00:00Shhh, come on in!
00:04Come on, come on!
00:06Oh boy, this is where we're doing Cinderella!
00:10Yeah, come on!
00:16Very nice!
00:24And cut!
00:26Oh, welcome to the set of Cinder Elmo!
00:32Where Elmo and his friends at Sesame Street are performing in the great musical fairy tale,
00:38Cinder Elmo!
00:40Which is like the fairy tale Cinderella!
00:42See, Elmo gets to wear costumes and make up and pretend!
00:46Oh, Elmo has to go back now!
00:48Watch, watch, watch!
00:50Hey, Cinder!
00:54Well, you know, it's kind of a whole new experience for all my Sesame Street pals to do a show of their own.
00:59You know, it's amazing to work on a TV show, you know?
01:02Yeah, there's a lot of people running around and, you know, there's always something happening, you know?
01:07There's always lights are being moved and there's microphones.
01:12Yeah, look at that!
01:13I didn't know it took this many people to put on a play for television.
01:17Well, there's Hank.
01:18Hi, Hank!
01:19Oh, there's, that's Hank.
01:20He's the stage manager.
01:21Oh, hi.
01:22Say hello to the people.
01:23What are we on next, Hank?
01:24Um, in 30 seconds.
01:26Ooh!
01:29See, over there, there's the director.
01:32And he tells me when I have to talk and say my lines.
01:37And, and right now what they're doing is they're rehearsing, and that means they're practicing their lines and everything.
01:45Polish my shoes!
01:47Cinder Elmo, dust the cheese!
01:50Cinder Elmo, don't go there, you little...
01:54Oh, it's very hard to learn your lines.
01:56Sure.
01:57Yeah, sure.
01:58You're learning the words to a song, right?
01:59Mm-hmm.
02:00They feed me basically a syllable at a time.
02:02I can, I can retain that much.
02:04You know, it takes a little, little, little bit of practice.
02:06Yep.
02:07But we get the hang of it after a while.
02:08Yep, yep.
02:09We're actually in the palace ballroom, where we, um, Elmo and I have some very,
02:14romantic duets.
02:16Dance duets.
02:17Three common sticks.
02:19Action!
02:21My knight in shining armor.
02:24At your service, princess.
02:26I've been expecting you.
02:27Shall we dance?
02:28Yeah!
02:29So first, how was that?
02:31Did Elmo say the lines right?
02:33No, it's, uh, at your service, princess.
02:36Are you sure?
02:37Yeah.
02:38It's not at your service, princess.
02:39Yeah.
02:40It's at your service, princess.
02:41Yeah.
02:42It's at your service, princess.
02:43You know, I think that you need to be a little bit more, uh, pleading.
02:46What?
02:47A little bit more desperate.
02:48You know?
02:49Testament?
02:50Yeah.
02:51What's that word?
02:52Desperate.
02:53Oh, desperate.
02:54Yeah.
02:55Oh, Elmo can play desperate.
02:56Okay, Elmo go back and try it again.
02:57It's a dream come true, dancing with you at the palace.
03:02I think Elmo's great.
03:04And, uh, Elmo's definitely the sweet and most childlike of all of them.
03:10You know, the kid's got talent.
03:11That's all I can say.
03:12Especially for a three-year-old.
03:13I don't think I've ever met any three-year-olds who have the kind of natural stage presence
03:18and kind of relaxation.
03:20Elmo's a giver.
03:22And I will, uh, I'll just say that up front.
03:24Elmo gives and gives and gives and it's all about his craft.
03:27Sometimes you walk up and it's like, hey, Elmo, how's it going?
03:30You want to go, shh.
03:31You know, I'm thinking.
03:33That type of thing.
03:34You know, he's sitting there and he's getting into character and then afterwards you can't
03:37talk to him because he's trying to shake it off.
03:39So, uh, yeah, I, uh, you know, I, I hope to have the chance to work with Elmo again,
03:44you know, in Shakespeare in the Park, whatever.
