Matt Maher brings you all the latest information from Unai Emery's pre-match press conference ahead of their clash with Manchester United.
Transcript
00:00Good afternoon from Bodimoore Heath. Well, for the final time this season, the 57th time this season,
00:07Uno Ema has held a pre-match press conference. Manchester United away on Sunday.
00:13It all comes down to this. Villa needing a win and a bit of help from elsewhere to finish in the top five
00:19and qualify for the Champions League for a second straight season, which would be, you know, frankly,
00:24a colossal achievement considering how many games they've had this season, what they've done in other competitions.
00:28You know, it does feel like it's a potentially era-defining game, really.
00:34If Villa were to get into the Champions League next season, look, you know, they're in Europe, whatever happens,
00:39but the Champions League, there's so much money involved, you know, it feels they really would strengthen their position,
00:46you know, as one of the, you know, the elite clubs in the Premier League.
00:49So there's a lot riding on it. They'll go there. They've not been to Old Trafford as favourites like this for a long time.
00:55We're going back decades. But Manchester United's 16th in the league.
01:01Frankly, they're not very good, are they? They've just lost the Europa League finals to Tottenham.
01:05They're on the floor. But Unai Emery warning today, look, the greatness of Manchester United is still there.
01:11He's expecting a tough game. And frankly, you know, that's probably a good message to put across.
01:15I mean, Villa have only won twice in 42 years at Old Trafford.
01:19And as bad as Manchester United are, there will be Villa supporters thinking, fearing the worst,
01:24because, you know, it's just a place that Villa just don't tend to win.
01:27And bad things tend to happen, even when United aren't that good.
01:31The other big news today, or the other talking point today, should we say, concerning Emi Martinez, of course.
01:37There was a lot of discussion last week after the game against Tottenham.
01:40Martinez left the field in tears.
01:41He certainly feels that he thinks he could be leaving Villa this summer, despite the club insisting that there's no deal agreed.
01:48As yet, Unai Emery's saying that he's confident that Martinez's full focus is on Sunday and nothing else.
01:56Obviously, he's kept three clean sheets in a row since the FA Cup semi-final defeat.
01:59So he'll be determined to finish the season on a high.
02:02Villa looking to finish the season on a high, you know, looking for another win,
02:05which, you know, would probably most likely propel them into the top five and another season in the Champions League.
