DOH initiatives for young girls, health workers, services welcomed

Dr. Janice Kathleen Malesido, chief of the Local Health Support Division of the Metro Manila Center for Health Development, underscores the Department of Health’s ongoing initiatives — particularly HPV vaccination for girls aged 9–14, visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) training for health workers, and expanding screening services in public health centers.

00:00The National Capital Region po ay nakapagtala ng 57,285 women screened for cervical cancer noong 2024.
00:13At ito lamang ay napakalingit sa ating target na populasyon which is close to 2.8 to 2.9 million
00:22for the National Capital Region na women eligible sa ating programa for the screening.
00:31Kaya naman marami na tayong na-abot patungkol sa ating programa
00:35ngunit marami pa rin tayong dapat abotin sa ating pangarap to really achieve the targets to be met by 2030.
00:45Ang kagawalan ng kalusugan through the Metro Manila Center for Health Development
00:51ay patuloy na suposuporta sa pamamaraan ng pagbabakuna,
00:57focusing on our adolescent children, female of 9 to 14 years old,
01:03yung po ang ating binabakunahan sa ating HPV vaccines,
01:08priority are these eligible children.
01:13Patuloy din ang ating sumusuporta doon sa capacity building ng ating mga health workers
01:21towards visual or VIA, no, visual inspection using acetic acid na mga trainings
01:28and of course the services offered in all the health centers and hospitals
01:35in terms of pap smear and VIA for screening of our cervical cancer.
