So as we are saying now that the material part of us is Prakriti and the immaterial part
00:09
is seeking for Mukti.
00:11
So is this just a model for helping us to understand or else is this factual?
00:20
It's a model.
00:21
It's a model because the body itself is a model.
00:25
What do you mean by a model?
00:26
That which represents something.
00:31
Whatever you can think of or conceptualize is just a model.
00:35
Because if it is not a model then it ought to be the truth.
00:42
It is not the truth obviously because the truth is not bodily.
00:47
So every word is just used to model something.
00:52
When we are speaking we are actually modeling.
00:57
A model and a concept are fundamentally the same thing.
01:01
So it is a model but it's a very very useful model.
01:06
Useful for whom?
01:09
For one who is...
01:11
For the body?
01:12
Yeah.
01:13
Useful for?
01:14
Purush.
01:15
The Purush.
01:16
Purush itself is the model.
01:18
Right?
01:19
But then there is somebody who is dissatisfied.
01:20
We can consider the structure of the mind itself is like that entangled.
01:32
And we are modeling this way to understand it.
01:37
That's right.
01:38
Because there is nothing else that can reach the mind except words.
01:43
And every word is an exercise in modeling.
01:47
So it is a model.
01:49
There is no doubt about it.
01:51
But then what else can be used?
01:53
Rather we can look at the mind as a mechanism.
02:05
Whatsoever is mechanical within you, that is Prakrati.
02:15
Right?
02:16
And then there is something that is dependent on the body.
02:20
And yet not satisfied with just things bodily or material.
02:30
That is what is called as Purush.
02:33
That Purush is not Atma.
02:35
That Purush is consciousness, Chetna.
02:41
That consciousness is very much dependent on the body.
02:45
If your head is banged with a hammer, consciousness will take a beating.
02:57
Right?
02:58
So the situation of the Purush is that it is in a relationship with the body and yet that
03:09
relationship will never satisfy it.
03:15
You know just like the husband and wife thing.
03:18
Or man woman thing.
03:20
So the entire body you could say is the wife.
03:28
I am not trying to have any gender connotations here.
03:36
But then that is the thing.
03:39
The entire body is the wife.
03:43
And then there is the husband who is definitely attached to the body.
03:50
As I said, if you bang the body with a hammer, the consciousness too will suffer.
03:57
It is not that just the brain will take a beating.
04:02
The consciousness too will suffer.
04:05
But then the brain is not consciousness.
04:08
Though the consciousness is definitely dependent on brain, there is some relationship.
04:17
And consciousness is not merely dependent on the brain.
04:20
It is actually dependent on the entire body.
04:24
Even if your knee is hit with a hammer, it affects your consciousness.
04:30
Does it not?
04:34
But is the consciousness the knee?
04:39
The consciousness is not the knee.
04:41
The consciousness is similarly not the brain.
04:44
But it is in a relationship with the brain.
04:49
And that consciousness seeks liberation.
04:53
All spirituality addresses not the brain but that urge of the consciousness to get liberated.
05:05
Therefore, those who apply only the brain in comprehending the spiritual notes, definitely end up misinterpreting.
05:18
Because the ones who are bringing spirituality to you are not talking to your brain.
05:26
They are speaking to your consciousness.
05:30
What is the difference between brain and consciousness?
05:32
Brain is that which comprehends using its well settled old patterns.
05:40
Brain is a system, a mechanism.
05:44
It is a pattern.
05:46
It is a particular way.
05:49
Consciousness can go beyond the old ways.
05:54
Spirituality brings something new to you and the brain with its old ways cannot decipher that.
06:01
But consciousness can, though it would stretch the consciousness.
06:07
It would demand a lot from the consciousness to really know what the seers are saying to you.
06:14
But still, it is within the capacity of consciousness to get a whiff of what an Upanishad is saying to it.
06:23
The brain, brain can make no sense.
06:25
The brain can at most translate.
06:29
The brain can at most interpret like a computer.
06:34
Can a computer understand?
06:38
You can have artificial intelligence or what so ever.
06:42
But can a machine or a process or a system ever understand?
06:51
Understanding is a function of consciousness.
06:53
Not anything that has weight.
06:55
Not anything that is bodily or material.
06:59
If an awakened mind gets knocked up with a hammer, will it forget everything?
07:06
The Vivek you mentioned.
07:10
Whatsoever is in the purview of memory is prone to be forgotten.
07:18
Because memory is very much bodily.
07:22
Memory resides in the cells.
07:25
Memory is a material thing.
07:28
So you can hit the brain of an awakened one with a hammer.
07:33
And everything that was in the purview of memory would be gone.
07:40
Do not believe in fancy miracles.
07:59
That won't happen.
08:02
If you shoot a so-called awakened person, he will bleed.
08:08
That's Prakriti.
08:10
There very now.
08:17
You have never been destroyed.
08:19
You have to sieve with a coinling без membours.
08:22
You have to die.
08:24
Where is the body that drowns you up?
08:26
You have to die.
08:27
But then another one wants you.
08:28
Another one wants you to die.
08:30
This is a natural tool.
08:32
It's a natural tool.
08:33
You have toена the way beyond connect to me.
