Popeyes opens a third Scottish restaurant on Glasgow’s Sauchiehall St

We visit Scotland’s newest Popeyes.

00:00So here we are in the new Popeyes on Sauchiehall Street making our very own chicken sandwich.

00:04These are immensely popular, when they first launched their first Scottish restaurant in

00:08Barhead last year they had queues 18 hours before they opened just for these.

00:12So first we double battered the chicken, the flour and the batter of which are made fresh

00:16in the kitchen every single day. We were very impressed by the quality of the food they use

00:21and what goes into the preparation. The menu and the restaurant are inspired by the culture

00:25of the southern states of America where the brand originated, specifically Louisiana.

00:29So the sandwich was very simple to make but very effective, it was absolutely delicious.

00:33If this is the kind of food you're after it's definitely one of the better options in the area.

00:37So Popeyes will open its doors at 11am on Friday the 5th of July. The first three people through

00:41the door get a year's worth of free chicken sandwiches. They've gone big with the prizes

00:45for the first few customers. What did you go for? Just plain coke which is always a
