Borhan aka Keluang Man fights crime in Kluang, facing archenemy Shamsir and internal struggles while protecting his town and questioning his sanity.
Transcript
00:00It's something that's related to the design of the film, there are more than 60-60 crew who are in the hands of the episode that will come.
00:13For anyone who has been through the era of the era of the world, it's definitely known the title of the film.
00:20The engine of the world of Google is dedicated to Tom Ismail through Google Doodle.
00:30Let's take a look at Kluang Man!
00:41If we call it Kluang Man, the majority of Malaysians know about the first anima superhero in our country
00:48that was known in the last 1990s.
00:51And the brand isn't just well known with a huge fan base,
00:55but Kluang Man also became a very huge pop culture phenomenon
00:58that made the animation animation industry.
01:04We, as a collective, have made the decision to focus on this first film,
01:09specifically for Borhat.
01:14And what we have done is, honestly,
01:16for all the volunteers from the outside.
01:18This project is on our shoulders.
01:20So obviously, you want to give the best to the audience.
01:23We have a lot of people who are interested in reading Kluang Man.
01:27I, myself, wanted to read Kluang Man first.
01:29We didn't miss every edition.
01:34And of course, to bring this legendary career to a higher level,
01:38with a bigger skill,
01:40while we were able to create the big universe of Kluang Man.
01:44I had not seen this kind of action sequences on our local cinema.
01:49We are very grateful to the artist of Kluang Man,
01:54which is the iconic animation studio,
01:56because we gave the trust to Astro Shaw
01:59to realize this story.
02:02Scen 39, half, shot one, take one.
02:06Samsir is based on comic.
02:10We can see that Samsir is the character of the opponent
02:14to the Kluang Man, Borhan, in comic.
02:18But in this film,
02:20Samsir is a good friend with Borhan,
02:23from the young people.
02:24We grew up together in the community.
02:27So, my relationship with Borhan is like my brother and my brother.
02:32The character of Ahmad, as a disciple of his character,
02:35has been recognized by many people.
02:37And I feel that everyone will still wait
02:41to see how Ahmad was doing with Borhan Syamno
02:44in Kluang Man.
02:46Hi, my name is Alwar Big Mughal,
02:48and I am playing Inspector Sahab in Kluang Man.
02:51Inspector Sahab is a person who wants to take care of his family,
02:55and obviously, he is a policeman,
02:57so he wants to take care of the society
02:59and make sure there is no crime,
03:00or less crime at least,
03:02and where he is supposed to.
03:05I have increased with many people
03:09in my family who have a condition of mental issues,
03:12such as KidZo,
03:14who have a problem,
03:16or depression.
03:17For me,
03:18there are some examples that have
03:20for me to take care of the body of Borhan.
03:24I think Malini is like she is very homeless,
03:34but she also wants her freedom.
03:36Because we feel very connected.
03:39So she is trying to prove to the world that
03:42as much as she is a woman,
03:43you know, we are very independent,
03:45and I think she has a very soft spot towards Borhan.
03:48The body of Borhan is a mental disease,
03:53and in the film,
03:54we have to classify the disease
03:56which is schizophrenia and bipolar.
03:58Borhan is not a fit in and out.
04:01It is a snap.
04:02So it will move from drama to comedy.
04:05Unlike most superheroes,
04:07Coral Man can't fly.
04:09He doesn't have the ability to be invisible.
04:11His superpower is having no fear.
04:14Just pure bravery.
04:15He has a mental disease.
04:17What is actually happening?
04:18There is a mystery in there.
04:21So I feel that this factor
04:22will make a lot of people
04:23get to know better.
04:28The most important for me is
04:30how I want to bring a conflict
04:33conflict for the first one.
04:35For Borhan,
04:36where it is personal.
04:37Intipati animasi peluang man
04:39need to be protected.
04:40But the elements
04:42that you choose
04:43need to be contemporary.
04:45We use intipati
04:47as well as Borhan.
04:49But we have a little bit.
04:51We have a little bit
04:52about dynamics
04:53between Borhan and Shamsi.
04:55After I communicate
04:57with Anwari,
04:58he gave a visual.
05:00And then,
05:01we build their everything.
05:02We come out with design.
05:04So after approve-nya
05:05that design,
05:06so baru
05:07we go through
05:08with producer.
05:09In our work
05:11to be true
05:12to the original
05:13animasi
05:14is the
05:15port container.
05:16Port container
05:17is really
05:18next to impossible.
05:19So,
05:20what you see in the film
05:22is
05:23one-one container
05:24that is
05:25used to
05:26from the production design.
