Dressed in full academic regalia, beloved Muppet icon Kermit the Frog took centre stage at the University of Maryland to deliver a surprise commencement address filled with humour, heart, and meaningful life advice.

00:13You know, when I was just a little bit younger than all of you,

00:16I used to have fun in the swamp playing Leapfrog.

00:20It was our favorite game.

00:23Or kind of our only game.

00:24But we loved it.

00:26Except for my cousin, Albert.

00:28He never actually leapt.

00:30He just stepped on your back and used your head like a lily pad.

00:35Sure, he got ahead, but it was only by stepping on you.

00:39We've been told that that's how you succeed.

00:42And some choose to believe it.

00:45But I know they're wrong.

00:48So as you prepare to take this big leap into real life,

00:52here's a little advice, if you're willing to listen to a frog.

00:55Rather than jumping over someone to get what you want,

01:00consider reaching out your hand and taking the leap side by side.

01:06Because life is better when we leap together.
