19-YEAR-OLD Bug from Massachusetts started dressing alternatively at the age of 15 - by 18, they had turned into a full-fledged goth. Bug mostly dresses in a trad goth style but is also inspired by mall goth and punk. The only one in their suburban town that dresses this way, Bug lives with their mum who is pretty supportive of their style as she used to wear grunge clothes herself; Bug even inherited her leather grunge jacket. Bug is a natural blonde and only wears black, styling their backcombed and undercut hair into a 'death hawk'. How will Bug’s mum react when they take on a preppier look for the day? 00:04but if you want to get more specific, trad goth.

00:06When I started really dressing trad goth,

00:09my eyebrows are pretty low on my face,

00:11and I needed more room to do the eyeliner,

00:14so I was like, he's got to go.

00:16Today, I'm transforming from trad goth to suburban.

00:19Oh my god.

00:25You do look amazing.

00:27I think that I end up breathing in

00:32more hairspray than any human needs to,

00:34because my hair doesn't just stay up like this on its own.

00:38I use two different hairsprays.

00:40I've been dressing goth for, oh gosh,

00:43like three or four years.

00:46I think it's progressively gotten more and more

00:48traditional goth style.

00:50It was definitely more mall goth when I started,

00:52when I was in high school,

00:53but I've always been really into goth music.

00:56I only wear black.

00:57I mean, band t-shirts sometimes have

01:00like splashes of red on them.

01:01I think I have a couple that have like purple or blue,

01:05but black.

01:06Oh, this is such a good find.

01:08I found this at Goodwill,

01:10and isn't it so cool?

01:12It's actual leather,

01:14and it's got the like fringe.

01:17When I started really dressing trad goth,

01:19my eyebrows are pretty low on my face,

01:25so I was like, these gotta go.

01:26So I shaved those off,

01:28so I had more room to do eyeliner and eyeshadow.

01:30I get comments on my TikTok all the time.

01:32They're like, how do you have so much eyelid room?

01:34I don't.

01:35I don't have eyelid room.

01:36My eyebrows are gone.

01:38These are chicken bones that I made.

01:40I bought a rotisserie chicken from Roach Brothers,

01:42and then I made soup with the chicken,

01:45and then I kept the bones,

01:46and I made hair clips.

01:48And these are teeth hair clips.

01:51I bought acrylic teeth

01:53that they used to make dentures with,

01:55and put it on some oven-baked clay,

01:57and now I can look like I have teeth in my hair.

02:00So Bug's style definitely fits their personality,

02:03and they've always been a unique individual.

02:05Even, well, I will say it's funny,

02:07because Bug, when they were little,

02:09was like into the Disney princess thing,

02:11wore all these beautiful pastel,

02:14snow white, Cinderella dresses,

02:16and then loved the color pink,

02:19and then hit seven years of age,

02:21and said, I hate all of this.

02:23I don't want to wear any of this.

02:25Today, I'm transforming from trad goth to suburban.

02:43I called it skinny jeans.

02:46Goodness, I have not worn jeans in so long.

02:54But I would never wear these.

02:57I have never done any transformation makeup before.
