00:00morning everyone right i need your help okay my hair so i've spoken about this
00:06very very briefly i have been diagnosed with perimenopause um more on that in a second but
00:14what i need your help with is my hair i am losing it man like it is thinning so badly like you can
00:21see like the bald patches coming in but just like the texture it's thinning it's it's bad right so
00:28i don't i think this might be a terrible idea but i'm thinking about maybe having hair extensions
00:34again that could make the problem so much worse i know but i have seen that you can get curly hair
00:41extensions like the proper um q-tip ones no not q-tip that's absolutely that's the um not why would
00:48you put a q-tip up your nose i meant it don't put q-tips up your nose actually you shouldn't even
00:54put them in your ears really um k-tip am i saying the right things oh my lord this isn't
01:01i'm gonna have some coffee by the way a fan made this for me it's all of my um strictly dancers well
01:09not all of them but like highlights um gosh this is a manic video is it not um sorry let's start
01:17again does anyone know of a salon in the midlands that does curly hair extensions k-tip hair extensions
01:27i think they're called um i've seen lots of salons that do them in london don't mind traveling bob would
01:33rather travel in the midlands area that would be better um it could be a terrible idea it might make
01:39my hair even worse to be honest but it's really getting me down now um i've also been told that
01:45collagen helps as well and i actually got gifted the free soul collagen gummies so i've taken those
01:51for the last sort of week and a bit um they taste delish so yay for that um so i'll keep you updated
01:58on whether that makes a difference or not but yeah i don't know whether extensions are a good idea
02:03so back to the perimenopause it was actually simon that had noticed that basically my whole
02:10personality had pretty much changed i was like so down like even more so i'd struggled with
02:18depression and anxiety pretty much since a teenager but i just there was something really different
02:24about me and in myself i knew that something was off um brain fog oh my gosh i couldn't even like
02:32remember the word banana that was odd and then the night sweat started my sleep was all over the place
02:40um and yeah just there was just there was just too much to ignore so you know i decided to go to
02:47the doctor and luckily i had a really really good experience i know so many people that don't but
02:53i had a female gp which i do think definitely helps um and luckily enough i got a diagnosis pretty swiftly
03:01um i went and i had blood tests to make sure that we ruled everything else out um i got tested for
03:08pretty much everything from um you know cancer celiacs literally all sorts um and they just made sure
03:16they ruled everything out they didn't actually check for um my kind of hormones because i was still having
03:24my periods um so that actually wasn't my first sign of things going wrong my periods were still
03:32pretty much regular um it was just all the other symptoms i do believe that there are over a hundred
03:40symptoms of perimenopause so and there's so many crossovers as well perimenopause symptoms cross over
03:47with loads and loads of different things so it's such a hard thing to get diagnosed so if you do think
03:54that it is something you're going through please do not suffer because some of the symptoms are
04:01horrendous um and you can spiral so quickly um and as i said i felt like i was being possessed by
04:09someone else like it was horrible um and i was just getting deeper and deeper into a dark depression
04:14so i'm really glad that i went and i got help um and my doctor was more than happy to put me on hrt
04:21and i've been on it yeah for about 18 months now and i just feel like myself again um i started losing
04:28weight um that i'd put on during lockdown i think during lockdown i went up to like a size 12 almost
04:36and now i'm back to my kind of usual size of like a 8 ish um so yeah and i just feel like myself again
04:45really i mean obviously i still get the odd hot flush and stuff and the only noticeable thing now
04:51is the kind of hair loss which i really don't like um and now my periods are they're all over
04:59the place my goodness i don't know whether i'm coming or going um but i'm really glad that i reached
05:04out so if anyone's got any questions about perimenopause i am by no means an expert at all
05:11but um yeah do comment below and i'll try and answer as many as i can anyway happy friday oh and it's bank
