00:39Morning, Doc!
00:41Good morning!
00:52M-POX, we're seeing a resurgence again.
01:01Last year, a few or a couple of months ago, we actually had cases of M-POX.
01:08But yung M-POX na tinatawag natin is actually a viral infection caused by a virus called your M-POX virus.
01:19And one of the things na binabantayan natin dito is not only the symptoms,
01:26but also how it is transmitted from one person to another.
01:31Hindi siya kasing transmissible like the other diseases like COVID na airborne.
01:39Actually, your M-POX is transmitted from skin to skin contact,
01:43from the fluids that comes out of the blisters from the disease.
01:51So, yun yung kailangan natin tingnan.
01:55Kasi, for example, in cases where the people are in closed and confined spaces,
02:03kailangan natin tingnan how to isolate them para hindi magkahawaan, especially in areas like that.
02:10Okay, Doktora, paano po ba naipapasa o nakakahawa itong MPACs?
02:15Right. Contrary to what usually is seen sa mga viral infections, which are usually respiratory in nature,
02:29yung M-POX, natatransmit siya, of course, through contact from another person na may M-POX,
02:36from the fluids na nilalabas or from the fluids of the people who might have the disease.
02:43Not only doon sa pus or sa nana from the blisters, but also from the saliva and from the other fluids that the person who has M-POX have.
02:56So, hindi siya nakakahawa through ubo, hindi siya nakakahawa through droplets.
03:02But usually, skin to skin contact, contact with fluids, vertical transmission, of course,
03:08kapag yung nanay may M-POX and then buntis siya, pwede niyang mapasa sa anak niya.
03:13Ah, okay.
03:21Right. So, ang M-POX, pinaka-common na symptom niya is really your rashes, which can last from two to four weeks.
03:32It can start as, parang red lang, na parang spots sa katawan natin, sa face, sa arms.
03:41Sometimes, it can cover the whole body.
03:45And after a few days, pwedeng lumaki itong rash na ito. Pwede siyang maging papules.
03:53And then, after a few days, magbe-blister siya.
03:56Una-una, tubig muna yung nasa rash natin.
04:01And then, eventually, after a week, magiging pus-filled ito or pwedeng magnana sa loob.
04:07And then, it can last up to 14 days up until mag-crust yung rash natin.
04:17So, apart from the rash, of course, minsan nakikita natin sa mga tao, rash lang yung sintomas.
04:23But, there are other cases na may mga flu-like symptoms din nakasama nung rash.
04:29Tulad ng fever, pananakit ng ulo, pananakit ng katawan, swollen lymph nodes.
04:36That's actually also seen in people who have impacts.
04:56Right. That's actually important kasi, even if it's not as transmissible as a respiratory infection,
05:07importante pa rin yung isolation, especially when it comes to people who have impacts.
05:14Kasi, hindi natin alam, if we come into contact with the bodily fluids of people who have impacts,
05:21pwede tayong mahawa.
05:23So, there are cases that what we do, especially kapag suspected siyang may impacts,
05:28we isolate agad para hindi na siya makahawa,
05:33especially to those who have close contacts with the person.
05:37Importante ito, especially kapag tayo nasa bahay,
05:40and we have immunocompromised companions sa bahay natin,
05:46importante pa rin yung isolation until we can confirm that it's whether or not it's impacts.
06:02Maraming salamat, Dr.
06:03Hingidok!
