00:04It's their first day, it's their opening day, as you can see we've got loads of cars that are trying to use the drive-through system there

00:16So the queues have been here all day since they first opened, you can get a range of chicken in there
00:20But yeah, we're going to talk to a few people standing around to see what they think about it

01:03Yeah, well, I'm Simon, I've been to Popeye's for a couple of years now, absolutely love it, it's always great fun
01:09A little bit of madness, but it's always controlled and we have some fun with our customers and they come back time and time again
01:14That's fantastic, so how's the opening been so far? I mean it looks absolutely stacked in here, so
01:18Yeah, I mean, we queued up from 10pm last night, we had, you know, other car park when I got here at 7 o'clock this morning, so it's great to see, yeah, open the doors, open the drive-through and orders are piling through and we're just piling them out and having lots of fun
01:32Absolutely brilliant, what have we got to look forward to from Popeye's on Gallagher Retail 5?
01:36Oh, well, yeah, we're going to be, it's going to be a busy site this one, we're going to be serving chicken until late night for the late night drivers coming through the drive-through
01:45Also, you know, delivery in the future, we're currently eating, we've got a couple of schools nearby, so lots of kids, lots of families coming in, getting lots of chicken
01:53Fantastic, and it's a prime location for it as well, I mean, it's a very, very popular business park, so absolutely great location
01:59I've got a few in Birmingham now, so yeah, people at Birmingham love it, so can't complain
02:03Yeah, so we're here with Neil, Neil, just introduce yourself and your role in the company, obviously you're the big COO, aren't you?
02:07Yeah, my name's Neil Williamson, I'm the Chief Operations Officer at Popeye's
02:10Fantastic, I mean, how's it been down here today? You've been around for a bit now, haven't you?
02:13Yeah, it's been phenomenal, I mean, it's our second location in Birmingham we're open today, so we're in Birmingham Fort at the same time, 11am, as we opened here
02:21We've got quite a few more coming in Birmingham, so we've got the airport coming, we've got Birmingham City Centre, yeah, lots more coming
02:28It's our 84th restaurant, so one a week at the moment, so yeah, very good
02:33Absolutely, I mean, like, how good is it to see, how good is it to see so many people coming in and enjoying the food
02:38It's phenomenal, the first arrived actually yesterday evening, to be the first in the queue this morning
02:42We had about 100 in the queue when we cut the ribbon, so it's incredibly exciting to be bringing chicken to Weddinsbury
02:47That's brilliant, so what we're going to look forward in the future, you said you've got some coming up as well
02:50One in Birmingham, didn't you? One in Birmingham, what was it, airport?
02:53Yeah, so we've got Birmingham Airport coming very soon, in the next month or so
02:56We've got one in the City Centre, yeah, we're popping up wherever we can
02:59So we're always looking for the best locations to be able to bring our chicken to the customers
03:03So yeah, so we've been talking to the CIO, we've talked to the manager, we've talked to customers
03:07Everybody's absolutely loving it, so it looks like, as you can see, the food is absolutely fantastic
03:11I mean, we've got this sort of cheesy gravy mix, we've got the cheesy wings as well
03:16But yeah, it looks absolutely fantastic down here, everybody actually seems like they're really enjoying the food
03:20We've talked to a couple of people and they say that the chicken's out of this world
03:23Let's try a bite ourselves
03:25And you can see the burgers, they're a bit thicker than wider
03:29But it looks like a pretty good burger, so let's give it a go
