00:00They did make history, right, for the New York Knicks.
00:02They reached the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in two and a half decades.
00:07I think blanket statement, you say that to a Knicks fan before the start of this year,
00:11they give you a round of applause and say, heck yeah, Knicks in seven.
00:15But, J.Y., in the manner that New York did that, slaying the Boston Celtics,
00:19and doing so in comeback fashion in those first four games,
00:23even before Jason Tatum suffered that gruesome injury,
00:27the Knicks really got past that playoff dragon for them that really stood in their way.
00:34So, for the New York Knicks to be the Celtics,
00:37and then an outright favorite to win the Eastern Conference Finals,
00:40that's where the disappointment is.
00:43Is that where your disappointment stands,
00:45and how does New York take that next step next season?
00:49Well, I think the disappointment is the fact that the goalposts got moved, right?
00:52Because when you went into the Celtics series, a lot of Knicks fans said they weren't going to be there.
00:55This, I'll say this, this is more unprecedented than a 99 run when they were the 80.
01:00People thought the Knicks were going to be good if they go to a Finals in 99,
01:03just so they had a poor, short, and regular season.
01:05It was this run that was a little bit more unprecedented because of the fact that
01:08Boston, Oklahoma City, Cleveland beat them up all year.
01:12So, what do they have to do?
01:13Tie up the defense.
01:14They have to get a stronger bent.
01:16But there's a lot of things that New York can do.
01:19Tinkering.
01:20I don't know if you have to go swing and try to hit a home run,
01:22because you may strike out.
