00:00Hey everyone, this is Andy Black Sugar with KMFDM. I'm at the Brave in Milwaukee on a blustery autumn midwestern afternoon.
00:15And I'm going to show you my gear that I'm using for this tour.
00:20Basically because I like to travel light, the whole rig is right here in this shot.
00:25So I'm going to go through everything piece by piece. It's basically this guitar, which is a Sully Raven that's made of mahogany and maple and ebony.
00:36It's got size queen jumbo nickel frets and hip shot tuners and bridge Sully pickups, which I'm very happy with.
00:47And I'm going to go through the pedals and stuff and there's some interesting stuff that I'm doing that's a little bit unorthodox.
00:54But it's relatively straightforward. So for 90% of the show, maybe 95% of the show, I'm using this sound.
01:03It's just sort of a crunchy, heavy metal riff delivery machine. And I use a few other sounds which I'll get to. But basically what I'm doing here is I'm going into a few pedals.
01:19And then ultimately the atomic amplifier 12 is doing all the amp modeling.
01:37So as far as the pedal chain, first thing is this fab flange, which is just for silly stuff.
01:47And this electro harmonics pitchfork is a really crucial pedal because it allows me to cover all the tunings that are needed for this show.
01:56So for instance, I need to do a lot of whole step down.
01:59What I like about this pedal is it tracks really well, even for super notey stuff.
02:14So yeah, I think I have four tunings in total for this for this show, including whole step down, half step down and whole step up.
02:42It's like an F sharp standard.
02:45In other words, I would have had probably have four guitars tuned all differently and then four backup guitars, which is not feasible.
02:59So with this pedal, I can do the whole show with this guitar.
03:02Next up is the boss super shifter, which I'm using for sort of extreme dive bomb.
03:09Occasionally subtle things.
03:19And then finally in the pedal chain, this is actually an important part of the whole thing is the Eventide H9.
03:43The odd thing that I'm doing with the H9 that nobody else is doing as far as I'll just demonstrate how I'm using this knob to control parameters within that pedal.
03:53So right now I've got like an analog delay.
03:59So I'm basically using this as a wet dry knob for that one.
04:11Let's try some other things.
04:14Here's sort of a custom patch that I made that tunes the guitar up and down in fourths, fifths and octaves.
04:21So you can do some pretty crazy stuff with that.
04:36I'm using it for KMF with this sound.
04:39So I'm using the knob to cycle it up through all these intervals from really low and guttural.
04:51Let's see what else I got in here.
04:57This is one of my favorites.
04:59I call this one Shatter.
05:07This is a backwards patch.
05:09Basically I have it set up so it starts out with no delay at all.
05:15So this is sort of like a sort of no effect.
05:22And then as I roll it in, you start hearing reverse delay.
05:31If I roll it all the way up, it's just reverse.
05:47So there you go.
06:03That's the backwards thing.
06:04And then I've got this rocket dive bomb thing.
06:17So that's just for certain parts in the show where I want to be particularly obnoxious.
06:22And then, so finally, let's talk about the amp modeling here in the amplifier 12.
06:26Okay, so this is the main guitar, rhythm guitar sound for the...
06:32I sort of have a loud version of that.
06:34By the way, that's got a little bit of stereo chorus on it,
06:38which is audible in my stereo wedges that I have in front of me.
06:43I also have a pair of stereo wedges on stage left so I can run over there and play on that side of the stage.
06:49I have sort of a lead guitar version of this, which is louder and it has delay.
07:06I've got this kind of less distorted version of that sound.
07:13And then this is sort of a shimmering, clean sound that I showed you before.
07:24I'm only using that once in the whole set, which is for Bumaye.
07:28I've got this wah lead, this sort of auto wah lead guitar sound.
07:40And then this clean funky thing, which we're using a few times in the set.
07:55And that's basically the whole rig.
08:09I'm using the atomic amplifier box as a backup, which basically has my main...
08:17my primary, you know, 95% of the show rhythm guitar sound loaded into there in case something happens.
08:24But nothing has happened yet.
08:27So, yeah, that's basically it.
08:30This is it. Everything.
08:32This is...
08:34This is the whole rig.
08:36It's me and these things.
08:38Somehow we're doing a rock show with all this.
08:44Andy Black Sugar signing up.
08:47It'll be a film animation for today.
08:50And then my new video playing is better.
08:51hÀufig music playing.
08:52Kindly wag Smells vedere.
08:56But without picking aăȘ ìŽïżœ harvest or pretend a gonna look right out of him.
08:58Global forty out of the era.
09:02I think a person left, Subaru of the era is a big ass.
09:04We dug the count, so...
09:07They got white samples, so they didn't hit their own body CV,
09:08and they had something with Xiaomi, how'd I weigh that down for it.
09:11And then this is the same as small trade- compañer.
