00:00Connor McDavid leads the Oilers into their second consecutive Stanley Cup final.
00:04The career resume already for McDavid, Pete, is sensational.
00:08He won the Conn Smythe as the playoff MVP a season ago without his team even winning that Stanley Cup.
00:15He has been the Hart Trophy winner three times, the NHL MVP hardware.
00:20But as the native Canadian, what would it mean, Pete, for his legacy, that of Connor McDavid,
00:26for the prodigal son to return Lord Stanley's Cup to the Great White North?
00:32Oh, it would mean everything for sure.
00:34And it would mirror the same type of thing as Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, right?
00:39They got to the Cup final the first time and lost.
00:41And that's a pretty rare thing to get back there the next year.
00:45And those two all-time greats, Crosby and Gretzky, both won it the second time around
00:51and learn from, of course, what went wrong in the prior Cup final appearances.
00:58So I think that it's nice for McDavid to get back here, especially after, remember,
01:02in the Four Nations tournament, he scored the game-winning goal for Canada to beat the U.S.
01:07in the championship game just a couple of months ago.
01:09So it would kind of be riding that momentum.
01:12And make no mistake about it, I think that tournament kind of reinvigorated McDavid a little bit
01:18because the season was not going on the right track prior to that.
01:22And then that has had a ripple effect on his entire team, whether it's Drysaddle,
01:26who led the league in goals in the regular season, especially the goaltender, Stuart Skinner.
01:31He has been sensational of late for the Oilers.
