Representatives from Taiwan, Paraguay and Japan gathered in Tokyo to highlight their mutual support. At the event, Paraguayan President Santiago Peña reaffirmed his backing of Taiwan, one of the island’s 12 remaining diplomatic allies.

00:25own nation, because we also suffer from the threat of our own existence, so we think that
00:32it's very, very important that we support the independence of Taiwan.
00:38Paraguay is one of Taiwan's 12 remaining official allies.
00:42Taiwan's representative to Japan also thanked Paraguay for its support on the international
00:46stage, especially amid pressure from China to switch diplomatic recognition.
