00:01Does the President support the Senate moving forward with the bill imposing heavy sanctions
00:05on Russia?
00:06Look, the President has spoken about his position on sanctions on Russia.
00:10He has smartly kept this as a tool in his toolbox if necessary.
00:14But I think the Senate and everyone on Capitol Hill respects the President is the Commander-in-Chief
00:18for a reason.
00:19And as you know, Russia and Ukraine engaged in direct talks yesterday.
00:23That was at the encouragement of this President when he spoke to both leaders of both countries
00:28via phone just a couple of weeks ago.
00:31And so I would just like to remind everybody how far we have come in just four months.
00:36I mean, it was inconceivable last year at this time for Russia and Ukraine to be engaged in
00:41direct talks.
00:42And it's because of the President's insistence and determination to get this war to an end
00:46that these countries sat down yesterday.
00:48So he's willing to use sanctions if he needs them in the Senate and in Capitol Hill understand
00:54that the President is the Commander-in-Chief and he's leading United States foreign policy
00:57as he should.
