00:01Somewhere, hidden amongst thorny brambles,
00:05is a little kingdom of elves and fairies.
00:10Everyone who lives here is very, very small.
00:15I'm Ben Elf.
00:18And I'm Princess Holly.
00:22Come on, let's play!
00:24Wait for us!
00:30Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom
00:37Today's adventure starts at the little castle.
00:44Books!
00:47But the witch had eaten too much cake and fallen asleep.
00:52So the fairy tiptoed past the sleeping cat, waved her wand,
00:57Abracadoo! Abracadie!
01:00Unfreeze the children and set them all free!
01:03And in a flash, the witch's spell was undone.
01:07As the sun came up and the stars went away,
01:11all of the children found themselves safely back in their beds.
01:15The End
01:16Mummy, why did the witch freeze all the children?
01:20Oh, I don't know.
01:23Maybe the witch didn't like the noise the children made
01:25and just happened to know a spell for freezing them.
01:28Yes, thank you Nanny Plum.
01:31Not eating for a year and a day must have made the children very hungry.
01:37No!
01:38The witch had frozen them solid, like frozen peas.
01:42Now frozen peas don't get hungry, do they?
01:45No!
01:47Queen Thistle, where do the stars go in the daytime?
01:50I'm sorry, Ben.
01:52You said the sun came up and the stars went away.
01:56But where did the stars go?
01:58Er, well, let's see what the book says.
02:02Hmm, it doesn't say where the stars went.
02:06Nanny Plum, do you know where the stars go in the daytime?
02:11Er, no.
02:14Perhaps we should ask King Thistle.
02:17He knows how the world works.
02:20Yes, let's go and ask Daddy.
02:28Henry.
02:34Enter!
02:36Daddy, Daddy, can we ask you a question?
02:40Yes, of course, Holly.
02:41What is it?
02:43Can you tell us where the stars go in the daytime?
02:47What?
02:49Where do the stars go when the sun comes up?
02:51Well, they go, yes, they go.
02:54Er, I'm actually rather busy at the moment, Holly.
02:56Our storybook said the stars went away
02:59But it didn't say where they went
03:02Oh, I see. Well...
03:05There are plenty of books in the Royal Library
03:08One of them might have the answer
03:11Good idea, Queen Thistle! Come on, everyone!
03:17Wow! It's very untidy in here
03:20That's because these are magic books
03:23You are very naughty books
03:26Flying about and fidgeting
03:28Choc-choc, go sort yourselves out
03:32ABC, neatly, please
03:37How do we find what we're looking for?
03:39These are magic books
03:41You just ask them
03:43Excuse me, books
03:45Where do the stars go in the daytime?
03:50Do you have anything about stars?
03:52At all?
03:57Ooh! Look at all the fancy writing
04:01What does it say?
04:03Has it got the answer?
04:05It says
04:06Little star, we ask you
04:09To make our wishes all come true
04:12Oh, it's just a spell for wishing on a star
04:16Oh, I think these magic books are only for making spells
04:21Not for answering questions
04:23But Nanny, why don't you know the answer?
04:27I'm Nanny Plum, not an astrophysicist
04:31Astrophysicist? What's that?
04:34Oh, it's just someone who knows a lot about stars and space and things
04:39Elves know a lot about things? We can ask my mum and dad
04:45Are your mum and dad astrophysicists?
04:48Er, maybe? Let's go and see
04:51Hello!
04:52My goodness!
04:53Mum, dad, are you astrophysicists?
04:55No, we're elves!
04:56Do you know where the stars go in the daytime?
04:59Er, no!
05:00Nobody knows the answer
05:02Maybe we could ask the wise old elf
05:03Yes, he's wise, he's old and he's an elf
05:08No, we're elves
05:10Do you know where the stars go in the daytime?
05:16Er, no
05:17Nobody knows the answer
05:20Maybe we could ask the wise old elf
05:23Yes, he's wise, he's old
05:27And he's an elf
05:29This is the wise old elf's study
05:39Where he thinks about things and is wise and stuff
05:43Enter
05:46Hello
05:48Good afternoon, everybody
05:50How can I help you?
05:53Wise old elf, we have a question
05:56The answer wasn't in our storybook
05:58It's an elf question, not really a fairy matter
06:02So we thought, as you are the wise old elf
06:06Yes, of course
06:08Ask me any question, anything at all
06:12Ahem, where do the stars go in the daytime?
06:19Er, ask me another question
06:22On sport, perhaps
06:24You're not really wise, are you?
06:28You're just old
06:29So, old elf
06:31You don't know the answer?
06:33Er, no
06:35But I do know where to find it
06:38Where?
06:39Follow me
06:41Is it far?
06:44All of this searching for answers has made me a bit tired
06:47We can take the lift
06:49Mind the doors
06:57Mind the doors, please
06:58Where are we going?
07:03We are going to the great elf library
07:08Great elf library, indeed
07:11It's probably just a dusty old cupboard
07:13Goodness me!
07:18Shh!
07:19This is a library
07:20We must be quiet
07:23Wow!
07:25It's huge!
07:28There are so many books here
07:29How do you stop them flying about and fidgeting?
07:33These are not magic books, your majesty
07:36Oh, well how do you ever find what you are looking for then?
07:41We ask the wise old librarian
07:45So where is this wise old librarian?
07:48Can I help you?
07:54Are you the librarian?
07:56Yes
07:56Do you know where the stars go in the daytime?
08:04Yes
08:05The answer is in the astrophysics section
08:08Second row, reference 520.34
08:12This way
08:14But we already looked in books for the answer
08:17What books did you look in?
08:20We looked in my story book
08:22And we looked in magic spell books
08:25Well, there are different books for different things
08:29There are books with stories in
08:32Ooh, look, witches
08:35And books about how things work
08:38Wow, a bucket book
08:40There are books about music
08:43Oh, palm music for elves
08:46My favourite
08:47Books about animals
08:50Oh, chickens
08:51That's interesting
08:52Books about vegetables
08:54Oh, yes
08:56I like vegetables
08:57Especially peas
08:58You can find out any answer
09:01If you look in the right book
09:03Ah, here we are
09:05A book on stars
09:08Is this going to have the answer?
09:10Let's see
09:11Is everybody comfortable?
09:14Yes, Queen Fischl
09:15On clear nights
09:17We can see the stars
09:19Twinkling in the sky
09:21The light we see from each star
09:23Is tiny
09:24The tiniest little spot of light
09:27We can only see it
09:29Because the sky is so dark
09:31Black
09:32The night sky is pure blackness
09:35Yes, it is, Holly
09:36But when the morning comes
09:39And the sun rises
09:40The sky gets brighter
09:41And the stars disappear
09:43But Mummy, where do the stars go?
09:47They don't go anywhere
09:49What?
09:51They're still shining in the sky
09:52We just can't see them anymore
09:55Because the sky is so bright
09:56It's obvious
09:57It's obvious
09:58I knew that
10:00And when the sun goes down
10:02And the sky gets darker
10:04We can see the stars again
10:07When the sun goes
10:09Of course
10:10So, Daddy
10:12Where does the sun go?
10:15Well, it...
10:17Ah
10:17Wise old elf
10:19These books
10:21Should answer that question
10:24Your Majesty
10:26This is a library
10:32We must be quiet
10:35Hooray!
