00:00When you become super wealthy, it's important to be able to travel in comfort and style.
00:05For those whom first-class cabins won't do, there's always the option of buying your own private jet.
00:12But even these come in a wide range of prices and sizes.
00:16From the smaller luxury models to the ornate flying palaces,
00:21these are 10 of the most expensive private jets in the world.
00:25Number 10. The Gulfstream G500. $44 million.
00:31The Gulfstream G500 is the company's newest design,
00:35with the first only being delivered to a customer in September of 2018.
00:40The 91-foot, 2-inch long jet has a wingspan of 87 feet and an inch,
00:45a cruising speed of around 448 miles per hour,
00:50and in its delivery spec, there's room for 10 people to sleep.
00:53The interior is incredibly luxurious and includes 27-inch wide seats,
00:59ample headroom to walk around, height-adjustable conference tables, and plenty of storage room.
01:05With a price tag of $44 million, the cabin can be customized to your requirements,
01:11such as the choice of whether the galley is in the front or the back,
01:15and it comes with high-speed internet access that's said to be 30 times faster than other planes in its class.
01:21As with all private jets, the running cost can significantly increase the total overall price,
01:27but the G500 has been designed to be as economical as possible.
01:31The total annual budget, which includes flying for 400 hours,
01:36is approximately $2.4 million,
01:38which averages to the cost of $13.22 per mile.
01:46Number 9. The Embraer Lineage 1000E
01:50Based on the Embraer Lineage 190 regional jet liner,
01:55the Brazilian company describes the 1000E as an ultra-large business jet
02:00with a spacious interior big enough to easily accommodate 19 people.
02:04It's just shy of 119 feet long,
02:08with a wingspan of 94 feet and 3 inches,
02:11and has a range of 5,294 miles at a cruising speed of 543 miles per hour.
02:18The interior cabin is split into five sections,
02:21which includes a walk-in cargo area to the rear,
02:24a master bedroom,
02:25a bathroom with a walk-in shower,
02:28an entertainment lounge,
02:29and a dining area.
02:30And if you happen to have change from the $53 million asking price,
02:35well, there's plenty of further optional extras that can be fitted.
02:38Embraer's design chief, Jay Beaver,
02:41has overseen lavish redesigns of interiors
02:43that are built to customers' requirements,
02:46including the Kyoto Airship,
02:47along with Skylights,
02:48and the Hollywood Airship,
02:50which imbues the style and luxury of 1930s Tinseltown.
02:54Number 8.
02:55The Gulfstream G650ER,
02:58$71.5 million.
03:00The $71.5 million G650ER
03:04is Gulfstream's flagship product,
03:07and as you would expect for the model held in such high regard by the company,
03:10it's one of the best you can buy that's specifically designed as a private jet.
03:15It's an extended-range version of the G650
03:18and can travel a distance of 8,600 miles
03:21at a cruising speed of 560 miles per hour.
03:26It's 99 feet 9 inches long
03:28and 99 feet 7 inches wide
03:30and has a 2,138 cubic foot cabin
03:34that can be configured for between 11 to 18 passengers.
03:38The interior is decorated with rich leather,
03:41fine wood veneers,
03:42and handcrafted stonework.
03:44It includes, as standard,
03:46audio and high-definition TV equipment,
03:48a convection oven,
03:49a series of 26-inch widescreen televisions,
03:52and it comes fully equipped with dinnerware and cutlery,
03:55so you'll be ready to entertain.
03:57By using an app on your smartphone,
03:59you'll be able to control the temperature,
04:01lighting,
04:02the shades,
04:02and the windows and entertainment devices,
04:05while you're on board the wireless network
04:07that's connected to two multi-channel satellite systems
04:09and ensures that you're kept in contact with the ground.
04:12Its cruising altitude is 51,000 feet,
04:16which keeps it above commercial traffic and weather,
04:19but the cabin is pressurized to around 4,000 feet,
04:22so you'll hardly feel like you've flown at all.
04:25Number 7.
04:26The Bombardier Global 7500,
04:28The Bombardier Global 7500 is,
04:33according to the company,
04:34the world's largest and longest-range business jet
04:38with a range of 8,800 miles.
04:40This gives the ability to make a non-stop flight
04:43between New York and Australia in ultimate comfort,
04:46with four customizable living spaces,
04:49as well as an additional crew resting area.
04:51Bombardier offers a range of options
04:53when it comes to the setup of the interior,
04:56with choices of a master suite with a walk-in shower,
04:59a club suite with four ergonomic seats,
05:02large TV and windows,
05:03a conference suite with room for six to sit and eat,
05:07an entertainment suite,
05:08and even a private three-person suite.
