00:1026th May 2014, Rashtrapati Bhavan, the sun sets over Delhi's Raisina Hill
00:15and India's politics walks into a new era.
00:18Not with a manifesto, but with a camera ready oath and a global guest list.
00:23Narendra Modi takes oath as India's 15th Prime Minister.
00:29But this is no ordinary swearing-in.
00:32It's the first time heads of SARK nations, Pakistan's Nawaz Sharif included,
00:36are invited to the front row.
00:38Over 4,000 guests attend. The visuals are calibrated.
00:41This is not just politics, it's political theatre.
00:44Choreographed? Yes, but also unprecedented in its scale.
00:56Until now, Indian politics looked like it ran on jholas, slogans and press handouts.
01:01Modi's arrival changed the visual language.
01:03Campaigns started looking like product launches.
01:06Rallies used 4K drones and rock concert sound systems.
01:09Every speech was timed, subtitled and streamed.
01:12The 56-inch chest wasn't just a metaphor, it was branding.
01:17Modi was not the first to understand spectacle.
01:19Indra Gandhi did it in the 70s.
01:21Vajpayee had it in poetry.
01:23But Modi made it repeatable, platform-friendly, name-ready.
01:27He created the monthly Man Ki Baath, part address, part order diary.
01:31He turned monuments into backdrops.
01:33From Kedarnath Caves to Varanasi Ghats, every free mattered.
01:36Post-2014, political communication moved online.
01:40Modi became the first Prime Minister to use Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Telegram, not just to inform, but to shape narrative.
01:47His selfies with school kids, meditation clips, pariksha pe charcha, each part of a soft power ecosystem.
01:53Even criticism became part of the story arc.
01:56Since 2014, Indian politics have spoken in symbol and spectacle.
02:00The Lotus proving on AI graphics.
02:03The Modi jacket.
02:04The walk on the Ganga bank.
02:05The hug at a G7 summit.
02:07All these say as much as bills passed or schemes launched.
02:11Politics now lives in the scroll, not just the scroll of parliament.
02:14So when Modi took oath on 26th May 2014, he wasn't just stepping into office, he was stepping into a lens.
02:20And rewiring how India sees its leaders.
02:23Politics did not just change, it started playing to camera.
