00:00Zimbabwe's favourable climate conditions have positioned the country to be the fastest growing

00:05producers of blueberries globally, and Europe is the key export market. The European Union

00:13is the largest buyer of Zimbabwe's horticulture products, offering the country duty and tariff-free

00:19access to its market. This is a much-given boost to the local farmers in Zimbabwe.

00:25Our major markets, the Far East, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and developing into China

00:34later this year, and then Europe via Germany, Holland, and the UK. Those are the main markets

00:42for our varieties of blueberries that we grow here. From a Zimbabwe point of view, challenges

00:49for the industry, logistics have been a little bit difficult, but we always seem to make

00:55a plan. In the marketing, we've had to learn the quality and demands of different customers,

01:00particularly in Europe. It's something we adapt to all the time.

01:05Zimbabwe's blueberry sector is experiencing a revival. This is a much-needed boost for the

01:11country's economy, and even better for the local farmers. The European Union is investing

01:17over 500 million euros in sustainable agriculture and women empowerment projects in Zimbabwe.
