00:00And, you know, last night you thought, wow, Carolina finally gets what they need, right?
00:06They come out, they score the first two goals in a game.
00:08They've got a 2-0 lead at home.
00:10They can play their style of game.
00:12Yeah, things got real bad for them real quick in the second period.
00:18As Florida scored three times, they would obviously score five of the next six goals.
00:22It was tied at three just halfway through the third period.
00:26And it's usually a little bit of everybody from Florida.
00:29This time, it was Carter Verhage on Panthers Radio.
00:33Barkov along the right boards, down to the corner, then back behind the net with Orlov all over.
00:38And Barkov breaks free to the front of the net, backhand feed.
00:40Verhage, and he scores!
00:42And the Panthers take a 4-3 lead with 7.39 to go in the third.
00:47The Panthers are back in front.
00:49Carter Verhage upstairs.
00:51What a pass from Barkov.
00:53And the Panthers once again in front here in Raleigh.
00:56Yeah, I thought that guy did a great job.
00:59Goldie on ice would have been better.
01:01Huge play by Barkov against Orlov.
01:05And I thought, you know, just manhandling him.
01:09And then, you know, getting free and then finding Verhage.
01:12And Verhage's always having these big goals.
01:15And that was it.
01:16The backbreaker.
01:17That was the backbreaker.
01:21And that was Doug Plagan.
01:23So, I guess they are on QAM, right?
01:25The Panthers, I believe.
01:26That's the radio call right there.
01:28That's good.
01:28And that was great.
01:29I thought he was great.
01:30And, you know.
01:31Nice job.
01:31I know my guy, Goldie on ice and Randy Muller, going to get another ring wrong.
01:37Your boy, Connor McDavid, going to get a ring finally.
01:41Right.
01:42And Goldie understands how it goes.
01:44You know, there are some people in the business who, you know, they do the TV call all year.
01:48And they get pushed aside in the playoffs because it becomes national TV.
01:52And then they are such pigs that they go and, like, kind of wedge time away from the radio guys.
01:58He's been doing it all year.
01:59Goldie knows not to do that.
02:01He understands that this guy, Doug, does the games all year.
02:04He's got the call.
02:05And nice job by Doug.
02:06And they're doing all that to Sam Rosen.
02:10Panthers reached the Stanley Cup final for the third straight season.
02:14This is the sixth straight year that a Florida team is in the cup final.
02:20Who wrote you that Sam Rosen does it, Luke?
02:24Luke said Sam.
02:25I guess he's accusing Sam of doing that on the Rangers playoff broadcast, which is probably true.
02:33He's right.
02:33I'm sure Sam does slide over when you get in the playoff time for the blue shirts.
02:39But now Sam's done.
02:40So, now Kenny will do the same exact thing.
02:45Here's Matthew Kachuk, obviously going for back-to-back cups.
02:49A lot of motivation, but they also had a lot of new guys in the room this year that really helped move them.
02:54Yeah, it's hard to do.
02:56You very rarely see it.
02:57Very proud of the group.
02:59I think I've got to, you know, give a lot of credit to the new guys, whether they've been here for the whole year or a bit of the year.
03:08I don't – this is nothing against, you know, the guys that aren't here.
03:12But, you know, it's – we needed that fresh blood and that fresh energy and the guys that are fresh and hungry.
03:19You know, we're hungry coming back, obviously, but you get those new guys that help put you over the edge to get to this point right now.
03:25So, got to give them a lot of credit.
03:27We wouldn't be here without them.
03:31And we got one more job to do.
03:33I think it's a very – point well taken is that, you know, you go out with the same team.
03:39Like, you know, the Penguins won back-to-back and then they tried – they gave all these guys new deals and then they sucked.
03:47And then this team did it differently.
03:49What they did was they won back to – they went back-to-back.
03:54They lost, then they won, and then they got rid of guys and got new guys that could play, that could really play hockey.
04:03And they put them into that lineup and then – and they got four lines deep of really kind of the guys that really matter, Barkoff or Hagee and himself, I think Kachuk.
04:17And then your goalie's the same.
04:19And then you get all these new guys that make a difference.
04:22And like Seth Jones, right?
04:25Like, they are – they mean business, dude.
04:28They just have a whole new team that went out and he said it.
04:32They were hungry because when you win – when you go back-to-back, don't tell me you're still hungry.
04:38But when you have a third trip to the Stanley Cup Finals, somebody had to be starving because they were hungry enough to get it done.
04:45I think he's right.
04:45The new blood was the difference.
