00:00Glasgow always livens at this time of year with events launching in all corners of the city.
00:04It's a particularly special time for music lovers. Here is a quick roundup of what you can get
00:09involved in over June. Big Nights Out launched this year, a concert series which takes place
00:14across two of Glasgow's iconic outdoor bandstands, Kelvin Grove and Queen's Park. There are still
00:19some dates on the West End side of the event this month. From the 4th to the 7th of June,
00:24you can see acts such as Camera Obscura and Majira. The event then continues on the south
00:29side in July. Next, there are some exciting acts on at the Hydro, including Lionel Richie
00:34on the 4th of June, Kylie Minogue on the 6th of June, Pulp on the 7th, Diana Ross on the 25th
00:40and Iron Maiden on the 30th. The annual Glasgow Jazz Festival is launching its 2025 edition later
00:47this month. From Wednesday the 18th of June until Saturday the 22nd, various live jazz acts
00:53will be performing in venues across the city, including St Luke's, the Royal Concert Hall,
00:58Nice and Sleazy and The Old and More. It has been described as a series of concerts
01:03showcasing jazz, blues, soul, funk, R&B and world music and an opportunity for cultural
01:10exploration. Then Glasgow Summer Sessions, Punk All Dear is taking place on Saturday the 21st
01:16of June. It'll see huge acts including the Sex Pistols, the Stranglers, the Undertones and
01:22the Buzzcocks take over Bella Houston Park. Summer Sessions then continues at Bella Houston for a few
01:28more days, hosting Sting on the 25th, then Simple Minds on the 27th with support from Future Islands,
01:36Katie Tunstall and Hamish Hawk, and then Stereophonics on the 28th of June with support from Blossoms.