03:46It's always intimidating on some level working with a huge international superstar like Elmo,
03:51but he's, he's what we call in the business a very generous performer.
03:56Stop it, please.
03:57As far as I, I'm concerned, it's Pacino, Brando, maybe Meryl Streep, Elmo.
04:06I love working with actors.
04:08Mm-hmm.
04:09Yep, yep.
04:10Yeah, me too.
04:11It's, um, you know, it's, uh, it's, it's fine.
04:13It's, um, it's different.
04:15It's, um, unusual.
04:16It's, uh, you know.
04:17Some of them are very tall.
04:18They're very tall.
04:19And they blink a lot.
04:20Mm-hmm.
04:21You see, when Baby Bear and I act, we never blink.
04:23No, no.
04:24Never once.
04:25It's very important to not blink.
04:26Make eye contact.
04:27It's a very important acting skill.
04:28Yeah, we're really good at staring contests.
04:30That's right.
04:31Ready?
04:32Go.
04:33Yeah.
04:34See there?
04:35Ernie knows where I'm coming from, and I know where he's coming from.
04:38He's really shaped up, and, uh, I think you're gonna see some of his best work in this film.
04:42Oh, oh, Princess, I can't offer you diamonds and rubies, but if you marry me, you can have
04:48Rubber Ducky.
04:49Oh.
04:51I would never give away Rubber Ducky.
04:54No.
04:55I mean, I, I do offer Rubber Ducky to the Princess if she chooses to marry me, but, you
04:59know, it's only a play.
05:00I would never actually give away Rubber Ducky.
05:02In real life, there's no way you'd do that.
05:04That's right.
05:05That's right.
05:06And this way, Rubber Ducky gets to be in the show.
05:07Mm-hmm.
05:08It's a joy.
05:09It's a little bit of a, of a different rhythm that the Muppets work in.
05:13Ugh.
05:14Tough day at work.
05:15Time to kick back.
05:16Yeah, baby.
05:17Whoa!
05:18And I told my momma on the day I was born, I said, don't juice it on my head.
05:25Yeah!
05:26Uh, where's the porridge?
05:28I, I, I had it in my contract that there would be porridge out here in the craft services.
05:33A little porridge, please?
05:35Maybe some porridge parmesan?
05:37Keep it down over there.
05:40Jeez.
05:41Elmo, we need you out of wardrobe on set in three minutes.
05:44Oh, you, you're putting something?
05:46Oh, there you go.
05:47Oh, see, this is Elmo when he's dirty.
05:50Elmo loves this part.
05:51Yeah, this is before the very odd person comes and changes Elmo into his ball outfit,
05:57which is very pretty.
05:58It's so great to wear costumes, isn't it, Baby Bear?
06:08Yeah, it's, you know, it's, it's not easy for a bear to wear a costume.
06:11You know, generally I'm naked.
06:13I, I myself have a beautiful costume and, uh, and a lot of work has gone into these costumes.
06:18You'll see, see a lot of very, uh, very expensive imported fabrics all the way from New Jersey.
06:23Really nice stuff.
06:24See, now, isn't this great?
06:25And this doubles like if you're hungry for breakfast, it's a Danish.
06:28This is so exciting!
06:30I just love it.
06:32I could sit here, do nothing, and be excited wearing this.
06:36Aren't we supposed to have cheers with our names on it?
06:39Oh, I didn't get that in my contract.
06:42You got a contract?
06:43I actually was honored to work with the Muppets.
06:45I mean, these guys are legendary.
06:47They've been around forever, and I grew up with them, as did everyone.
06:51So, to have the opportunity to work with, you know, all of them.
06:55Bert, Ernie, Cookie, Count, Big Bird, you know, Elmo, of course.
06:59Was, it's just fabulous.
07:04That's a wrap, everybody.
07:05Thank you very much.
07:06Nice job.
07:25Thank you very much.
