00:00So as we are saying now that the material part of us is Prakriti and the immaterial part
00:09is seeking for Mukti.
00:11So is this just a model for helping us to understand or else is this factual?
00:20It's a model.
00:21It's a model because the body itself is a model.
00:25What do you mean by a model?
00:26That which represents something.
00:31Whatever you can think of or conceptualize is just a model.
00:35Because if it is not a model then it ought to be the truth.
00:42It is not the truth obviously because the truth is not bodily.
00:47So every word is just used to model something.
00:52When we are speaking we are actually modeling.
00:57A model and a concept are fundamentally the same thing.
01:01So it is a model but it's a very very useful model.
01:06Useful for whom?
01:09For one who is...
01:11For the body?
01:12Yeah.
01:13Useful for?
01:14Purush.
01:15The Purush.
01:16Purush itself is the model.
01:18Right?
01:19But then there is somebody who is dissatisfied.
01:20We can consider the structure of the mind itself is like that entangled.
01:32And we are modeling this way to understand it.
01:37That's right.
01:38Because there is nothing else that can reach the mind except words.
01:43And every word is an exercise in modeling.
01:47So it is a model.
01:49There is no doubt about it.
01:51But then what else can be used?
01:53Rather we can look at the mind as a mechanism.
02:05Whatsoever is mechanical within you, that is Prakrati.
02:15Right?
02:16And then there is something that is dependent on the body.
02:20And yet not satisfied with just things bodily or material.
02:30That is what is called as Purush.
02:33That Purush is not Atma.
02:35That Purush is consciousness, Chetna.
02:41That consciousness is very much dependent on the body.
02:45If your head is banged with a hammer, consciousness will take a beating.
02:57Right?
02:58So the situation of the Purush is that it is in a relationship with the body and yet that
03:09relationship will never satisfy it.
03:15You know just like the husband and wife thing.
03:18Or man woman thing.
03:20So the entire body you could say is the wife.
03:28I am not trying to have any gender connotations here.
03:36But then that is the thing.
03:39The entire body is the wife.
03:43And then there is the husband who is definitely attached to the body.
03:50As I said, if you bang the body with a hammer, the consciousness too will suffer.
03:57It is not that just the brain will take a beating.
04:02The consciousness too will suffer.
04:05But then the brain is not consciousness.
04:08Though the consciousness is definitely dependent on brain, there is some relationship.
04:17And consciousness is not merely dependent on the brain.
04:20It is actually dependent on the entire body.
04:24Even if your knee is hit with a hammer, it affects your consciousness.
04:30Does it not?
04:34But is the consciousness the knee?
04:39The consciousness is not the knee.
04:41The consciousness is similarly not the brain.
04:44But it is in a relationship with the brain.
04:49And that consciousness seeks liberation.
04:53All spirituality addresses not the brain but that urge of the consciousness to get liberated.
05:05Therefore, those who apply only the brain in comprehending the spiritual notes, definitely end up misinterpreting.
05:18Because the ones who are bringing spirituality to you are not talking to your brain.
05:26They are speaking to your consciousness.
05:30What is the difference between brain and consciousness?
05:32Brain is that which comprehends using its well settled old patterns.
05:40Brain is a system, a mechanism.
05:44It is a pattern.
05:46It is a particular way.
05:49Consciousness can go beyond the old ways.
05:54Spirituality brings something new to you and the brain with its old ways cannot decipher that.
06:01But consciousness can, though it would stretch the consciousness.
06:07It would demand a lot from the consciousness to really know what the seers are saying to you.
06:14But still, it is within the capacity of consciousness to get a whiff of what an Upanishad is saying to it.
06:23The brain, brain can make no sense.
06:25The brain can at most translate.
06:29The brain can at most interpret like a computer.
06:34Can a computer understand?
06:38You can have artificial intelligence or what so ever.
06:42But can a machine or a process or a system ever understand?
06:51Understanding is a function of consciousness.
06:53Not anything that has weight.
06:55Not anything that is bodily or material.
06:59If an awakened mind gets knocked up with a hammer, will it forget everything?
07:06The Vivek you mentioned.
07:10Whatsoever is in the purview of memory is prone to be forgotten.
07:18Because memory is very much bodily.
07:22Memory resides in the cells.
07:25Memory is a material thing.
07:28So you can hit the brain of an awakened one with a hammer.
07:33And everything that was in the purview of memory would be gone.
07:40Do not believe in fancy miracles.
07:59That won't happen.
08:02If you shoot a so-called awakened person, he will bleed.
08:08That's Prakriti.
08:10There very now.
08:17You have never been destroyed.
08:19You have to sieve with a coinling без membours.
08:22You have to die.
08:24Where is the body that drowns you up?
08:26You have to die.
08:27But then another one wants you.
08:28Another one wants you to die.
08:30This is a natural tool.
08:32It's a natural tool.
08:33You have toена the way beyond connect to me.
