um so it's gsp um 102 forward slash 25 and it was the bt announcement and i do welcome some
00:07
of the meetings that we have had although it's been really disappointing and the last one was
00:11
i think a fortnight ago where we met with the unions and even at that meeting it was really
00:17
disappointing how the unions have been engaging or how bt have been engaging with the unions rather
00:23
um and the response that they were receiving in terms of some of the suggestions that they
00:28
were putting forward um around trying to save the jobs that they're going at bt but it's on a
00:34
similar vein and it's in relation to learning pool um here in the city um learning pool are a global
00:41
organization and they're here in in this city and provide employment really good employment to um
00:47
quite a number of people um unfortunately um a number of weeks ago we did hear that they were
00:54
engaging in a redundancy program um there wasn't too much talk about it but i have since been
01:01
contacted by quite a number of employees who have been affected and i have to say i have always believed
01:08
that learning pool was a really good organization within the city and provided really good jobs um
01:13
unfortunately some of the stuff that i am being told by employees is in relation to how this process
01:20
was announced how it has been conducted and how they have been engaging with some of the staff that
01:25
have been involved and i know the process of redundancy is a global process that they have embarked on
01:31
but it's in relation to the people of this council area who are affected so what they have asked of me
01:38
is that we as a council engage with learning pool on the same basis that we engage with bt regarding their
01:46
redundancy process um just to try and clear up or get clarity on some of the issues that they feel
01:52
that they're struggling with and i think that um if i can make that a proposal today mayor um that we
01:59
set up a meeting with learning pool just to discuss the redundancy process that they are going through
02:04
at the minute um to try and support some of the staff that are going through that and get answers and
02:10
clarity do some of the concerns that they have okay thank you councillor dafi that's all right
02:17
so we content is everybody content i can second that is everyone content yeah happy
