Culture House CEO H.H. Princess Noura Bint Faisal Al Saud says there is “appetite” and “potential” among creatives in the fashion industry.⁠ ⁠ Onstage at the #FortuneMPW International Summit, she discussed how Saudi Arabia is becoming a global fashion hub.⁠

00:00She reminded me of the program that we did back when I was at the Fashion Commission.

00:05And it was the first kind of initiative of its kind in Saudi.

00:09It was called the Saudi 100 Brands, which lives until today.

00:13So I remember when we first did it, the amount of creatives that applied.

00:17So in my database, we had 500 designers.

00:21The applications we received were more than 1,300.

00:25So that tells you the appetite that's out there

00:27and the potential of the creative industry, specifically when it comes to fashion.

00:30You start it with the infrastructure and you build it right

00:33and then you let these kind of programs really move forward

00:37in the sense that supporting even more talent,

00:40making sure they're being mentored, exposing them,

00:42making them understand how business structures should be done,

00:46specifically when it comes to the creative world.

00:48You can be a creative, but you also need support in knowing

00:51what does it mean to create a business around your creativity.