05:28We have a lot
05:30with VFX team.
05:31Can we not?
05:32Hujan
05:33we are fully CG
05:34but
05:35the VFX team
05:36said
05:37it is better
05:38to use practical.
05:39Although there are
05:40a lot of VFX team
05:41but it is true.
05:42Of course,
05:43there are a lot of discussion.
05:44Many discussion.
05:45Alhamdulillah
05:46we have a discussion
05:47in the pre-production
05:48on
05:49how we should look like,
05:51the suit
05:52looks like
05:53we have one
05:55principle
05:56we try not
05:57to push everything
05:58to be CG
05:59because
06:00it is not the right way
06:01to do it.
06:02If we can do practical
06:03we can push
06:04to do practical.
06:05If we need
06:06support
06:07from VFX
06:08we can support
06:09not 100% CG.
06:13For me,
06:14the VFX
06:15for film
06:16is not
06:17for two reasons.
06:18The first
06:19is the
06:20scale of film
06:21we want to do
06:22a lot of things
06:23that practically
06:24almost impossible
06:25to do
06:26on set
06:27without
06:28incurring budget
06:29which is
06:30one of the reasons
06:31is
06:32as a homage
06:33to the animation
06:34even
06:35in the early days
06:36they had to blend
06:372D and 3D
06:38so we wanted to do
06:39the same thing.
06:40I got
06:41a lot of commitment
06:42from our team
06:44VFX
06:45We work close
06:46with VFX
06:47there are a lot
06:48that we need
06:49to do VFX
06:50with VFX
06:51and then
06:52they want to do
06:53roto
06:54and everything
06:55there are a lot
06:56of short shots
06:57that we have
06:58that moment
06:59that we really
07:00like
07:01and love
07:02VFX
07:03but for VFX
07:04it's
07:05big
07:06for me
07:07it's
07:08great
07:09I think
07:10we are
07:11nailing the look
07:12so far
07:13for the live action
07:14I think
07:15people will
07:16love the look
07:17yeah
07:181
07:202
07:212
07:222
07:242
07:252
07:263
07:272
07:283
07:294
07:304
07:315
07:324
07:345
07:355
07:365
07:376
07:385
07:397
07:406
07:416
07:426
07:437
07:43low sketches, 20 artworks,
07:45it has a kind of shape.
07:46And we really want to choose
07:49the tactical, the more practical,
07:51the more believable.
07:53One of the things that I have to do is
07:56I must make the final product
07:58that I have to do
08:00at least,
08:00it has a certain kind of
08:02the rekaan asal from Roche.
08:05There are a lot of details
08:07for the costume,
08:09in terms of choosing the fabric.
08:11It is because we want to
08:12improve the fighting
08:16which is a bit extreme in the film.
08:21We use 3D scan to get the exact
08:25size of the head.
08:27From the design of 3D,
08:28we can print 3D,
08:29from the design of 3D,
08:31we can use the final material
08:34that is more flexible.
08:36We have to do the costume
08:38for the prototype that
08:40Abang Dino made.
08:41And in the end,
08:42what we have to do is
08:44the main purpose of the actor
08:45especially for the actors
08:48who are the first and the third.
08:49The first and the third
08:51everything is failed.
08:52It's not because of what it is,
08:52it's not because it's so beautiful.
08:54It's only because he is a cool.
08:57As a actor,
08:58when I wear this suit,
09:01I feel like I'm a different person.
09:04I'm a clown man.
09:06Nas memang,
09:06memang kena lah dengan topeng
09:08Clown Man tu sebab dia ada
09:10jawline dia tu memang cantik lah.
09:12Nasty memang pilihan yang tepat.
09:14Dengan bentuk wajah dia,
09:17memang kena sangatlah untuk Clown Man,
09:19rezeki dia.
09:21Nasty dia tak ada basic tu,
09:22untuk martial art.
09:23So dia mengaku dengan saya,
09:25Bro, aku tak ada basic martial art.
09:28Tapi during the rehearsal choreograph tu,
09:32memang kita nampak lah dia punya keycode,
09:33tapi Mamat ni memang kental.
09:36Dia punya development Nasty ni,
09:38dia growing daripada training,
09:41sampai lah kaset tu dia keep on growing.
09:44Proses dia tak pernah stop.
09:49Berapa bulan?
09:49Saya rasa dalam 3-4 bulan tu lah.
09:51Tengok lah sendiri hasil dia macam mana kan.
09:54The most surprising was the action sequences.
09:57I felt the action sequences were amazing.
