00:00When we get the whole lap dog situation brought up at the table as well,
00:04Drew talks about it and Drew owns it. Yeah, I called you a lap dog.
00:08Shamia, why did you start barking?
00:11Why would you start barking? I didn't, that just didn't make any sense to me. And the girls,
00:18they don't seem to have that sort of rigor to go back and forth with each other without
00:24one, going too low or two, just making it really, really cringy.
00:30It was not to hurt you, but I was hurt. I'm not listening to her calling me a lap dog.
00:34She can kiss my ass. She's so bad. But if you wouldn't hear me, I don't hear her saying that to me.
00:40Listening? I'm not listening. My intention was not to hurt you.
00:43I was upset. Sometimes we say things when we're upset and I definitely was upset and hurt
00:48that you placed her father with.
00:51The episode opens with Shamia and Kelly chatting it up poolside. And this is where Kelly introduces
00:57the cash trip and the girls are going to Grenada. And she also opens up here a little bit about her
01:02divorce and how it's really taking a toll on her emotionally, financially, and mentally.
01:08But I have to say the highlight of this week's episode has to be the fact that Britt throws this
01:14country club shapework launch event. What I love about Britt throwing this event right is that
01:21all new housewives kind of go through their own hazing process. And these ladies do not play about
01:27a trip. These ladies do not play about an event. If something goes wrong, you will hear about it.
01:33And people will be looking at you sideways.
01:35We're the whores of whores. Refresh my glass.
01:39What was really funny about this event is between production behind the scenes and the ladies there,
01:45there was a lot of shared confusion about what the purpose of the event was, why they were at a
01:50country club, and how it all tied together. And what was so funny about that is that Britt makes
01:57a point to say that, oh, it doesn't all have to go together for me to have an event, but
02:02it kind of does. It definitely, like, everything was a little bit disjointed. And what I think that
02:10this episode reminded me of, if the real Housewives of Atlanta, real fans, real watchers, do y'all
02:15remember when Dwight said all of those years ago about She by Sheree?
02:19Who was this wonderful person that was given a fashion show with no fashions? How dreadful.
02:23That is exactly the thought I had in watching Britt host this event. And honestly, the party planner
02:30had the right idea. Don't invite me anywhere. I, one, have to stand up for a very long time. And
02:35two, I'm not really going to get fed and not getting fed the same thing that everybody else
02:40is eating. I'm going to try not to make eye contact. This is a hot mess. And Portia even
02:47says it in her own confessional, like Atlanta is a hard place. If you don't have a good event
02:51or you don't have enough food, people will talk about you. And I think that is, especially
02:55being Southern, that is a true like core rule when it comes to hosting, you cannot run
03:01out of food. Angela opens the floor and she basically says, well, Charles doesn't have a
03:07side, baby.
03:08I don't know that that needed to be said at the table, but okay. And then Britt says back,
03:18well, I'm not one of Charles's whores. Where did that come from? Please tell me, please,
03:24please make that make sense to me. That was just so unnecessary. And I feel like that is
03:30one of the cases to be made when people say that Britt may not be the best fit on this cast
03:36because where did that come from? And I think this is also where I have to stop parenthetically
03:40to say a lot of the ladies in this group do not know how to read. And obviously a lot of
03:48us are kind of stuck in the wonder years of Real Housewives of Atlanta, where we really
03:55had a golden era with Nini, Kenya, Cynthia, all of that cast dynamic, all of those ladies
04:02together was truly, truly amazing. But the ladies don't have good banter. Back to the event.
04:09So Britt, again, she introduces like the product. She tells all the ladies about what it's about.
04:15And she shares a little bit about the kind of ethos behind the event and why she wanted
04:21to create this line. And she talked about some of the procedures that she had. And she gives
04:26all the ladies at the table a sample of the products. And so even more shade is thrown here
04:34because she gives Portia a size small and she gives Angela an extra large. That is like fun,
04:42like light shade, kind of. But it's like, okay, girl, whatever.
04:47Maybe she got this confused with the size of her toothbrush for her big mouth.
04:51That is so shady.
04:53So all of the guests who aren't sitting down, who aren't a part of the Real Housewives cast,
04:58they only get to eat hors d'oeuvres. They have to stand up and they don't get a sample of the product.
05:04I don't think that Britt should host any more events after this. Absolutely not.
05:09And so towards the end of the episode, we also get to see that Portia and we finally get to see
05:15Phaedra. They have a little sit down and Portia kind of gives Phaedra a rundown of all of the girls.
05:22And it's funny because Phaedra seems to already have the tea on each of the ladies. She goes as far
05:29as to call Kelly a garden gnome. And she says that Britt has more bodies than Willie.
05:38Okay. So like we're off to a decent start, but I know that it's been widely contested and contended
05:46how people feel about Phaedra rejoining the cast. And so Essies, I really want to know,
05:50how are we feeling about this? And what do we think about Phaedra joining? And you know,
05:55she's honestly joining in the last few episodes of the season. So Essies, I want to hear from you.
