00:00That's so interesting, isn't it? Because it's a difficult big shift in the whole way that society works, if you think about it, because we're quite used to that in Europe now.
00:12In many senses, we have that equality and maybe we don't actually realise that somewhere like South Korea is going through a big shift at the moment.
00:21The most interesting thing I found about this, and this was 2016, so not that long ago, the fertility rate in Korea is very, very low and it's now actually the lowest in the world. It's 0.78.
00:34So in 2016, the Korean government launched the national birth map where they showed in every area of the country the number of women of reproductive age as if they were livestock waiting to be bred.
00:50I couldn't imagine where I'm from in the UK, oh, Liverpool has 20,000 women of reproductive age. It's shocking to think about it. But that is the level at which women are told what their expectations are.
