The man accused of fatally shooting two staff members of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., has been formally charged with murder, in what authorities are calling a premeditated act of terrorism. The suspect, 31-year-old Elias Rodriguez, was arrested shortly after the brutal attack outside the Capital Jewish Museum and confessed during police interrogation, stating, “I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza.” Prosecutors say Rodriguez targeted the victims—Israeli national Yaron Lischinsky and American citizen Sarah Milgrim—as they were leaving a private event. The young couple, reportedly days away from getting engaged, were shot multiple times in a chilling execution-style assault captured on surveillance video.