09:59I had not seen this kind of action sequences
10:03on our local cinema.
10:05Dan Alhamdulillah, pihak produksi
10:07menyediakan latihan-latihan
10:09kira 3 bulan juga sebelum tu.
10:13Persiapan fizikal tu,
10:14of course, saya ikut daripada kekuatan umur saya
10:17bila mendengar perkataan action.
10:19So, saya kena bagi the full,
10:22300% performance.
10:24Mencungap ke, tak mencungap ke,
10:26itu semua tolak tepi.
10:27But preparation dah ada.
10:29Alhamdulillah, kita ada a good choreographer team
10:32dan juga stun yang banyak membantu saya
10:35dan juga keluar main.
10:36Di latihan, masa kita punya pre,
10:39kita punya prep semua,
10:40memang mereka sangat dedicated.
10:43Alhamdulillah, khas-khas kita perform
10:45sewaktu shooting,
10:47dengan komitmen yang mereka bagi
10:48masa training pun, sangat-sangat baik.
10:50Jadi, ia sangat membantu lah
10:52waktu kita buat action scene
10:54dan stun masa pengamaran.
10:56Kita perlukan macam planning yang elok
11:01sebab dia banyak tiga rangkailah,
11:20Of course, wearing the suit and fighting,
11:24that is the most challenging throughout the shoot.
11:27Because, bila kita pakai suit ni, dia sendat.
11:30Dengan pakai mask,
11:31ia rasa macam mengah nak bernafas.
11:34Bila fighting tu tak ada ventilation,
11:37saya kena buka and pasang, buka and pasang.
11:40That's how difficult it was lah.
11:41Tapi, if you ask me to do it again,
11:44of course, I'll do it again.
11:45Anuari pun, dia punya vision
11:49untuk mewujudkan satu filem aksi yang berbentuk.
11:53Anime ni memang agak payah sih.
11:55So, acting, fighting kita memang kena sharp.
11:59So, I did all my stuns.
12:00So, obviously, when you're doing stuns,
12:01you are geared up with a lot of stuff
12:04inside that you're wearing.
12:05Protective stuff.
12:06So, that becomes quite heavy also.
12:09So, that was something that was quite challenging.
12:12And, persiapan yang betul-betul mantap
12:18dengan tenaga kerja yang betul-betul nampak
12:21seperti ala-ala Hollywood.
12:23Inilah yang saya impikan.
12:24Dan, saya rasa semua aktor impikan
12:26untuk bekerja dalam budaya yang macam ni.
12:29Ini team-team baru tau.
12:30Production team yang baru.
12:31Tenaga kerja yang baru.
12:33Kalau orang baru ni,
12:34dia baru masuk dalam indah sini.
12:35Diorang nak buat,
12:36dia rasa macam macam kita boleh buat.
12:37Bila dia mix dengan kita yang dah lama ni,
12:39kita rasa macam,
12:40okay, I need this energy.
12:43You're working with an old-timer, kan?
12:45So, rasa macam,
12:46I need to live up to the same energy lah.
12:48I need to give the same energy.
12:50Including, dengan Dato'Rosham.
12:52Dato'Rosham is like another legendary actor.
12:55That's why,
12:56bila, every time you like,
12:57ada scene dengan Dato'Rosham
12:58or Remy,
12:59I kena well prepared
13:01sebelum masuk set.
13:02Saya pun nasib baik dalam usia 58 tahun.
13:05Saya dapat merasai keadaan pengamaran
13:08di set yang begitu besar.
13:10Dan untuk berada dalam filem
13:11yang belanja yang lebih besar di Indonesia,
13:13saya rasa saya amat-amat kecuali.
13:16The entire atmosphere on set
13:19was always amazing.
13:21In fact,
13:22one of the best sets
13:23that I've ever been,
13:24to be honest.
13:25And when I was on set also,
13:27the first day when I arrived,
13:28everybody was so welcoming
13:30and excited.
13:31And the vibe was like,
13:33you know,
13:33something new has been created.
13:35It has been a great experience.
13:36I think personally,
13:51me and Anwari,
13:52we are cut from the same cloth.
13:55We are like-minded.
13:56Kitorang ada that chemistry that,
13:59he doesn't have to tell me much
14:01on how to do things.
14:02When I had done that,
14:04he said,
14:05okay, that's how I wanted it.
14:07Initially.
14:09Mr. Anwari is a new wave director
14:12yang very ambitious.
14:15But the way they were different,
14:16the time they were different.
14:18I have to adapt
14:19to the time they were and Anwari.
