00:00Hey what's up? It's Paul here from Guitar World and today we're going to be checking out a
00:13standout electric from Kort Guitars. The Kort G290 Fat 2. Let's check it out.
00:19Whether you know it or not Kort has made countless guitars for other manufacturers
00:33yet their namesake instruments have largely been overlooked. Not anymore. Tapping in the key
00:39features and ergonomic designs Kort seems intent on overshadowing its competitors with its own
00:45models that are more than just a sum of their parts. And once you pick up this Kort G290 Fat 2
00:51you'll know right away this is a serious and worthy electric that should be on your radar.
00:56What's cool is the offset body feels snug pressed against you with a generous belly carve and soft
01:02forearm contour that provides hours of playing comfort. But it's impossible not to notice the
01:07top-notch componentry and woods on this guitar. Everything about the Kort G290 Fat 2 appears
01:13elevated.
01:15This guitar features an older body with a gorgeous flame maple top in trans black burst what you see
01:30here. There's also antique violin burst and bright blue burst and it also has a one ply white bonding.
01:37It also comes with a roasted maple neck and fretboard. Though it sounds like a misnomer the ergo v neck
01:44profile is not a v-shaped neck but rather a palm filling profile that's closer to a fuller
01:5060 c-shape with a soft satin finish on the back of the neck. The neck also sports glow-in-the-dark
01:57lumen lay, side dots, and easy to burn on 12 to 15 and three-quarter inch compound radius fretboard
02:04with 22 immaculately dressed frets. There's also a Graf-Tech black tusk nut,
02:11court staggered locking tuners, and an accessible spoke nut hot rod truss rod wheel. The G290 Fat 2's
02:18articulate and detailed tones come courtesy of the Voice Tone VTH-77 direct mount pickups in brushed
02:25nickel that are merged with a custom pickup wiring to the five-way switch that offers single coil sparkle in the
02:31second and fourth positions and full body humbucker roar in the other positions. And rounding out the
02:37guitar is court's smooth traveling and floating stainless steel CFA-3 tremolo bridge mounted over a
02:44recessed cavity. Let's start with the clean channel. I'll move over to crunchier channels and lead channels
02:54as well. But what I love about the guitar is that it cleans up and it retains its clarity even when I roll
03:00down the volume and you'll hear it between like the notch positions and even the full humbucker positions.
03:05Let's take a listen.
03:30would say,
03:34rock and reel
03:36stick your Oriental

05:02The KORT G290 FAT2 comes complete with all the necessary upgrades that many players desire
05:07and at a price that fits within most working musicians' budgets.
05:11But let's not forget, the KORT G290 FAT2 is an undeniably versatile and pro-level instrument
05:18with studio quality tones and playability that far exceeds its competition.
05:23Definitely check it out.
