AD Ports aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 through initiatives that include fully autonomous vessels, according to Chief Sustainability Officer Captain Saif Al Mheiri.

00:00The shipping in general is, globally, is around 3% of the global GHG emissions and 11% from the transport sector emission.
00:13And it is about 60% of ADPORT's overall greenhouse emissions that we have.
00:20And therefore, we have, from the efficiency side, we are using tools that ensure the proper and the best passage planning, considering the meteorological aspect of the sea.
00:34And this is the most efficient way with efficient routes to take.
00:38We are also implying hull coatings, which reduce fuel consumption by 5%, as well as we have a great example for fully autonomous vessels, which is called sephine green.
00:49That is basically doing surveys, and it is fully unmanned and autonomous.
00:55From the renewable, from the alternative fuel side, we are also using the part related to LNG.
01:02So we are doing LNG bunkering, which is the first time done this year.
01:07As one of our latest ships, which is UGR, it is a dual fuel, which is LNG, and it is one of the largest rural ships in the world.