14:21I was surprised
14:22because when I read the script
14:24of the man,
14:26I said to him,
14:27the script is good.
14:29I didn't see the script
14:30that was like this,
14:32that had humor,
14:34but had the story,
14:36and had the action.
14:39If he wants like this,
14:41he wants like this.
14:41If he doesn't get what he wants,
14:44he doesn't have to tell me
14:45many times about Anwari.
14:48And for my case,
14:49I think this is something that
14:50my groupers was just that,
14:52until I don't hear Anwari
14:53saying mantap,
14:55I would be disappointed.
14:56So when you hear him going like,
14:58mantap,
14:59you know you made it.
15:00Mantap.
15:00And everybody has got
15:01a different character.
15:02Anwari has a different,
15:03totally different character.
15:04He's like a...
15:06He's like a small kid,
15:07you know.
15:08Anwari is one of the most amazing
15:11directors that I've ever worked with.
15:13He knows his vision.
15:15He knows his mission.
15:16So Anwari is...
15:18What?
15:19And he gets excited very fast.
15:21And he wants the shot.
15:22Yes, yes, yes, yes.
15:23Get it, get it, get it, get it.
15:24One take, two take, three things.
15:25Yes, he's done.
15:26Gone.
15:26Yes, we've got it.
15:27It's definitely very different
15:29working with Anwari.
15:30Because he has his vision.
15:32He knows exactly what he wants.
15:35But at the same time,
15:36he allows us to, you know,
15:38kind of dive into the role,
15:40in how we feel comfortable with it.
15:42He's very into the character of the director.
15:48I think I got two months up,
15:49so that's pretty good for me.
15:51It's Anwari eh.
15:53Three months up.
15:55Two months up.
15:57Two months up.
15:58Four months up.
15:58Three months up.
15:59Three months up.
16:00Three months up.
16:01Three months up.
16:03And I got to say,
16:04I'm not sure I made mistakes in casting Nas.
16:05For Wattah Burhan.
16:06Nas for Wattah Burhan.
16:08He has shown us that he really wants to do things.
16:13He wants to prove what he can do.
16:15And I like the energy of his energy.
16:18And I tell you to Nasty,
16:20the opportunity that comes to this,
16:22don't be shy.
16:24Do the best you can do.
16:27I felt that Nas has worked very hard as an actor
16:32to portray the character.
16:35That whole costume,
16:37memang panas.
16:38It's Malaysia, guys.
16:39I have seen his dedication.
16:42I have seen his struggle.
16:44I don't think anyone else could be Bohan.
16:47Nas Muah Mazah, your name.
16:49Ha ha ha.
16:50You're not Nasty, right?
16:55I don't say that Nas as an actor
16:58can beat all the actors in Malaysia.
17:00I don't say that.
17:01I don't think there's a lot of actors
17:03to bring the body of Burhan
17:05except Nas Muah Mazah.
17:07I hope that performance I will accept
17:10from the true KM fans.
17:14I've given my best
17:15because I grew up watching Cru'ong Man.
17:17This is my version of Cru'ong Man.
17:19I hope everyone can accept it
17:21and enjoy the movie.
17:25Cru'ong Man dihasilkan untuk tontonan semua,
17:28latisan umur dan latar belakang.
17:30It's a film that everyone can just sit back and enjoy.
17:34It is for the older generation,
17:36it's a nostalgic journey down memory lane,
17:38while for the newer generation,
17:40it's an exciting introduction to a superhero like no other.
17:43I think Malaysians should watch Cru'ong Man
17:48because it's a true representation
17:50of Malaysian pop culture.
17:56So, I hope Malaysia can be able to
17:59be a superhero that is really strong.
18:02To be given a chance to play such an iconic character
18:05which will stick with me for the rest of my life,
18:07that was something very exciting.
18:09You are going to enjoy
18:11We are actually doing that José
18:13We are more fortunate
18:15whennes jouer series
18:17on the visuals
18:19And finally
18:20Two years ago
18:21in 2025
18:23now,
18:25everybody die new
18:26We are ynn deserve
18:28we are able to forget
18:29and we do this for all the people from the outside
18:33they are the people from the outside
18:35maybe now they are 40, maybe they are 50
18:38but you have to share your children to become
18:41the people from the outside to the outside
18:43in the form of film
18:44I intend to make the film as a sort of cinta
18:49to kids-kids that are big like me
18:53that now is people, people, people, people
18:55they can bring them
18:57so we hope Kruang Men can be accepted
19:01and able to make the viewers happy
