00:00Javi Baez got to town yesterday. He and the Tigers beat the White Sox 13-1.
00:06I know you guys are about to see the Tigers.
00:09We've talked a lot as a show about just Javi's success and how he's being utilized.
00:14Knowing that you guys are going to face him over the weekend,
00:17what do you think about not just that Tigers team, which is incredibly good,
00:21but also just how Javi's found a renaissance the way he has?
00:25Yeah, I think the Tigers have been playing great baseball.
00:27And Scott Harris is over there, and he was an assistant GM with us and a good friend.
00:34So to see them playing good baseball is awesome.
00:36But I think Anthony Iapose, he's the first base coach as well,
00:39who's our hitting coach for years.
00:41But Javi, just his ability to understand and play the game,
00:48I was fortunate enough to get to watch it for a long time and be a part of it for a long time.
00:52And so to see him bouncing around and playing center field and doing that at a high level
00:59and just being himself is really fun to see.
01:03And I know how much he loves the game.
01:05I know how much he loves to play.
01:07And he's out there every single day.
01:08He's never, no matter what was going on with his body, he was always out there and wanted to play.
01:13And so it was fun to see him doing well.
01:16Who on the Cubs do you think, is there a comp who has the most energy or that kind of joy
01:22that plays like Javi does now?
01:25I mean, yeah, Pete's got that in him.
01:29Pete's got that joy for the game, the flair for the dramatic, you know, the fanfare.
01:34And I think that people just love watching Pete play baseball as they did watching Javi play baseball.
01:42It's an exciting style of play.
01:46And so, yeah, you get a lot of that.
01:48And you get the fans chanting the PCA like they were for Javi.
