A major blow to former President Donald Trump’s trade agenda: a U.S. federal trade court has blocked his controversial "Liberation Day" tariffs, ruling that he exceeded his legal authority under existing law. The three-judge panel found Trump’s use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) was unjustified, affirming that only Congress holds the power to regulate foreign trade.
