Mozart in C: Vegetable orchestra plays classic songs on carrots and courgettes
The classical music of Mozart could be heard echoing around the streets of Esher on Saturday, May 24, but the composer's notes were not performed on traditional instruments.
Outside Garson's farm shop in the southern English town, an ensemble of musicians turned carrots, courgettes and bell peppers into working instruments to perform famous tunes to passers-by.
Members of the London Vegetable Orchestra carefully carved holes into large, locally-sourced carrots to produce edible recorders - a process which takes around 20 minutes to complete.
