00:00Hello, hello, hello. Nice to meet you, Blair. I can't shake. I'm too sweaty. I'm sorry, but it's nice to meet you.
00:07So you're dropping new music right now, man. How's it been?
00:10It's great, man. We did it all in my living room. My studio burnt down.
00:13What?
00:14Yeah.
00:14That was a hell of a way to lead it there. And so you just did it in the living room, just five.
00:19Yeah, God is good, man. He always leads me to the right, you know, the right dojo that I'm supposed to, you know, craft my skills in.
00:27And so we just, this time it was the living room, you know what I mean?
00:30Okay, okay. And it was a big switch up. How's that been received?
00:34Oh, like the song I just dropped? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, dude, that is what I enjoy doing most is I think I'm seven albums in or whatever.
00:44I feel brand new every time. I think the only way to achieve that is by continuing to put new pictures in my art gallery, you know what I mean?
00:52And to keep giving new exhibitions and keep the excitement and keep the, I think mystery is the gateway to wonder.
00:59So I enjoy having people be curious.
01:05No, I mean, and like the new music video, I think it's so awesome because you always do switch it up.
01:09And I feel like you're a student of visuals.
01:10So like what was the vibe you were going for? Because it was giving me like Backstreet Boys, early 2000s.
01:14For sure, for sure, which is something I obviously grew up on and like, I think, I went with my gut this time rather than my eyes.
01:23Because if I went with my eyes and I would just be copying or doing whatever else I was seeing happening right now.
01:28And my gut was like, there's a void here.
01:30Yeah.
01:31And so I kind of, and there's a desperation for nostalgia.
01:33So I wanted to, you know, I like bringing it current.
01:37Yeah.
01:38Because I can give it a different type of bounce or a different type of flavor or sauce than they were giving it back then.
01:43So you are one of those artists that finds a way to reinvent yourself constantly, which is so incredibly impressive.
01:48But it's the 30th anniversary of the Warped Tour and you're returning to that festival, right?
01:53Let's go.
01:54How does that feel?
01:56I mean, dude, one of my favorite years of my career was 2012 when I did, I started out, the beginning of the year was opening for Tech N9ne.
02:03Then I did Warped Tour in the summer.
02:05And then I opened for Meek Mill and Rick Ross and Wale in the wintertime.
02:08And it was like the absolute zenith of what the description of MGK is, which is like any and everything under the sun.
02:17My baby and my oldest daughter is my most important thing, which is why, like, I was just talking about she's feeling sick today.
02:24And so I'm just going to walk the carpet and go back and give my baby some love, you know.
02:28That's, that's, I'm a, I'm a dad, man.
02:31You know, that's like, that's my, and blessings come with your children.
02:35So, like, the more you give to them, they also, you know, they fill your soul up.
02:39And I'm able to go and provide something, give something to the world and, you know, because my, because my cup is full.
02:44And I'm able to go and provide something, give something to the world and, you know, because my cup is full.
