CTP (S3E108) Plant, Don't Preach: The Christian's Guide to Meaningful Impact (aka: Memes part 2 episode) We explore the critical balance between prayer and action in Christian life, focusing on the principle that our job is to plant seeds while God's role is to change hearts. This episode challenges the notion that prayer alone is sufficient, urging Christians to take meaningful action in alignment with biblical teachings. • Christians must understand the balance between human responsibility and divine intervention • Prayer must be accompanied by action—"Change from wicked ways" implies personal responsibility • Like gardening, we must plant seeds of goodness before expecting God to help them grow • Inaction makes us complicit in the evil that results—"Only thing required for evil to prevail is good people do nothing" • Getting off our knees and taking action is essential to seeing God's work manifested
00:00Welcome to the Constitutionalist Politics Podcast, a.k.a. CTP.
00:07I am your host, Joseph M. Leonard, and that's L-E-N-A-R-D.
00:12CTP is your no-must, no-fuss, just-me-you-and-occasional-guest-type podcast.
00:19I really appreciate you tuning in.
00:22As Graham Norton will say, let's get on with the show!
00:25Hello! Hello, everyone. Welcome to Season 3. I gotta get used to saying that.
00:36Episode 108, according to my note here, my checklist of what I gotta do to get an episode actually put together here.
00:47That's what this is. At any rate, that's one, right?
00:55Yeah, I just told somebody about the ongoing, at any rate, oop, that's two now, joke.
01:02Oh, so indeed, at any rate, Memes 2.
01:09A quasi-follow-up to the memes episode, and of course, so many other episodes that this will relate to.
01:21I'm going to hold this up for the camera.
01:26Thins, signs, thin-as, I apologize.
01:32I'm not sure how you pronounce that handle.
01:35In Christian Lady's group on Gab social media posted this meme about, presumably, a Christian lady in a pickup truck with a cowboy hat for purposes of the transcript and you on audio only.
01:55And over the image, it says, your job is to plant the seed, not change their heart.
02:05Don't get your role and God's role mixed up.
02:10Well, thank you for posting that.
02:13That is the theme of this Season 3, Episode 108, episode of the Constitutionalist Politics Show.
02:25Indeed, shall be known by fruits, right?
02:29Well, more so, reap what we sow, you've heard me say before.
02:40Is prayer alone enough, going back to that?
02:44No.
02:45Two Chronicles.
02:47Pray, change from wicked ways, I shall hear, help heal land.
02:54Change from wicked ways, change from wicked ways, implies actions upon our part to try to change from wicked ways.
03:05God will hear and help, not just wave a magic wand with no action upon ourselves.
03:16Our duties as Christians to make things better, and God will help.
03:27Sow to reap.
03:30If you don't sow an action, right, you've got to sow something to reap something, a required action.
03:40Sitting around on your knees, praying 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.
03:49Dear Lord, let corn grow in my backyard.
03:55Well, if you haven't, God is not likely to blow corn seed into your yard,
04:04and then indeed help water it with rain, so that corn magically appears.
04:13No, you need to plant the corn, and the tomatoes, and the lettuce, and the cucumbers, and carrots, and broccoli, and whatever else.
04:27If you want something to grow, you must sow the seeds for that to happen.
04:37Hence, the Bible doesn't say God helps those who help themselves.
04:42But it is contextually implied in the you must sow, you must act, you must do things.
04:54God can then help you to help yourself.
05:01Right?
05:03This is not difficult stuff.
05:05Contextually, to understand if you read the whole Bible in its full context,
05:14not just pick and choose something for a false worldly narrative.
05:21And I was going to say at the top, I forgot, this should be a short show,
05:25but how many times have I said that, and an hour later, I'm still rambling, right?
05:30But indeed, your job is to plant the seed that changed the heart.
05:39Don't get your role and God's role mixed up.
05:43But it is our role, our Christian duty, to help sow the seeds of goodness and righteousness.
05:55But if you don't sow any seeds, then you are complicit in the evil.
06:03Only thing required for evil prevail, good peoples do nothing, right?
06:10If you don't sow, then you're part at fault for the rotten garbage fruit that has been reaped.
06:23We're all trying to choke down because you didn't sow good fruit, okay?
06:36Again, like I said, this is going to be short because that kind of sums it up in a nutshell, right?
06:45So indeed, I'm holding up the printed version of the meme.
06:50It's not in focus.
06:52It's not focusing.
06:54For whatever reason, now the whole picture is out of focus.
06:58I will try to insert and video edit for the behind-the-scenes sneak peek version,
07:05the actual meme so you can see it.
07:08Indeed, your job is to plant the seed, not change the heart.
07:14Don't get your role and God's role mixed up.
07:17Get off your butt.
07:19Pray.
07:20Yes, get on your knees and pray.
07:23But also, get off your knees.
07:25Get off your butt, right?
07:27I'm broadcasting again from the ugly couch in my living room.
07:32Now, I've got the picture all screwed up.
07:36I screwed up my green screen.
07:39At any rate, what's that, number four or five?
07:42But indeed, at any rate, get on your knees and pray and ask for help.
07:49But then get off your knees.
07:51Get off your ass.
07:52Get off your couch.
07:54So, goodness.
07:55So that God can help it grow.
08:00Only thing required, a meme I share all the time, an image, an article I wrote at TheLibertyBeacon.com, right?
08:10Only thing required, evil prevail.
08:13Good peoples do nothing.
08:15Get off your hindsight, keeping this a G-rated version of the show, which I usually try to do.
08:26There is one episode.
08:30You may recall I'm looking for it here.
08:33Now, the Chrisley Parton episode, season three, episode 105.
08:39I had to put a warning on that.
08:40Warning, rated E for explicit language because, yes, we get a little loose with the language and some foul stuff comes out on occasions during the Savage Dunn Filters show.
08:55And the only other Chris-titutional politics episode that kind of needed a PG-13 warning is the Am I the Ass?
09:05Sorry, quoting the name of the game there.
09:09I even don't like to use that word normally.
09:12Get off your hindsight.
09:14Get off your butt and do things.
09:18Am I the Ass game?
09:19I urge you to check out.
09:21It's a great game.
09:23Oh, great game.
09:25Please check out that episode.
09:27Please consider buying that game.
09:30It's a good family.
09:32It's a good generational game, as we discussed with the creator of that game there.
09:39To bridge gap between male and female, young and old.
09:43To come to understanding of morals.
09:48It's a question of morals.
09:50Am I the Ass?
09:51Like the one example.
09:53Eloping.
09:54Even though the family wants a big wedding and a reception.
10:00Well, are you an Ass for eloping?
10:04Well, why are you doing it?
10:08What are the reasons?
10:09And, of course, that is more acceptable today than it was before.
10:14So, your answer may not be everybody else's answer.
10:18At any rate, that's off the beaten path.
10:22Thank you all.
10:26Otherwise, I'll just keep rambling.
10:28Thank you all for tuning in.
10:30Take care.
10:31God bless.
10:32Indeed, maybe this is going to be a short episode, as I actually promised it would be.