05:11Without buying a larger plane
05:12and refitting it for your needs,
05:14this is as luxurious a private jet
05:16as is possible to buy.
05:18Number 6.
05:19The Boeing 757,
05:21$100 million.
05:23In 2011,
05:24Donald Trump bought a Boeing 757
05:27from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen
05:29and gave it exactly the type of makeover
05:32you'd expect from Mr. Trump.
05:34Far beyond simply having his name painted on the outside,
05:37the interior is what's made this
05:39a $100 million purchase.
05:41It's powered by a pair of
05:42Rolls-Royce RB211 turbofan engines
05:46and can fly for 16 hours
05:48at more than 500 miles an hour.
05:51The refurbishment of the plane
05:52that, in a commercial setup,
05:53can carry up to 200 people
05:55now has room for just 43.
05:57Some of the features include
05:59a bedroom,
06:00a dining room,
06:01a private guest room,
06:02an entertainment room,
06:03and this jet even has
06:05a 24-carat gold bath.
06:07Yes, you heard that correct.
06:08Every seat has a personal TV screen as well,
06:11with access to an entertainment system
06:13that offers a library of more than 1,000 movies
06:16and 2,500 audio CDs.
06:19There's also gold everywhere,
06:21including on the seatbelts,
06:23and the family logo is stamped
06:24on virtually every object in the cabin.
06:27Number 5.
06:28The Airbus ACJ319neo
06:30The Airbus ACJ319neo is a new model of jet
06:38that completed test flights in early 2019,
06:41and the first is currently scheduled
06:43for delivery in 2020.
06:45Airbus has taken the popular A320neo
06:48and added new engines
06:49and extra fuel tanks
06:50to extend its range,
06:52and have partnered with Fokker Technique
06:53to customize the VIP cabin on board.
06:57There's a focus on weight reduction
06:58to make this jet as economical to fly as possible,
07:02but that doesn't mean luxury is the second priority.
07:05The state-of-the-art cabin
07:06is built with all the latest technologies,
07:08such as low-altitude cabin pressure,
07:11entertainment facilities,
07:12private cabins,
07:13a conference room,
07:14and permanent connection to the internet
07:16through satellites.
07:18In trials,
07:18it recently completed a 16-hour flight
07:21at around 500 miles an hour,
07:23with a configuration
07:24that could seat 162 people.
07:27The first of these $101.5 million jets
07:30to be produced
07:31is for K-5 Aviation in Germany.
07:34But, with 14 on order,
07:37it's quite possible
07:37there will be one on the way
07:39to a billionaire near you.
07:41Number 4.
07:42The Boeing 787-8 BBJ
07:45$324.6 million
07:48The Boeing Dreamliner
07:50first went into commercial use in 2011,
07:53and it was inevitable
07:54that they would release
07:55a business version of the jet,
07:57something they did by 2014.
07:59The first one was built
08:00in collaboration with Kestrel
08:02and Greenpoint Technologies,
08:04who spent two and a half years
08:06designing and installing
08:07the custom interior.
08:09The list price of the 787-8
08:11is $224.6 million,
08:15and the upgrades
08:16cost a further $100 million.
08:18But, as you'll see,
08:21it was all worth it,
08:23as they have converted the plane
08:24into a 2,400-foot luxury flying home.
08:29The master suite,
08:30accessible from the entrance,
08:32is completely separate
08:33from the rest of the cabin,
08:34and is designed
08:35to be an oasis of silence.
08:37It has a California king-size bed,
08:39a huge bathroom with marble sinks,
08:42a double-size walk-in shower,
08:44and even heated marble floors.
08:47Those with a lot of luggage
08:48are catered for,
08:49as the master suite
08:50also comes equipped
08:51with its own dressing room,
08:53a walk-in closet,
08:54a refrigerator,
08:55and a safe.
08:57Beyond the private quarters,
08:58the jet has an open main lounge
09:00designed to feel
09:01as spacious as possible,
09:03and includes two day beds
09:04in front of a 55-inch
09:06flat-screen display,
09:07along with other seats
09:09that have their own monitors.
09:10To the rear of this cabin
09:11is a VIP lounge,
09:14and then behind it
09:15is the guest cabin,
09:16with 18 first-class reclining seats
09:19and a row of premium economy seats
09:21for the staff.
09:23The jet has a range
09:23of 11,500 miles,
09:26so you can reach
09:27virtually anywhere on Earth.
09:29Number three,
09:30the Boeing 747-8 VIP,
09:33over $367 million.
09:36The 747 is probably
09:38the most famous
09:39commercial airliner
09:40in the world,
09:41but for those
09:42able to afford it,
09:43Boeing also offers
09:44a private version
09:45of the jet.
