:38Can I interest you in a bite?
23:40Actually, no, I kind of lost my appetite a bit.
23:45Oh.
23:45Yeah.
23:45Jack Brennan was just here.
23:47Mm-hmm.
23:48I asked him to investigate something that I'm kind of suspicious of involving Emma, and he out and out accused me of being overprotective.
23:59Oh, you overprotective?
24:01Oh, no, no, don't you start.
24:02Don't do that.
24:04Actually, you know what you could do?
24:07You could put your P.I. hat on, and I will give you all the facts of this case, and then you can tell me if I'm overreacting.
24:13Okay.
24:17Hi.
24:19Oh, and just hanging by the pool.
24:23No problem.
24:25I'll come right over.
24:25Okay.
24:26Mm-hmm.
24:31So, now the semester's over.
24:33What are your plans for summer?
24:34You know, I haven't quite figured that out yet.
24:36I may do this internship at this cosmetics company's lab, but, I mean, it's just not going to be anything like working in your lab.
24:46Okay.
24:49Is there any chance?
24:52Is there any chance?
24:53Is there any chance we can meet up sometime?
24:55I mean, I just have so many questions about the things we talked about in class.
25:01Sure.
25:02Yeah, I'd be delighted.
25:05Yeah.
25:05Yeah, my door's always open.
25:06Please raise your right hand.
25:11Do you swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth?
25:13Okay.
25:13I don't want you to keep me up to you.
25:15Yeah, it's a texture.
25:15Okay.
25:16I just love you.
25:16Ms. Corbin.
25:19State your occupation.
25:20Court, please.
25:22I have worked as the cook for the court mates for a little over a year.
25:27And in your time with the family, have you ever witnessed any interaction between Michael and Willow?
25:34Sure.
25:35I've even babysat for the kids.
25:37And how would you describe their relationship?
25:40I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until I saw Willow kissing Drew on the 4th of July last year.
25:49Where is this going?
25:53How did you feel about that?
25:55I was stunned.
25:57And I felt bad for Michael.
25:59Were you and Michael close?
26:00We're friends.
26:01You were once engaged?
26:03Yes.
26:03Years ago.
26:04So, you were in a romantic relationship.
26:07Was that relationship of a sexual nature?
26:09Objection.
26:09Relevance.
26:10It speaks to the nature of Ms. Corbin's connection to Mr. Grinthus.
26:14I'll allow it, but proceed with caution.
26:16Ms. Corbin?
26:21During the course of our relationship, Michael and I had sex.
26:27And when did your relationship with Mr. Grinthus end?
26:31In 2021.
26:34And when was the last time you and Mr. Grinthus had sex?
26:46The MetroCorp pool keeping Dalton under surveillance when you called.
26:49Well, our investigation into Dalton just hit a major snag.
26:52In what way?
26:53As we suspected, Anna Devane is on to Dalton.
26:57She's this close to launching her own investigation.
27:00If she does that, she could spook him and send him underground.
27:04Or worse, she could stop him from completing his research.
27:08Now, we don't want him selling his work, but we do want the tech for ourselves.
27:12So Anna cannot get in our way.
27:15Putting Dalton aside for just a second, don't you wonder how Emma might feel about you asking
27:22the WSB to look into her college professor?
27:25I don't have to wonder.
27:27She'd hate it.
27:28She would say that I'm overstepping.
27:30But I...
27:32I really feel that I'm onto something.
27:36Are you?
27:38Or are you overcompensating with Emma because of Robin?
27:44Well, uh...
27:46That's enough, son, for one day.
27:48Um...
27:49Let me know when you'd like to meet up.
27:53I'll definitely be in touch.
27:54Look, I am certain that Lulu and Dante will do everything in their power to shield Rocco
28:07from the troubles they're having in their relationship right now.
28:12But...
28:13You know what?
28:13He's a sensitive kid.
28:14He won't skip a beat.
28:17And he'll figure it out.
28:19That's why I think it would be important for both of us to let him know that he can come
28:24and talk to us.
28:26I think if we present a united front, then he gets to see that his whole family isn't
28:32torn apart.
28:34You know what I think?
28:35I think that Rocco is lucky to have a wise grandmother.
28:43I think he's pretty lucky to have you hurt her father.
28:45Well, well, well...
28:48If it isn't our esteemed mayor, Polic enemy number one, isn't this cozy?
28:54With a big old smile.
28:55You're being live-streamed to the people of Port Charles.
29:00I know it's killing you, but I am sure that Gio will come around.
29:04Are you sure?
29:06Because I'm not.
29:08It didn't have to be this way.
29:10All of this could have been different if you had just come to me first and let me decide
29:16whether or not to tell Gio the truth.
29:18Honestly, I thought you would just keep lying.
29:21Lulu, how would you feel if someone made a huge, life-changing decision like that for
29:27your kids?
29:29No matter how much you hate me, you should have respected me as a mother or had the tiniest
29:34fit of care for my son's feelings.
29:37But instead, you had to trash his entire life out of your selfish need to hurt me.
29:42Because let's be honest, Lulu, that's what this is about.
29:45So you know what?
29:46Congratulations.
29:47You have always wanted to destroy my life, and you have finally succeeded.
29:51Miss Corbin, please answer the question.
29:56When was the last time you and Mr. Carinthos had sex?
30:00I don't understand why you're asking me that.
30:04Oh, I think you do.
30:06Objection.
30:06Again, your honor, relevance.
30:07Get to the point, counsel.
30:09Miss Corbin, were you at the Brown Dog Bar the night of October 30th of 2024?

30:25I had just found out that my boyfriend was actually my cousin.
30:28Happy?
30:31When you left the bar that night, were you alone?
30:33That is none of your business.
