00:00We have an amazing cast of stars who are on this particular production we're putting together here.
00:04We have Carrie Russell. She plays the part of the beautiful princess.
00:07There's no one right for me. Couldn't we invite some new people this year?
00:12I'm Princess Charming, so it's kind of the roles are reversed in the Cinderella archetype.
00:18And Elmo plays the Cinderella character, who is this kind of poor, sad little duster.
00:26Elmo's lost to death!
00:30Cinderella was a girl. And Elmo's not a girl. Elmo's a boy.
00:41Well, you know, it's interesting, Elmo playing the part of Cinderella-mo.
00:44I think he handled that role quite professionally, considering, well, no one else really could have played Elmo, could they?
00:50And then there's, oh, Catina Jimmy. She's very funny, too. She plays Elmo's stepmother.
00:56It's the classic tale of Cinderella, but with Elmo.
01:00But there's no, like, evilness, or, like, you know, the, the, my, my sons love Elmo, and they want him to come to the ball.
01:06He can go. Can't he, Mommy?
01:09And I'm not really evil. I'm just a little bit off.
01:11Maestro! Hit it!
01:14My character that I play on Cinder Elmo, the movie, practically. My character? Well, I play, me and my friend Baby Bear play the, I wouldn't call us evil stepbrothers to Cinder Elmo. I'm a nice stepwadu.
01:30Yeah, yeah. But we're a little self-involved, you might say that. Self-involved stepbrothers.
01:38Of course, your stepbrothers and I will be going tomorrow night, as usual.
01:42All right!
01:43All right! Yeah!
01:46And I play the part of a, of a suitor, which is somebody who, who suits people, I think. I don't know what it means.
01:53I, I don't know. You're the...
01:54Very strange.
01:55Aren't you the town tinker?
01:56All fair lady. My name is Bert, and this is Ernie. Hi there. We are the town tinkers. We tink. Ernie.
02:07Well, I play Zoe, because that's who I am, and I'm like a scullery maid. It's hard to say. I'm a scullery maid, and I help Elmo, and I work for the stepmother.
02:21That's right! He's wishing!
02:23Oh, oh, oh!
02:24Wishing!
02:26Oh, oh, oh!
02:28Wishing!
02:30He could go to the ball!
02:38Oliver Platt plays our fairy godmother slash father slash person.
02:42Well, um, I'm your fairy godfather.
02:45Ah!
02:46Excuse me, fairy godperson.
02:47Always been looking for a chance to play a, uh, a fairy god person of, you know, either sex.
02:54Frankie.
02:55Well, well, Elmo wanted to go to the ball, but his stepmother said he didn't have the right
02:59clothes.
03:00Yeah.
03:00Oh, boy. Oh, boy, that's a domestic issue. Uh, not my strong point.
03:04Um, what's really fun about the role, the way it's constructed, is that he starts out very
03:08dubious and very insecure about its abilities he's never done before, but then he gains confidence
03:13with every wand poof. And by the time it's, you know, he's got to the carriage and, you
03:18know, the dog bowl, he's just going nuts.
03:20Wow! Look at that!
03:26He's a cake!
03:28And then there's Finn Stewart. He is so funny!
03:32He plays a dog first who turns into a prince.
03:36I'm a prince. A real prince. Oh, wow. I think this is really going to be good for me. I mean,
03:42the dog thing, that's nice, but this, this is really good. And, uh, he goes to the, uh,
03:47to the ball, so, uh, he's basically spending all his time trying to conceal the fact that
03:52he's a, that he's a dog, uh, sometimes successfully and sometimes not.
03:57Oh! Oh! Eh!
04:00Uh, what we've got here is a small technical problem because, uh, during the show, I do the
04:06dog scratch, which completely knocks the sideburns right off. So, uh, she's having to constantly
04:12replace them. It's a, it's sort of an ongoing, uh, struggle.
04:17There's Big Bird and Rosita. I love Rosita. And, uh, you know, and, uh, Grover.
04:23Hear ye, hear ye, I've something to declare. Tomorrow night's a party. Be there or be square.
04:30Cookie Monster plays the baker.
04:33And when me finish baking, me going to eat them all.
04:37I am going to...
04:38And Kermit the Frog. Kermit the Frog. I love Kermit.
04:42Well, you know, as a singing, dancing, uh, frog in Hollywood, I, I do try to stay busy
04:47working all the time. But, uh, it's great to come here and work with Elmo. You know, it
04:50was his idea that I play the part of Kermit the Frog in this show, uh, a part that I was
04:55kind of born to play. Made the audition very simple.
04:57Hi-ho! Kermit the Frog here at the Princess' 18th birthday holiday. Find a husband ball where
05:03history is being made, folks. The princess must choose a husband by midnight tonight or else
05:08lose the kingdom. Ooh!
05:11Thank you, Elmo. Thanks for having me.
05:13It's a lot of fun because all of Elmo's friends are here, too.
05:16Everybody's doing something.
05:17This is the best thing I've ever done. I can't play my world!
05:21You gotta have, yeah, you gotta go for it. Come on, you're on stage with the Muppets.
05:25You'll get lost if you don't, you know, make something happen.
05:29It really is, you're just infused with all this energy and they're so big and funny and
05:33great and loud that you just go right up there with them.
05:36It's coming in and having a great time and, uh, you know, just kind of playing it big and,
05:41uh, you know, it's, it's great.
05:46It's the best thing I've ever done.
05:58You know, it's the best thing you've ever done.