09:46Costing $367 million
09:48for the base model,
09:50one recent
09:51and confidential client
09:52is said to have spent
09:53another $100 million
09:55to upgrade the interior.
09:57Powered by four
09:58General Electric Gen X engines,
10:00it can fly
10:019,200 miles non-stop
10:03at 645 miles an hour,
10:06and can be customized
10:07into virtually any configuration
10:09a client would want.
10:11The recent craft,
10:12designed by Greenpoint Technologies,
10:14made use of the 4,786-square-foot interior
10:18to include a stateroom,
10:20three large lounges,
10:22an office,
10:23and a huge dining room
10:24with a table that seats 14 people.
10:27This is also the model
10:28that's been announced
10:29to be the replacement
10:30for Air Force One,
10:32and that an estimated
10:33$660 million
10:34will likely become
10:36the most expensive
10:37private aircraft
10:38ever to be constructed.
10:40Plans involve making
10:41two jets
10:42resistant to media strikes,
10:43nuclear war,
10:44and terrorist attacks,
10:46with the ability
10:47to deploy flares,
10:48jam radars,
10:49and refuel in mid-air.
10:51On board,
10:51they'll be able
10:52to seat about 100 people
10:53and all the equipment
10:55needed to run
10:56the entire country.
10:58Number two,
10:58the Airbus A340-300,
11:01$350 to $500 million.
11:04What's thought to be
11:06the second most expensive
11:07private jet in the world
11:08is owned by one of Russia's
11:10wealthiest billionaires,
11:12Alisha Uzmanov.
11:14Based on an Airbus A340-300,
11:16which has a purchase price
11:18of $238 million,
11:20an extensive refit
11:21means this particular jet
11:23will have cost in excess
11:25of $350 million,
11:27although no one knows
11:29quite for sure.
11:30At 209 feet long
11:32and with four engines,
11:34it's the biggest private jet
11:35in Russia
11:36and has a range
11:37of 10,300 miles
11:39with a cruising speed
11:41of 540 miles per hour.
11:43The high costs
11:44and high fuel consumption
11:45mean that this model
11:46isn't often used
11:48by civilian air fleets,
11:49but when you're one
11:50of the richest people
11:51in the world,
11:52it's unlikely to matter.
11:54Very little is known
11:55about the interior
11:56of Uzmanov's jet,
11:57though as no images
11:58have ever been released.
12:00What is known
12:01is that it's registered
12:02in the Isle of Man
12:03with the registration
12:04M-IABU,
12:07which means
12:08I'm Alisha Borkanovich Uzmanov,
12:10and it's named Borkan
12:12after his father.
12:13Number one,
12:14the Airbus A380,
12:17over $600 million.
12:19Also known
12:20as the Flying Palace,
12:22the most expensive private jet
12:24was conceived
12:25and ordered
12:26by Saudi Arabian prince
12:28Al-Walid bin Talal
12:30in 2013,
12:31but he apparently sold it
12:33to an unknown buyer
12:35before even receiving
12:36delivery of the plane.
12:38It's a fully customized
12:39Airbus A380,
12:41which is the largest jet
12:42that's flown
12:43by commercial carriers
12:44and costs $400 million
12:46from the assembly line.
12:48Refitting the interior
12:49of the double-decker plane
12:50costs at least $200 million
12:53and could actually
12:54have been far more.
12:56For this expense,
12:57the prince installed
12:58a concert hall,
13:00a Turkish bath,
13:01a luxury car garage
13:03so he could take
13:03his prized vehicles
13:04anywhere he goes,
13:06and a prayer room
13:07with computer-controlled mats
13:08that automatically rotate
13:10to face Mecca.
13:12There are five bedrooms,
13:13which each have
13:14an in-suite bathroom,
13:16a king-size bed,
13:17and a dining area,
13:19a meeting room,
13:20and even a luxury dining room
13:21where each of the 14 seats
13:23is equipped with footrests,
13:25massages,
13:26and adjustable supports.
13:27There's also a boardroom
13:28and a laid-back lounge,
13:30but undoubtedly,
13:31the most standout feature
13:33of this jet
13:33is the throne
13:34that's pried and placed
13:36in the center.
13:37The A380 has a cruising speed
13:39of 560 miles per hour
13:41and a range of 9,200 miles,
13:44but you probably won't notice
13:46how long your trip is
13:47with amenities like this.
13:48Well, I feel like I've been
13:50in an airport all day,
13:51I don't know about you.
13:52And if you had a few
13:53hundred million dollars to spare,
13:55let us know how you would design
13:56and decorate your own private jet.
13:58If you enjoyed this video,
14:00make sure to leave a like
14:01and subscribe.
14:02As always,
14:03I'm Mr. Luxury.
14:04Pip-pip.
14:05De-doodly-doo.
