The Finnish Air Force has launched Exercise Baana 25 today, conducting air operations from a section of the E75 highway near Tikkakoski. The training, running through May 29, aims to enhance the ability to operate from dispersed locations – a core element of Finland’s mobile warfare doctrine.
During the exercise, Finnish F/A-18 Hornets and Royal Netherlands Air Force F-35A Lightning II jets are operating jointly, including takeoffs and landings on modified stretches of highway. This marks the first time Dutch F-35As participate in Baana 25, highlighting the growing tactical cooperation between Finland and its NATO allies.
