00:00Houston's ace is Frambois Valdez.
00:02He gets the start today for the Strohs
00:04as they look to even up this weekend set early here on this Friday.
00:08Minus 164, that updated money line price,
00:11and a total now up by a hook DRS to what we see here in game number two in Houston.
00:18Probably a good pitching performance here,
00:20and hopefully you get that for Houston.
00:21You didn't get it yesterday.
00:22Starting pitch was okay.
00:23Bullpen was absolutely terrible.
00:24Then you're going to lean on Frambois Valdez,
00:26third overall in the card today with XFIP numbers
00:28on a total of 28 pitchers.
00:31He's coming in with an 82 XFIP minus a 3.39 ERA and a 3.36 XFIP number.
00:36You take a look at Valdez here.
00:37Let's just go over the past 30 days as a left-handed pitcher.
00:40How about a 25% strikeout rate?
00:42How about lefty striking out against him at a 42% clip here?
00:45And you take a look at the ISO power number,
00:47which means extra base hits and power, an 0.85.
00:50And you take a look at the weighted on base percentage, 267.
00:53Equal opportunity too, Ben.
00:54Dominating lefty and righty batters here.
00:56You flip to that Tampa Bay Rays lineup,
00:58which I usually like the lefties in that lineup.
01:00But again, lefties on lefties against a lefty pitcher that dominates lefties
01:04usually doesn't work out in your favor.
01:06Now, having said that, Diaz, Caminero, Lowe, and also Moral,
01:09all Lowe weighted on base percentages and ISO power numbers
01:12going up against left-handed pitching.
01:14Danny Jansen, the only bright spot in the middle of that lineup,
01:16but that's not good enough.
01:17You can't have one or two guys that are hitting left-handed pitching well
01:20when you're going against an elite left-handed hitting pitcher.
01:22So it is a heavy favorite for Houston,
01:24but a bounce back should be in place today.
01:26Take a look at Pepio on the other side.
01:27He's actually had a pretty clean last 30 days.
01:30ISO power number, 116, weighted on base percentage, 273,
01:33which over the entire parts of the season, 261 batters faced.
01:37Those numbers are elevated.
01:38So two pitchers coming in in really good form,
01:40but again, it is a small ballpark that usually doesn't hold home runs
01:44and runs all that well like you saw last night,
01:46particularly from Tampa's side.
01:47Maybe more of a lean to the under today,
01:49even though that lineup today for the Houston Astros
01:52really checks out well against right-handed pitching
01:54over the past couple of weeks.
01:56So if I'm saying, you know what,
01:57lean towards the money line on Houston more
02:00than maybe the under in the game.
02:02Junior Caminero, by the way,
02:04a career best six RBIs yesterday,
02:06a part of the 13 runs scored by the Rays yesterday.
02:11A big one for Tampa to start off.
02:13The Rays, the only other team right now in the American League East,
02:17not name the New York Yankees above 500.
02:20Yeah.
